Longest Thread EVER! (aka Random Thoughts Thread )

Sooooo let me start off by saying that my in-laws are crazy on many levels. Many, many levels.
They live in the same town as we do but we only see them once a month or so. Because they're crazy.
Ok, so we went over tonight and I sit down and MIL brings me baked goods. Off to a good start. Later, we are just catching up on random stuff and I mentioned our TdAP shots. DH had never been immunized for anything, but had no negative reaction. I of course was the one who had a pretty nasty reaction (arm is STILL swollen a bit) but that's not the point. The point is, FIL immediately goes on a rampage about how horrible vaccines are, which I interrupt (in an attempt to prevent what I knew was coming...) and mentioned that our LO will get only one vaccination per visit to the doc to help monitor reactions (again, not the point of this post). Well, that didn't work, and the next words out of his mouth were "well, you know, studies have shown that vaccines cause autism..."

And then I died.

@pineconey dear god I would have bit my tongue OFF trying not to say something. And I thought I had it bad today-

Step-MIL and FIL came over and they're always sort of debbie downers about things, even though I actually really like them. Well they were asking about due date and I mention that she's due the 4th but the latest date will be the 11th because that's when the c/s is scheduled for.

Well SMIL starts saying, the reason they have to do so many c/s now is for liability reasons, so I mentioned that our hospital is one of the few that will let me try for a VBAC. She starts saying 'well that's because you've already been opened up there and that scar just wants to tear back open' etc etc and that it's not so much a risk to the baby but VBAC is so dangerous for the mom blah blah.

I didn't have the energy to argue it. DH was just glad I know that's just how she is and didn't let it get to me.

These are the people that when we came to tell them we were pregnant, they first said they already knew (DH's sister told people) and then start asking us about our finances (which have been and still are fine.) Just the way they are.

This is hilarious! When our cat was a kitten, he used to climb up into our box spring and sleep. The problem is, he would start playing and wake us up at night. We finally put cayenne pepper around the edge of the hole. He never climbed up there again.

Normally when I'm done shaving my legs, I take my tweezers and pluck out any hairs I may have missed. I never feel anything when I do, usually, but I do now and it hurts. I think that's a sign that a bikini wax/Brazilian is not going to happen before D-day. >.>

Edit: Wrong friggin' word, bleh.

Over 500 posts today! I just can't catch up! Stressful and irritating day today. I emotionally overdid it today and starting having some painful contractions (BH?) and had to lay down, relax and drink water to get them to subside. Feeling much better though.
I HAVE to get my Thank You cards finished and addressed at some point today! I know if I don't get them out before LO is here I will never do it! HOLD ME ACCOUNTABLE A14!

Re parent and technology: this whole concept baffles me that parents don't know how to turn on a computer or text. I feel like its more resistance then not knowing how. I mean ffs my 80 yr old grandpa uses Facebook, texts, and for his birthday last we we gave him a kindle fire. If he can learn at his age, anyone can.

Ahhhh only 4 days left of work for me!! Ahhhhh!!

I was just talking to DH about that next Tuesday would be a perfect time for sesame to come, that way he is back from his trip, ill be 38 weeks and wont be bored out of my mind. I then said to sesame "see you next tuesday" and was immediately horrified at what I said!! DH didn't get it!

If this baby is waiting til the weather is spring-like, she's going to be there until June. It's -25*c with the windchill (-13*f?) today and we're expecting 25cms (almost 10 inches) of snow this Wednesday!!!! Will the winter ever end?!?!

I had to walk my mom through how to print screen the other day, we've had computers in the house since I was 8... That is19 years Mother.

So the alarm didn't go off this morning but luckily, not really, I was so uncomfortable I woke up at about 6am. My convo with DH went something like this...
Me: babe we overslept, get up.
DH: No, it's Sunday.
Me: Is it? I thought it was Monday.
DH: It's Sunday.
Me: Um ok. I guess I don't have to go to work.
DH *checks phone* aww shit it is Monday, lie to me phone! LIE!

I wish we had thought it was Sun so I did not go into work, they would have given me a sick day and thought I was in labor lol. Curse you Monday!!

Yea. Its beyond stupid. I am listening to all of the recordings on Spotify of the 3rd movement of Rachmininoff's Symphonic Dances to see if they let the gong ring at the end. I finished that. They all let the gong ring. I'm sure you'll all sleep better knowing that.

Now I'm listening to all of the Ravel Daphnis and Chloe suites to see if they use choir or not. Its a storm outside, I'm on leave, and I'm BORED! LOL.

This all sounds like something I would have done at music camp when I was a teenager.

( Today was my sleep in day!!! I've been up at work hours all weekend and all I wanted today was a lie-in. Instead, I've been up since four. Normally when I have to use the bathroom in the middle of the night I can get back to sleep in ~20 mins. Tonight none of my tricks are working. And now Baby has figured out that I'm awake and just lying here and has decided to start playing steel drums on my abdomen. I'd rather have this on a day when I'm up at six, because I'd I get up now I'll have nothing to do. Why Pregsomnia, whyyyyyyy?

All of this tech talk makes me wonder what I'm not going to know how to do in 30 years! Seriously, I'm already falling behind and I am usually pretty with it, technology-wise.

Can't tell if I was having contractions last night or if it was just something weird... Didn't help that I was super hazy being half asleep. Nothing this morning though. It wasnt my whole abdomen it was only pain really low, like the under part of my belly down to my crotch. Oh well. It was weird.

I'm also confusing myself saying "oh I want her to come now!" But knowing how much more convenient it would be if she just waited a week more. I'm impatient one second and perfectly content the next. So much confusion.

I'm sure most anyone else in our financial situation (we have been making under 30K a year as I was the only one working FT, but DH just started a FT job making slightly less than I was making) would keep working, but child care costs would leave me making like $400/mo. Not worth it. I'd rather stay home with my kid and pinch pennies elsewhere.

TMI: What in the hell?? SO has been ignoring my boobs basically this whole pregnancy, ever since they started hurting early on from growth (that has basically subsided). This morning he actually rubbed one a LITTLE - honestly, barely, and certainly nothing overly exciting or even too much friction (and no tweaking, etc!) but then I am driving to work and my nipple is KILLING ME. Burning, hurting...what in the samhill is going on??!!??!!

Ugh that sucks! My SO does not understand the term "gentle." He is so into my boobs and after we have sex it hurts to shower because the water hitting my nipples.

I had my first dream about delivery last night. I didnt get to see Carter because he went straight to the nursery, Patrick was adorable though. But then I started panicking because I forgot to text @SLSchuerg‌ to update everyone on the bump! Then I remembered I forgot to text my family and friends, too. Only the in-laws knew. But all i cared about was @SLSchuerg‌. Stressful!!!
