Man..... I'm trying to refinish the dresser for the nursery and it's being a pain in the ass. DH royally messed it up yesterday by putting WAY too much stain on so I had to sand it down and repaint today. Just now a bird decided to poop on it after I had put a fresh coat of paint on and I accidentally spray painted my entire foot. We should have just gone to IKEA.
I'm feeling extra stabby and emotional but I'm not sure if I'm overreacting. DH has been working on starting a band and has been out all day with his new friends. He left about 10:30 and now it's 5:40 (so dinner alone I'm guessing?) Then tomorrow he works at 5am, has class, then will be doing more band stuff afterwards...so won't get home until 10/11PM.
I understand wanting to follow your passion but it's just been hurting my feelings. Yeah, I'm boring now but I don't feel that I deserve to just be left alone all the time and eating dinner by myself. Whenever I bring it up, he gets super defensive and makes it seem like I'm not being supportive.
And today he even told me to not call him while he's with the guys unless I know for sure I'm in labor. Because last week, I called him to say I needed the car to take the dog to the vet when she was really sick and he was embarrassed apparently.
He was always passionate about music when we were dating and playing, which I think is awesome. I just didn't expect it to be like this.
So here's one for you! I had a friend randomly drop by with her toddler. I really wanted to send her away but I know she drove an hour. Yes, her bad, but whatever I couldn't turn her away.
Her kid was such a monster and made me so irritated and nervous. She was banging on the baby's swing with dirty cookie hands, she took my entire diaper caddy apart, pulled wipes out of the box, tried to "pat the baby" but it was more like hitting. When I changed him she was standing over him and practlly kicking him. She also stole his paci and put it in her mouth (it's now in the garbage).
She then took one of our heave coasters and threw it on the coffee table, leaving a big scratch on our table.
Why would you let your child act like this!?!? I know I don't have a 2 year old yet, but her behavior was totally unacceptable to me, and if Lucas was acting like that we would be out the door.

Hmmmm....I have no clue! But I certainly hope my 2 year old doesn't do this. Didn't the mom bring some of her own toys and stuff for her to do?

Oh man! Brutal. DH's friends have a 2 year old that did almost the same stuff! They came over, she bashed all our coasters off our table, she drew on our beige dining room chairs with a marker and then ate an entire bowl of chips that was out for our guests. Her mom didn't do ANYTHING! She just watched her. Oy.
I know we shouldn't judge and all that, but if you are letting your 2yr old run amok and not doing ANYTHING about it then yeah, I will side eyes you! Even an apology or acknologement of the behavior is better than NOTHING!

Angel baby June 2013, DD born 22 April 2014, BFP 10 Sept 2015 - Due 22 May 2016
Thanks @dani for the suggestion, bringing food is a good idea esp since it'll show that I AM being supportive. It's just hard for us both to sit down and talk about it because he gets so defensive fast. But we definitely need to before the baby comes.
@Mamamonzo so unacceptable for any child to act that way in someone else's home. If it was my child we would have left. My DD is 2 and wouldn't dream to act like that much less in public. How sad for that kid and pathetic for the mom. She should know the kind of environment that your trying to maintain for your newborn:( sorry that sounds brutal.

Wtf man! You should have asked no told her that she needs to control her kid in your house. How does she not know that she shouldn't have her two year old causing that kinda trouble while visiting someone's home especially with a new born? She was completely inconsiderate and had it been one of my friends I would have said something. I'm so sorry. That must've put a damper on your day. Especially since you've been turning down visitors. Did she show up unannounced?

I had a visit like this when DD was born. Except it was a first and second grader destroying my house and jumping on my couches. It was so stressful! If DD acted like that at anyone's house, I don't care if we had driven five hours, we would leave.
How did my face get fatter overnight.. Pregnancy is a tricky little lady
This. Friday I thought I looked pretty with a navy dress and grey open sweater. I was even telling DH how I was so happy my face still looked like my face, when last time I was a chunker. Saturday I woke up and showered and holy hell my face looks five times larger. DH said it looked the same to him. :-S

After having minimal (for me) contractions every 8-10 mins all week, today they start getting painful and every 3 mins apart again... It's like this kid is just plain against me working. We will see what happens tonight. Either come or don't come, but don't keep making me guess kiddo!
This has been the strangest day ever. DH got up just after 4 because he couldn't sleep. I got up at 10:15ish so we knew we wouldn't make it to church and didn't bother rushing around. We went back to bed at like 11ish and slept until around 1:45 I think. Then DH worked on making breakfast and I cut pineapple, snacking as I went. Cue me barfing up the pineapple, peeing on the floor and upholstered chair in the process. Now I feel hungover. Thankfully breakfast was still tasty. DH is showering now and we are gonna hit Costco. Wondering if he will actually be able to sleep tonight after our lazy day...

