You know what, I've been obese nearly my entire life and I've never felt BETTER about my body than pregnancy. Because even with the size changes, and the aches/pains, I think it is incredible that my body has been able to do this. And it makes me excited to change some of my bad pre-preg habits (lack of exercise and reliance on processed foods) to be a better Mom to my son. If I lose weight doing that--awesome. If not, big fucking deal.
Besides, my size two sister got back to her pre-pregnancy weight but she is NOT a size 2 anymore. Things have widened and gotten squishy and she deals with it like a champ even though she was one of the weight-obsessed popular girls in high school. So it really shouldn't be about the weight, but feeling good about your body: what it's been through, what you put in it, and how you treat it.
That said, my fat pregnant ass is craving animal crackers, so I'm going to go make that happen. *gets off soapbox*
Let's just call a spade a spade here. Nobody is looking for "realistic" anecdotes in that post. She wants someone to tell her that she will be thin and trim ASAP after baby, and any honest response that Internet strangers' experiences mean absolutely fuck shit nothing in relation to the future of her pp figure, is going to piss her off and get someone to cry "mean girls."
Where's my cake?!
I bump love you.

Oh awesome! The weight loss offender (that railroad chick) is the same one who isn't going to let her kid around our vicious flea bags. No need to resort to physical violence, ladies. Scare her off with your puppies & kittens.

I KNEW she had done something crazy before. I KNEW it!!! I just didn't have the patience to scroll through all of her posts.
First day home. Got off to a rough start. Also I have no nursing bras and I'm having a hard time not getting soaking wet at feeding time.
Welcome home, doll.. I don't have any helpful advice but I am sure you are a badass mommy already. Soaking wet at feeding time has to = silver lining of a great supply, right?
@LoriMc12 I did ww in the past and it was safe consistent weight loss and I could et as many fruits and veggies as I wanted. It is a great program just stink you have to count points,
I did it a bit in college with the pre-online system. I also really like my fitness pal, but they don't account for BF. I really don't want to have to pay for a service!

I did WW with the old and new system. New one (well been around for a few years now!) takes a bit of getting used to but I like it. I lost 20kg (45ish lb) before getting pregnant.
I'll probably go back to that if I feel the need after having LO because they do cater for breastfeeding mums as well.

I'll be going back to MyFitnessPal after baby. I have done WW on and off since I was 14, and for some reason, haven't found a good meeting group around here. I LOOOOOOVED the iPhone app for tracking Points and since MFP basically does that, I think I'll be sticking to the free version! Plus, if baby has an upset stomach while breastfeeding, it'll be easy to look back and identify foods that may be a problem for him.

I lost 10 pounds over the course of a couple months last summer using MFP! Aaand then I got knocked up again.

Lol- yeah MFP showed me that even eating the recommended calories per day and staying active only yielded painfully slow results. It helped me come to grips with the fact that losing 30 pounds could take 3 years, but only if I paid very close attention to everything I ate. I used it for awhile during this pregnancy to track protein and I will probably start it up again pp to see what I'm putting in my body. Right now, I'm in survival mode again, just like the first tri.

YES! I would love to be MFP pals @pineconey, @dani+california and whoever else is interested! THAT is much more my style than worrying about how I look. It's so much more encouraging to know that your friends (and yourself) are tracking every day than "OMG I HAD A TWINKIE I'M SO FAT I WANT TO DIE!! NOW I'LL NEVER LOSE THE BABY WEIGHT!!" Ugh. Besides, technically, shouldn't the definition of baby weight be "how much the baby weighs"? And if that is the case, we all lose our baby weight as soon as baby is out the ute. YAY US!
@LoriMc12 - MyFitnessPal is a website (and cell phone app) that works in a similar way to WeightWatchers, except instead of tracking Points, it tracks calories (along with fat, protein, sugar, vitamins, etc). You get a calorie range based on what you are trying to do, and it'll only allow you a rate of losing up to 2lbs per week, though I have lost more even sticking very close to the calorie count. It's also got a social aspect where you can add friends. They can't see your tracking, but it'll give updates for tracking X days in a row or losing weight. I added my sister-in-law and it's fun to see "Jen weighed in and lost 2lbs this week!". Having done WeightWatchers (but not liking the meetings), I actually find it to be a better program because you get the WHOLE view of your daily nutrition, not just points. I could eat cake all day and still be in my points range on WW, but that's not going to help control my anemia. So for me, being able to see my iron intake is an awesome tool. Along with trying to balance the protein/fat/carb ratios.
What's annoying about the weight loss thread is that the OP isn't even (or at least it doesn't seem so based on what I've comprehended) offended by the responses she's gotten. Her question seemed genuine. It's that damn psychopath troll on her high horse that's being ridiculous.
I've been lurking today. Not feeling like myself for some reason. I just feel so bleh physically and emotionally. Monday blues I suppose Either way - I hope everyone is wonderful :x
