@Rita092010 - I had my final concert with my private choir today, it's the last thing I had to do for any sort of work. We got up, got ready, I had to be there by about noon, we got home around 4ish. I am now done with work work, lessons, and the private choir.
I am SO.FUCKING.BORED. (Even though I know I will regret feeling this way later.) And so over being pregnant - and I have a week until my due date. I don't know how you ladies who are past due are handling it.
Unrelated - my hips are KILLING me. I can't lie down on either side. I already use a snoogle and other pillows. Suggestions are welcome.
RIP Dr. Irving Fishman - 10/1/19-7/25/10 - thank you for holding on for me. You made my wedding day complete.
@saisongbird Prenatal massage helped me a lot with that, though I'm in need of another one. In the meantime the garland yoga pose seems to help stretch my hips enough that I could sleep.
DH was pretty upset his college basketball team lost its NCAA tourney game today, so it was a welcome distraction to get him out of the house for a couple hours and have a good time. Then I went for a nice solo walk to best buy and shopped for dslr cameras. Was a pretty good day!
Pick me pick me next too!
Ooh did you pick a camera?? I got a Canon Rebel T3i exactly a year ago and I can't wait to take pics of LO!!
I bought the same one on black friday...still haven't learned how to really use it, but I'm so excited for better baby pics than my phone takes.
I'm losing my shit, y'all. False contractions all day, been alone with the roommate all day without H, gassier than a hot air balloon, and I just CAN'T.
Twenty minutes ago it was an ugly cry, ten minutes ago it was an angry silence glaring a hole in my bedroom wall, and now it's defeated, on-the-verge-of-tears exhaustion.
I'm now genuinely concerned about the possibility of PPD, with my history of regular depression...
@kmeyers0611 I am on the same rx and have had several nights that I wake up literally gagging on acid. And my throat seems to be chronically sore from acid. I am taking 40mg and doc said to go ahead and double it but I really don't want to. Milk shakes help me the best. Otherwise I just limit the water around bedtime and sleep propped up on 3 pillows. So miserable! I hope you find something that helps tonight!
Sounds like several folks are still struggling with stomach acid I woke up the other night vomiting bile and the doc said zantac and gaviscon. Both have worked surprisingly well, if you're looking for even MORE suggestions. (Also, the liquid gaviscon has a numbing effect when you swallow so it allows for immediate relief in your throat.)
@Anneplusone I hear ya!!!! I'm so frustrated...people Annoy the shit out of me by saying "she'll come when she's ready". Well no freaking duh! But I'm exhausted NOW...so wanting her out NOW is no surprise people.
I'm so not zen that I have to go to work today. My upper back is still killing me and I'm sure that's not going to go away til LO is born.
My due date is Thursday ...I'm praying she decides to come before then. I'm so ready.
Sorry this is not at all Zen. Monday is going to suuuck. Haven't slept much all night. Still no signs of labor except dilation. Get the hell out now, baby!
March Siggy Challenge .. What I miss the most during pregnancy

