That was me. Incredible, right?

My son has decided that my ribs make an excellent footstool, and no amount of wiggling and squirming can make him move. I can literally feel his foot through my skin.
Follow up u/s today- Baby looks good, but the placenta is still low (though not covering the cervix). Doctor said it had moved some, but not enough, so still on pelvic bed rest and I have another u/s at my next check up. Awesome to see baby more, but 1) it makes it more difficult to do a vbac if it stays low 2) still no sex for us 3) we're team green and I'm no u/s tech, but I'm worried we might accidentally see something we don't want to.
I'm just having a hard time getting into this book. I guess it's kind of NMS. I still want to try to read it when I get a free minute though so I don't feel like a book club failure.
I want to participate in this book club but with the house situation I'm too stressed for reading.
I've been dying to participate as well but I just lurk and read the comments. The latest book looks really good too! I'll have to have a list or something and catch up on my own time.
Ugh! New military wife fail. I booked a non-refundable trip to Hawaii about 9 days after DH is supposed to be back (he's supposed to be halfway through a 2 week vacation at that point), and I just found out they had issues and have to head back to the port they came from. Noooooooo!!!!! Rookie mistake!!!
I bought 3 books today. I just can't seem to get past chapter 2 of Jim Hensen's biography. It's like I'm intimidated by the 600+ pages

I love writing to writers. I have a treasured postcard from Beverley Cleary.
Newborns sleep a lot in the beginning, but you need to sleep too. You'll definitely find the time to read if it's important to you. But sleep first and then read. I was so consumed by doing All! The! Things! that I didn't sleep and paid the price a few weeks in.

Mister loved Born to Run. He's not much of a reader, but he got into that one.
We live in a neighborhood where the houses are fairly close together - your typical neighborhood. Two doors down, the people are constantly fixing/building race cars. Those things are freakin LOUD! I can't imagine living next door to them and I am quite surprised that the people across the street have not called to complain about them yet. I am so tired of hearing those engines rev, especially after my son goes to bed. It makes the dogs mad and bark like crazy. If I wanted to experience nascar, I would buy tickets to a race. GTFO!!
Does anyone else pee a little when they sneeze. Ugh I just showered. Upping my kegel exercises now!
Almost every time. I wear a liner all the time, the Poise kind not the Always/period type. I'm going to talk to my OB/midwives about what can be done post baby because kegels do jack shit for me and I don't want to wear liners for the rest of my life.
Just got back from my 24 week appointment. Everything looks great! Emma was moving around so much the OB was laughing and then she kicked the Doppler!
Me too! Wiggle worm kicked the Doppler and it was cool to feel it at the same time I heard it haha. The crappy part is that I have officially hit my 11lb weight gain allotment for the whole pregnancy...so...I guess I should stop eating for the next three months? XP
I gave my notice today at my current job. I am already so much happier knowing I only have 2 more weeks of hell left before starting a more rewarding career. I really wanted to hand her a big F U instead of my professional notice. I was definitely thinking it though.
My work situation has gotten so bad that i have finally reached the breaking point.
I'm working on my resume, surfing Craigslist, and hoping to find a new job to start after the baby is born.
The biggest part of this decision is that i'm looking at jobs out of state. DH and i always had a plan to move to WA, and now seems like as good a time as any. Plus he can go to school there and when he goes to transfer to a university we won't have to pay non resident fees!
Somebody tell me it will be alright and that i'm not totally insane for attempting this and for thinking i could potentially move during maternity leave.
I think this will actually go a long way towards making us both much happier.
I read a ton too. I never watch TV, except that DH and I watch the Amazing Race and I watch ESPN or forensic files while Im on the treadmill. I go through about a book a week, give or take. Library days are my favorite (I went today!) But I keep a running note on my phone about which books Ive already read because I hate coming home with one I have. Glad to see Im not the only one! Just started A Casual Vacancy by JK Rowling and so far Im liking it.
DS wasn't much of a mover in utero. Sometimes I'd go a full day or two without feeling him move. This little guy is a total opposite, he moves and jumps and kicks like crazy. Sometimes it's cute, right now it's annoying. Here is an u/s pic of him from a couple weeks ago pressing my belly with his legs. I'm thinking this is a typical position for him. I'm actually a little nervous that he's gonna be a totally hyper child and I won't be able to keep up with him.
DH didn't believe I was 6 months. He's like you'll be 6 months when we are 3 months away from the due date. Took me 10 minutes to get him to understand it's not actually 9 months and you have the baby, it's a full 9 months. He thought I was supposed to be pregnant for 36 weeks. This man is an engineer....
Re: Random thread- for all things random.
... ;-)
I just hate all those posts about "I can't do XYZ (read, make dinner, clean, etc.) because you don't know my life! I have a toddler!"
Just trying to be reassuring. Once a reader, always a reader.

Just needed to rant.
I keep threatening to buy this for Mister. IT IS A EUROPEAN CARRYALL.
