I am the oldest of 5 children. I have 4 little brothers. I am 29, my baby brother is 16.
Also, I have an aunt who is 31. She and I have always been more like sisters. My cousin (her youngest) just celebrated his first birthday. (Kinda crazy haha)
The first time I attended any form of public school was went I started college classes at our local community college.
I was a homeschooler from first grade to graduation when homeschooling wasn't cool. My parents caught a lot of ridicule from family but they did a stellar job teaching so my brothers & I were very successful at it.
Are we allowed more than one? I grew up in a National Park. My dad was in the coast guard, but retired early when I was still pretty young. He then took a job as a national park ranger. I spent most of my childhood in Yosemite, and still consider it to be my home.

LOVE!
I want to go back to Yosemite. I went as a child & didn't appreciate it as much as I would now. It's an amazing place though. Lucky you!

It IS amazing! We went back in 2012, and my hubby was in absolute awe. He'd never seen anything like it. I miss it a lot.
I'm half English. My dad met my mom when he was stationed in England for the Air Force. He proposed after ten days, they married in my mom's hometown and then moved back to America. I definitely feel more English than American.
“When the first baby laughed for the first time, its laugh broke into a
thousand pieces, and they all went skipping about, and that was the
beginning of fairies.” - J.M. Barrie Peter Pan
I have died every day waiting for you. Darling, don't be afraid, I have loved you for a thousand years. And all along I believed I would find you, time has brought your heart to me. I have loved you for a thousand years. I'll love you a thousand more.
Before this pregnancy I could put both legs behind my neck. Human pretzel.
My dad's cousin did this when she was in her early twenties and got stuck. They had to call 911 and two paramedics had to get her undone!
This is the same cousin that once fell asleep on the toilet and woke up hours later with her butt stuck in the seat from swelling. Once again, paramedics had to get her out of it.
(She and my dad were thick as thieves, so he tells these stories fondly and OFTEN.)

Love this. My company helps the Park Service run the hotels, restaurants and tours at national parks. I help implement environmental programs that reduce the waste, water, power, fossil fuels, etc. that park visitors and our operations use/generate while they are on site. I love it - before I have to stop traveling I have to get to Denali, Olympic and Lake Mead.

I've lived in over 10 different apartments in my 20s. DD is finally stopping my urge to pack up and move all the time. We have too much stuff now!
BFP#2 7/3/13. U/S at 6w4d showed 1 heartbeat at 127 bmp and 2 empty sacs. MMC discovered at 10w4d. D&C 8/27/13. Pathology showed normal boy. Missing our babies every day. BFP#3 10/29/13! Beta#1 at 4w5d - 2141, beta#2 at 5w1d - 7651! U/S 11/21/13 showed baby measuring 2 days ahead with a heartbeat of 127 bmp!
Umm... I have two siblings, an older brother and sister, and all 3 of us have professions in the arts. My sister is the most interesting - she's an opera singer!
Aaaand when I was twelve I accidentally drove a golf cart off a (smallish) bridge. Everyone was fine, except the golf cart.
I have Irish citizenship; therefore so does DS and so will the new baby. I feel a little like an international woman of mystery holding multiple passports.

Ha, this is me with my UK passport and US passport. I feel all James Bond and shit.

When I was younger I walked on my toes. I had to get my tendons stretched and casted repeatedly for one year when I was in the 3rd grade so that I could walk flat footed. Fortunately apparently that was the age where it was really cool to where casts and I didn't get made fun of for having casts on both legs.
Also I grew up half of my life with my mom in the city and half with my dad on our family farm that's been in our family for over 200 years.
I have no sense of smell (literally none.. Not just a weak one), and I didn't realize it until I was 12. We were at the beach and the moment we stepped out of the car my mom and brothers started talking about how good the clam chowder smelled, and I was like "what are you talking about?!?" I went through a bajillion tests and apparently there is no explanation. As an extra odd detail, I can still taste and food is very flavorful to me. Normally people who can't smell can only taste a few things (salty, sweet, bitter, etc.).
That trick when you are a little kid and you plug your nose so you don't have to taste gross food as much? Never worked for me. On the bright side, even when i have a cold food still tastes amazing!! ;-)
By the time I was 19, I owned a car I bought with my own money, I was closing on a house, and I was getting married. I know, it doesn't sound that interesting, but here in the sticks where I'm from, most people my age were driving Mustangs their parents bought for em, were still immersed in high-school drama, and didn't know the first thing about buying property.
I'm the youngest of two children, three if I count my half brother. I never see my half brother anymore because he lives in New Mexico and I... Don't. My older brother died in a car accident at 18. I was 16.
I don't make friends easily because I'm very quiet at first, and assuming they make it past the quiet, I have to hope they can take my sarcasm and bluntness. I often joke that I have no friends. It's less of a joke- I mostly only hang out with my sister in law.
I am from a family of women. It's kind of weird, really. All the men in our family are married in. Other than my grandfather who is in his mid70's, the only other boy born in my family in the past 7 decades is my nephew who is 4...
So when the hubs and I found out we were expecting, everyone was anxiously awaiting to find out if we were going to be the 2nd people to break the girl trend. Nope, we're keeping it going :-)
It's like you are the Halliwell family from Charmed! You should check for dormant magical powers.
I'm the second oldest of 6 kids, the youngest is the only boy and is 15. My aunt is 7 years older than me and had a baby exactly 9 months after DS was born and is currently pregnant due the end of June. I often forget that it's not the norm to have aunts that close in age or siblings that far spread so people give me funny looks when I saw something like oh my aunts pregnant.
SO and I are looking to up and move to Oregon in a year or two. And we don't plan on telling anyone until a couple weeks before we leave, after a house and jobs are finalized. Our families may be mad, but this way they can't try and change anything or convince us to stay. It's my favorite secret right now
I reallllly want to move to Long Island New York before our oldest turns 18. I have family up there and I absolutely love the area. But, it's just not in the cards for us any time soon sigh.
Since we need something to do on Tuesdays... tell us a fact about you.
I'll start...
We moved around a lot when I was younger. I went to 13 different schools.
Me too. I counted it out that as of 20 years old, I had moved 24 times in my life. Thankfully since then I've only moved once!
Other random fact - hmmmmm I know more about chiropractic medical billing than most chiropractors in the state. (I know this because of the society seminars we all go to)
Yes I am slightly boring :P

My husband and I are taking our hobby to the next level. We make wine and brew beer and are in the process of turning it into a side business. Each batch we make is different than one before and is inspired by Maine things!

I went to the same very small very Catholic private school for thirteen years. I loved my uniforms and had zero clue how to dress myself in college.
I am not Catholic and never have been.
