  • I shampood all of the carpets today. That means I'll have a baby tomorrow, right?!

I think if I shampoo the carpets, I'll break my water on them.
I will be so mad if that happens.

We shampooed the basement carpets and our dog had diarrhea all over them the next day. The. Next. Fucking. Day. :(

    I would be livid!
  • After having minimal (for me) contractions every 8-10 mins all week, today they start getting painful and every 3 mins apart again... It's like this kid is just plain against me working. We will see what happens tonight. Either come or don't come, but don't keep making me guess kiddo!

I will be having my phone near by!! ;)

If I ate pineapple and threw it up, does it still count? To be fair, I was eating it because it's delicious, not because I'm trying to induce.
I bought pineapple today too.  Also not to induce labor but for us to have pineapple fried rice.  Btw @mrscrcalli I get my grocer guy to core my pineapple for free so I don't have to cut it.  Ok, so they do that for everyone but I still feel special!

We had pineapple and teriakyi chicken tonight. After we ate I was all, "ohhh no! What did I do?!"

I was just checking them out on eBay. Saw some for cheap! About to order now!
  • I'm pretty sure this baby is nocturnal. :((
  • Do you think if I just squish my belly baby will get the hint and get this show on the road?

    Our dryer wont spin. WTF.

I feel your pain. The washer here doesn't do the rinse cycle so you have to babysit it and then restart the first cycle to "rinse" your clothes then manually put it on the spin cycle. So annoying.

In other news, drunk people at baby showers are incredibly annoying. Who gets drunk a baby shower anyways?

  • @hbell12‌ - That's strange. I never understood why booze is served at baby showers. My hostess ran out of faux champagne mimosas after I had only drank one. But good news: she had bought 5 bottle of regular champagne for everyone else. I drank water while they all drank mimosas.

I was at a wedding shower today where they had a mimosa bar--orange mimosas, grapefruit mimosa, and pineapple mimosa. I was ready to pour myself one when I got intercepted by the groom's sister who offered me a glass of plain OJ. I mean, I'm glad I finally look pregnant, but I wanted my damn mimosa!!

    Was alcohol served?

Even if it was... Still in appropriate

I had my carpets professionally cleaned this last week and DS threw up on them twice yesterday. He almost never throws up.  I'm not really upset about it because, well of course that would happen. Just glad it wasn't the cats crapping on it or something. My water will probably break on it too. Whatever- the carpet guys got years of pet hair out which is what I wanted it for anyway!

@Sisimama10 this LO is too! She's already a total night owl!

There wasn't a ton of booze so I'm shocked at how drunk they were! There were two choices of wine and that's it. I'm more annoyed that I had to be their ride home (because they were drunk) and sit around for 3 additional hours while they cleaned up their act.
  • What's wrong with alcohol at baby showers? One person is pregnant, so the 30+ guests shouldn't be able to enjoy a glass of wine?

I went to a wedding once where the groom had a broken ankle. Didn't mean dancing was cancelled for everyone else...lol.

Getting drunk is obviously offside, but wine and cupcakes is pretty much the only thing that gets me through baby showers when I'm a guest. ::shrugs::

Agreed. I had a baby shower today (gasp! The etiquette gods will be angry ;)) and one lady was totally hammed. She was being annoying was the only reason it bothered me...

  • I guess it was weird in my case because my friends all drink like we're 21 still. So it wasn't so much the fact that there was any booze there, it's that 8 people took down 5 bottle of champagne and there was a lack of drinks for the pregnant women (myself and another girlfriend). I have only been to a couple baby showers before, but mine was the first I've seen booze at, actually.
  • Tummy keeps getting tight, but I really can't tell if it's a contraction or if it's just baby boy pushing himself around. Trying to time whenever it gets tight, but it's so random at this point.

This! We went for a (very) short walk in a park near our house today and definitely had a few legitimate contractions but most of the time at this point I am like, could be, could be he's just stretching in there, guess I will assume they are going to be obvious when it's go time.
  • I totally had real mimosas at a baby shower a month ago. Shit, I was even the one that popped open the champagne to get things going! Lol!

In other news, I don't understand how my inlaws fuck up technology so bad sometimes. And forget all their passwords. And then assume we know how to fix it.

DS has bed shared all weekend, but for tonight (last night away) I'm making DH sleep with him so I can get a better nights sleep. I think DH fell asleep with him upstairs already. :)

OLD PEOPLE + TECHNOLOGY...ahmahgad don't even get my started. My mom is the worst! This video sums it up perfectly:

My mom used to wait all day for me or my brother to get home from school to turn on the computer for her. She's better-ish now.

My mom just got a smartphone this year. I love it that she texts now. Sooo much easier to stay in touch, since I'm almost totally anti-phone.

We've thought about getting my Mom a smartphone, but she barely knows how to use her old school flip phone. I've shown her how to check her voicemail tons of times and she still panics when someone leaves her a voicemail. She's very smart, but technology and her just do not mix!!!

  • Uh-oh, DH is getting sick with a sore throat, headache, achiness.  I am too close to my due date to catch any sickness.  I may have to send him to the guest room until he is feeling better.

  • DH came home with a burger for me and we had a good talk :) glad I have RTT to vent to!

My mom just discovered emojis and tries to express her feelings with them all the time. Her personal favs are the poo and baby emojis at the end of every text regarding my pregnancy or baby.

The poo emoji is a staple of mine and DH's texts. It's usually next to a heart or the smoochy face.
  • My MIL writes text messages like emails and it drives me nuts! They always are at least six sentences long and include 3 or more questions. We've tried to explain that texts are conversations and emails are letters, but she still does it.
