In yesterday's thread about getting out of the house with the kids, I saw multiple people mention that they go to museums. What kind of museums do you have by you? Are they specifically kid-oriented places, or other things? I don't think we have any near us that would be good to take kids to, but maybe I don't know what to look for.

Re: Taking kids to museums
Hands-on kids museums like Habitot.org and Baykidsmuseum.org, Chabotspace.org, Calacademy.org, Lawrencehallofscience.org, Exploratorium.edu, Randallmuseum.org, CDM.org
I could seriously go on and on!
If you want a FUN vacation with kids, come to San Francisco/Bay Area - you could go to a different museum everyday for 2 weeks with no repeats!
