  • My work situation has gotten so bad that i have finally reached the breaking point.

I'm working on my resume, surfing Craigslist, and hoping to find a new job to start after the baby is born.

The biggest part of this decision is that i'm looking at jobs out of state. DH and i always had a plan to move to WA, and now seems like as good a time as any. Plus he can go to school there and when he goes to transfer to a university we won't have to pay non resident fees!

Somebody tell me it will be alright and that i'm not totally insane for attempting this and for thinking i could potentially move during maternity leave.

I think this will actually go a long way towards making us both much happier.
It will be alright. I am so frustrated with my work that I am applying for jobs across the country right now. I would be quite pleased to get something and have something better to move to before this LO arrives.

    Pregnancy Ticker

  • I've noticed something in the past week or so now that I'm finally looking unquestionably pregnant and not just chubby.... People keep holding open doors for me, and letting me go first in line :-o    This is a crazy new development.  Y'all, I'm a 6'4 woman.  Nobody holds open doors for me ever, or lets me take their seat or cut in line ever.  At the most, people get out of my way just because they are scared I will run them over ;-)   I know some people don't like special attention for being pregnant... but seriously... I feel like I'm being treated like a woman for possibly the first time ever!  It is fantastic!!! ;-)

They're even nicer when you have a newborn. You made me laugh about being tall and treated like a lady, I totally get it.

Aww...this makes me happy/sad for you. Happy, obviously, that you are getting to experience stranger niceness towards pregnant ladies, but sad that people haven't been treating you like a lady all your life. I never realized that would be a perk of being short. Although, I'll admit to occasionally wanting to shout "I'm short, not weak!" at people...

  • @TallMomma29‌ they're not as nice when you have a toddler and are pregnant, but maybe with 19 they would be.

  • @mrscurlygurl, I don't think that was worded poorly!  This part of pregnancy makes me already more willing to potentially have a second one ;-)  I was sick nearly 24/7 for the the first 15 weeks or so, and I haven't had that awesome burst of energy that second tri moms allegedly get.  I'm generally not sick anymore, but I'm pretty much exhausted all the time, the tiniest amount of exertion will make me tired for hours, and I feel totally brain dead (combo of burn out pre-pregnancy.. not blaming it on being pregnant).   So this lovely new development of people being so nice to me is a very nice change!  Finally, a nice pregnancy perk!  Plus, I don't have to worry about sucking in my stomach or camoflaging it anymore.  I like that perk too! ;-)

I love not having to suck in my stomach. That's going to suck at some unspecified point in the future where I decide I care again.
I know, right?  Going back to pants with unforgiving waistlines.. ugh.  Not looking forward to that!

  • Note to self: stock up on mad Baby wipes.
I wish there was a way to explain over the internet the glory of a "buttsplosion." Not the kind that leaks everywhere, but the regular kind. When they crap with such force and noise that you have to wonder if he is a baby or a tiny old man in a baby's body.

  • I just walked out of the restroom and thought "Oh no, I forgot to zip my pants!"

And then I remembered that I haven't zipped my pants in months. :)
@blythemiles, OMG.. I missed the GIF in this post before.  Is that a cat doing a (creepy) thumbs up?  If so, amazing!!

  • On a random note... I've noticed that for some reason I "say" y'all a lot in writing, even though I virtually never say it out loud, and even though I am not remotely southern.  :-/

My BFF is from Texas and DH is from Georgia, so it's not like it's out of nowhere or anything.. but it's still strange!  I think the truth is that I think "y'all" is awesome, but I'm not yet brave enough to admit it in public ;-)

  • Y'all is awesome @TallMomma29. Being able to say "all of y'all" is even more fun :)

That awkward moment when you go to get your charger from your purse and find gummi bears. And then spend five minutes eating gummi bears and wondering what it was you were doing. #pregnantlyfe

I definitely laughed out loud at that one hahaha.
  • It's 70 degrees here tonight so I have the back door open... Which was nice until the cat started bringing beetles in the house to bat around. I've removed three so far. Time to shut the door.
  • Probably preaching to the choir but take extra care of your teeth during pregnancy! Don't skip dental visits just because you're pregnant. Check-ups are important!

Just broke a tooth :( sighhhhhh.... Damned hyperemesis, extra acid and low vitamin D....

  • ugh @Bpargood, that sucks! Anything they'll do for it right now?

  • @mrscurlygurl‌ I won't know until I see my dentist Tuesday. It's a piece of previously filled tooth and it broke above the gum line and I'm not in any pain (knock on wood) so I'm hoping no root canals or extractions and that they'll just bond it for now so that I can avoid an X-ray and any major work. But that's wishful thinking. I'm really grateful it's not in the front of my mouth! Can't do anything but laugh. Ugh, pregnancy.

  • I am getting super annoyed with the Christian people in my Facebook newsfeed freaking out because the movie Noah is not biblically accurate.  Anyone who goes to see a Hollywood-made movie based on a Bible story and expects it to be biblically accurate is kind of an idiot (especially if the maker is an atheist who specifically said it was the most unbiblical movie based on a bible character ever).  FTR, I consider myself Christian, but I do not get my panties in a wad when a non-christian makes a movie based loosely on a Bible story.   It's just like non-religious "based on a true story" movies that play fast and loose with the facts (see, e.g., Captain Phillips).

So many things going on in the world and the thing you are going to freak out about is that a non-christian played fast and loose with a Bible story to make money on a movie?  It's so silly.
I don't consider myself Christian and I really want to see Noah. Biblical or not, I don't care. I love super dramatic, apocalypse movies.

  • Holy f-ing hell!!!! This probably belongs on MBF but it just happened and I am completely flabbergasted. Long story short, I dated a guy in college who was emotionally & physically abusive. It took me years to recover but I will carry those emotional scars forever. I haven't had any form of contact with him in over 10 years....until today when he sends me a friend request on Facebook. REALLY!!!!!!! Why the hell does he think I would ever say yes?!

We're went on the hospital tour this morning and holy cow...the rooms are HUGE. You labor, delivery and recover in just one private room once you check in and DH and I were definitely impressed. I'm also happy to have discovered the c section rate is only 19%! I want to avoid a c section if at all possible so I'm really glad this is where my practice delivers :-)
Here's a website with links to almost every hospital