That is absolutely unacceptable! I don't even know what else to say to that.
What did the girls mother do while all this happened?
Shiiiit I made the mistake of leaving this thread. I'm having like crazy preggo rage at someone who just did that "I'm laughing at all you FTMs saying never..." thing. Fuck off. You know what I know as a STM? If I cared enough about something before I had kids, I made it work. Some things I realized I didn't care enough about to fight, but when I cared, I stuck to my guns. I hate that condescending BS.
Gah, and I just broke my own sanity preserving rules about not discussing mommy war crap.
I have bed shared and co-slept and that statement still made me defensive and ragey. I hate when people make obnoxious comments like that.
^^ This. I do it but thats because I'm comfortable with it. But I would never tell another parent/soon to be parent, " never say never" or "just you wait". Just because it works for me doesn't mean it will work for you.

I don't give a flying fuck how you feed your kid, where your kid sleeps or where moms sleep.
As for that poll, the reason no kids go in my bed is because i'm a selfish bitch and hate sharing my bed. Do i judge anyone who does bed share? No fucking way. Do what you want. The end.

That is extremely rude and there is no reason for any child to behave that way, especially in someone else's house. Sorry you had to deal with that.

Yes but I was more concerned that I also looked like a whale Friday when I thought I was looking good. Pregnancy is such a bitch.

Soo, we have a cat! He's the most friendly, talkative cat...with us. No one else has ever seen him - he hides whenever anyone comes over. He also found a hole in the fabric under the box spring of the bed and likes to sleep in there. Anyways! We got a new mattress delivered this weekend and when the delivery guys moved the old mattress, the cat was sleeping in the box spring. He kind of rolled out from the bed and onto the floor, frozen in terror. He was completely frozen stiff on his side, laying on the floor! The delivery guy literally jumped like 10 ft and yelled "IS THAT THING DEAD!?" LOL. DH picked the cat up and was like "What?? No!! We are not hoarders!"
Sigh, you probably had to be there. But, I can't stop laughing about it!
I woke up with the best intentions today. It was sunny and a balmy 40 I think.
I started a major clean up of our bedroom! Well the room is clean and mopped but I just moved the unfolded laundry to the hallway... Plus I have the dirty laundry in the hallway... It is a mess! I've only done three loads of laundry....
Then I walked the dog and now I don't have the energy to put anything away... I felt really productive but I feel like nothing is really done!

So I had a really nice day out. I've mentioned before that the baby's father will not be in the picture. Feeling in the dumps lately, so a really good guy friend of mine treated me out to IHOP for brunch and took me to Target to get a few things for LO. As these last 3 weeks wind down I am feeling the slightly overwhelmed. I believe nesting is my coping mechanism...lol. Cleaned out some closets today and rearranged the laundry room, and the dog got a bath.

DH just said, "You havent told me any bump stories lately!" As I was reading this. Thank you for sharing. How hilarious!!! And DH got his story

Hahahahahaha I find this incredibly funny. I'm picturing it like in a sitcom, laughed outloud and then a curious DH wanted to see what was so funny, and he laughed too. Awesome.
Wife to A; Mama to C (2009), N (2011), H (2014) & baby F due 09/16/16
I was hugging DD yesterday and she started hiccuping while the baby inside of me had the hiccups at the same time. I told her she was going to make my belly explode hiccuping on both sides.
Lamb worked out in the end. Packaging directions lied though. It was in the oven for the stated time and when I cut it apart, it was almost raw. Finished them in a pan and then it was great!
I felt kindof like a contestant on Chopped. "I've never cooked this before, what do I do? Shit. That didn't work... must save dinner!" Except if I was a chef, I'd know how to cook lamb.
I realized I just used up all the greek yogurt on the cucumber salad I made though and now I won't be able to make my normal dessert smoothie thing. That's how I get my daily prunes, so I hope I can still poop tomorrow.
I wouldn't know how to cook that either! Glad it came out well in the end. DH is cooking the lamb curry as we speak. Hopefully it's not so spicy that I can't eat it. Or go into labor