I highly recommend the website www.clickitupanotch.com. A little bit down on the right is a section called photography basics. It really explains shooting in manual model which gives you a lot of creative options like blurry background, etc. I just happened upon it one day, no affiliation or anything
Thank you!!! I think I get my very first cervical check today, like a due-date present......
Oh boy! That's the gift everyone wants on their due date! @Jt7dreamz - Congrats on your beautiful baby!
I am trying to find zen today... Just having to work is ruining my chance of that though... Why oh why did I agree to work up until I delivered?!?!?!
Not zen. At all. Been having contractions all night and they effing hurt. Went to L&D and I'm only a fingertip dilated. Got sent home "to rest"....not sure how I can rest with contractions every 5-10 minutes but anyway.
I'm doing okay. I woke up early and couldn't get back to sleep. I have the day off though so I'm not gonna gripe too much. My plan to keep busy today is getting on the treadmill (it's like 5 degress out) and finishing my wedding scrapbook and lion cross stitch for LO's room today. I need to make some chicken salad for lunches, and I might get some food shopping done.
i am really trying to be zen, but i totally feel hopeless that i will be pregnant for 11 more days. My dd is 3/26 and I asked my OB to let me go as far over due as he could to avoid a csection. So they scheduled my csection for 4/4! Now I am just praying my body knows what to do and soon! Plus if I don't go into labor I will have to work this week! I have a ton to do there, but I am so sick of talking to people.
@wearebirds I'm getting the opposite! Everyone is constantly asking if I'm getting induced, or when I'm getting induced. It's like waiting for the baby to come on their own is unheard of these days! I did tells my husband that I'd agree to an induction at 41+3. But that's two weeks from today. This baby better freaking come on her own before that! I'm definitely going to ask to get my membranes stripped at today's appointment. According to my SIL's the Dr's here don't need you to be dilated.
Wishing everyone a peaceful zen Monday! And congrats on the outside babies!!! Soooo many levels of jealous!
Hoping for lots of zen today. Didn't sleep too well and was woken up early by my MIL to come over and help her with emergency cleaning. To make things even better, my contractions have slowed and pretty much stopped. My next appt is tomorrow and I've decided to let them induce me as soon as they can. My mental state is too rocky to handle the anxiety. It's just too much.
Hmmmm, does 50% and 1cm count as good news or bad news? MW was very positive and said everything was nice and soft and stretchy and low, just not super dilated. I will be positive too!
Also she agreed that April 7 will be induction date if I go over so it's nice to have a date in sight.
@pepperedmoth I would take anything other than 0 cm and 0% as a win!! Was the check super uncomfortable? I've never had one. And what's on the OWT induction regimen today? I just walked a mile on the treadmill and am having my raspberry leaf tea. After a shower and food shopping I'm going to *carefully* make another pineapple mango smoothie.
@pepperedmoth glad the MW was able to tell you *something* is happening to help you feel a little better.
Well, after a few hours of fitful sleep, I do feel much better. Woke up in a panic about 45 minutes ago though because I forgot I had an oil change scheduled for this morning, and had to rush out the door without even eating something first. .___. Luckily hey have donuts here. I'm giggling internally at the irony of that.
Hips prevented sleep last night. I really didn't want to have an April baby and now I'm thinking that it's more and more likely. I have my first cervical check today but I'm not expecting good news.
RIP Dr. Irving Fishman - 10/1/19-7/25/10 - thank you for holding on for me. You made my wedding day complete.
@AnonymousMotherOfOne I'm glad you're feeling a little better today. I said it yesterday how crazy the ups and downs are! Yay for donuts! I'm craving a strawberry frosted and plan on getting one on my way to food shop. Haha.
@pepperedmoth That's way farther along than I am! I think that's a good due date present after all!
I've had cramps since yesterday afternoon. Either the sex started things moving, or I will poop soon. I'm betting on the poop.
My mom is in favor of med-free births, so I told her that if I don't go into labor on my own, the doctor has options for starting things without pitocin. Then I had to explain all about stripping the membranes, using the balloon catheter, etc. Not such a zen conversation!
@Sanibel21, I think OWT induction regimen for today includes more pineapple, a hamburger (that's LIKE a Big Mac, right?), walking, RRL tea, and sex.
Midwives gave permission to try castor oil under their supervision after 41 weeks....they have a set regimen they use IF someone wants it. So that'll be next monday if I'm still pregnant....
@saisongbird, positive thoughts! I am focusing on effacement instead of dilation. I've read that that's a much better predictor of spontaneous labor FWIW......
@Sanibel21 My cervical checks have actually been better than the checks at my annual pap smears. I'm not dilated at all yet, though, and I heard they get more painful as you progress.
@saisongbird I also don't want an April baby. For me, though, it's mostly because my husband already bought me a necklace with the March birthstone. :P
@pepperedmoth I keep forgetting about the Big Mac! Speaking of walking, when I do, my abdomen gets really hard like braxton hicks but it lasts kind of longer than ones I've been having without walking. Not harmful right? Today it actually felt a little crampy too and I'm not sure if that's progress. When I was done and sat down, nothing continued.
@Pinecone21 I too have been fooled by poop cramps! Damn them! Thanks for your thoughts on getting checked. I don't know why I'm so nervous. A freaking baby is going to have to come out of there. Haha.

That's exactly where I was at 41 weeks 1 day, so I'd consider it good news for exactly 40 weeks. I've got an appointment this afternoon. I can share a State of the Cervix to let you know how far I progressed over 4 days.
Re: Still pregnant and trying to be Zen not miserable. Anyone else? Come in!

As a former trying-to-find-zen mamma, I just have to say it is all worth it, so just keep trucking.
My new fight for zen is in the breast feeding department. I think I can, I think I can!
Happy labor thoughts ladies!

@AnonymousMotherOfOne YAY DONUTS!! Glad you made it to the oil change on time. :-)
@Anneplusone let us know how the acupuncture goes....I might consider that......
@pinecone21, no, tell yourself that they're moving you along! Good cramps! Yay!
