Still pregnant and trying to be Zen not miserable. Anyone else? Come in!

So much for staying zen today. SGR!

My Dr looked at my swollen legs, consistently increasing BP & the small amount of protein in my urine & sent me to OB to get an NST & some other tests done. My small town hospital doesn't have a room for NST's, they just throw you into a birthing suite! My plan of having a relaxing day backfired. I've already had to cancel my pedicure appointment, and hopefully everything checks out well & I can be released in time to hit up my hair appointment at 3.

Apparently all that's needed to get sent to L&D is making plans for the day & night!

I feel pretty calm about it. I'm staying zen. This is a 'better safe than sorry' visit.

@sanibel21 the membrane stripping couldn't happen due to my cervix being an ironclad fortress.

@pepperedmoth‌ ooooh I think I'll try the Big Mac one today. I'm kind of sick of pineapple after I ate a whole container of fresh stuff from the store yesterday. XD And possibly walking, but we'll see how that goes once I'm done with this oil change.

P.S. Baby Amelia says hello from the inside. I keep telling her we've had this discussion time and again; if you want out, there's a door right by your head! Use it! My ribs aren't going to magically disappear for you!

@Sanibel21‌ thanks! I'm glad I could make you lose your tea! I'm a wuss, so I just took capsules of the stuff! I'm sure all the tests will check out just fine. I feel like its a 'better safe than sorry' kind of running tests day. I told my husband I'm at the hospital, but to just keep working. It'll all most likely turn out to be nothing. There's no point in him missing out on more hours than necessary.

OMG @NanaCook!  This is me, too!  Well, coming from my MIL specifically.  She was on the phone with DH just saying how she couldn't understand why I wouldn't want to just schedule something!  ???!!!!!???  She's acting like I'm in danger or something.  I think SHE is having issues with the uncertainty of it.  WTF, lady!?!  I'm not even to my due date yet and my first went 11 days over so if you're surprised I'm still pregnant, that's your issue!

In fact, my zen is that me being pregnant and (likely) going past due is freaking my MIL out.  Hah hah hah.  Cook, baby, cook!  In fact, MIL has decided that she is coming to town this weekend (Fri-Mon, I think) because it's my due date "just in case" (she IS the care for DD).  So now I just hope the baby DOESN'T come this weekend because she's being a lunatic about it.  She also gave DH a semi-guilt trip of "you're just going to make me turn around and come back..."  Yes, because we can control these things.  Andplusalso, YOU are the one who wanted to come this weekend....if you choose to come and the baby doesn't, that's not my fault...  

On the flip side, I've scheduled some appts for this week (mani/pedi tomorrow and cat to the vet on Thurs) and have sort of planned the dinner menu for the week and bought food so just maaaaaaaybe something will happen to screw all that up!

I'm worried DD isn't going to get fed and I'm not even going to know when this other child is born.  I'm addicted.  (Maybe I can use it to get thru labor....IDK....)

(For a little more info before you click on the link, it's sort of a number/logic puzzle thing.  I've already been working on my strategy...  NOTHING is going to get done around here now....)

Thanks! I'm hoping so too. At my last check I was 2cm and 30%effaced. She's not dropping so it's like all those contractions weren't doing squat. But, tomorrow is a new day so who knows.

My due date isn't until Saturday. Obviously, I want him to come when he's ready, but if he came this week I would be so happy because I could stop working and I am so ready to be done! If he goes past his due date is it totally weird to hope he comes more than a few days late so I have a couple of days work free to get stuff done around my house and enjoy the last few days of quiet? If it wasn't for the heartburn issues and the general discomfort that comes at the end, I'd say let him stay in there awhile longer lol

Not weird at all! I planned on working up until my due date and couldn't so kudos to you. I don't blame you for wanting time to get things done. I've found that with being home, if I'm not sleeping then I'm nesting and cleaning EVERYTHING... And I am not one to excessively clean.

Hah! This is totally me! I'd love not to have to work my full week this week. OR next week for that matter.

@sanibel21 I said I would work up until LO arrives as well. NOT looking forward to it. I'm so dazed from not sleeping last night, I'm not at all productive.

had my weekly appt this morning 40+2. since some are sharing cervix states, I'll share that I was at 1cm three weeks ago, 2cm two weeks ago, 3 cm one week ago, and am still at 3cm this morning 60-70% effaced. I did an NST today for the first time, and baby was moving great and I AM having contractions!  I feel them, but thought they were rib kicks.  Either way, these contractions aren't doing anything to move things along based no change week to week. So anywho, we have an eviction date this Friday!  I am of course hoping he comes before this. OB swept the membranes today too.

Maybe it's time to get back to Zen and go walk around the mall with a chocolate milkshake! Maybe I will take a nap first.

We've tried nipple stimulation...but not with the pump (it hasn't come yet), and have seen no progress. Let me know if the pump makes the difference. We also looked at the eveing primrose oil, but I didn't want to put anything "up there" without talking to my MW first (which was what I read you needed to do for that).

I said I'd work til LO is born too and I'm hating life right now. Totally haven't been at all productive....especially now that my back pain is constant and won't let up.

I'm not excited at the thought of getting an induction date at my next appointment. I'm afraid I'll go against what I want and let them schedule ASAP instead of as far away as possible.

I also need a nap.

I wholeheartedly believe that if this little bug decides to wait a week or more to come out, I may get desperate enough to try using my breast pump to attempt induction. I'd rather that over pitocin, since that sounds like it just leads to a higher risk of interventions being needed. I'm off to McDonald's to try a Big Mac for the first time in years because I want this munchkin OUT.

My overdue state is complicated... According to my ticker (and 3 different ultrasound techs who I saw at 6weeks, 8weeks, and 12weeks) I am 41w1d... According to my LMP and MW I am 40w2d... Either way I'm overdue lol. Feeling pretty comfortable tho today.... I have a huge to do list (order shutterfly book, pay bills, re-arrange furniture, clean dining room, finish filing away papers...). If I finish then the LO can arrive whenever he wants!! haha

Thanks! You're right on the due date. I am scheduling every appt I can this week to fill up the days. I am feeling so left out on the board other than in this post because everyone is talking about their babies and I'm like, yup, still knocked up with nowhere to go!

Not sure about this walking thing anymore. My sister and mom wanted me to come to the mall to walk around, and my mother ended up going in to get her hair done right before I got here even though she knew I was almost here already. Wtf? And people keep side eyeing me because they see the bump and no ring on my finger. The ring doesn't fit anymore, bozos! Keep yo judgin' eyes to yourself!
