June 2011 Moms

Hi! Haven't been around in a while...

I miss posting and responding to posts!

Things have been absolutely crazy lately.  Lucy has been having all kinds of issues lately.  She is now on day 7 of crazy vomitting and diarrhea.  She also has a double ear infection, and pedi has confirmed that all four of her molars are coming in.  It's been HORRIBLE!  Also, I am really big and uncomfortable these days.  My OB thinks I have about 3 weeks left (based on how things went with Lucy).

Anyway, just wanted to check in and say hi and I miss you guys and hopefully I will be around a little more regularly soon.

Also, are any of you dealing with a milk/soy/gluten allergy?  Seems that's what's happening with Lulu.

Re: Hi! Haven't been around in a while...

  • Welcome back!

We have been dealing with the milk/soy intolerance/allergy for a long while. If you avoid those two, by default you will end up avoiding gluten for the most part.

Before Avery was diagnosed we dealt with constant vomit and loose stools. Within about 3 days of an elimination diet he was a happy baby and his vomit drastically reduced. Within about 2 weeks he had stopped vomitting. We use Hemp and Almond Milk instead of formula or cows milk and he doesnt mind it at all. There are several of us that are dealing with MFPI, MSPI, and Food Allergies, so please feel free to ask questions.

I cannot believe you only have 3-5 more weeks.

OMG I can't believe you're almost done!! Crazy.

Yes Martin has MSPI. It's bad enough that he'll have bloody stools and his face will get red and irritated by WCM formula or yogurt or cheese, but not so bad that he has to be on Neocate and it's not anaphylactic.

  • DS has a gluten intolerance/allergy.  He will spend about two hours crying inconsolably after having gluten.  The worst was with oatmeal before bed.  He was up screaming all night.  We will try again when he's about 18 months and see if he still has issues.  For now, he's going GF.

I've found a lot of GF options, too.  Nature's Path makes an organic GF version of Cherios and Happy Baby makes two kinds of GF puffs.

Poor Lucy, I hope she's feeling better soon.

Hang in there mama!  We are here for you!  Glad to see you around!

  • Thanks guys.  I'm just at my wits end about Lucy and her issues.  It's really breaking my heart and I think our pedi sucks.  I think I will write a post about it later.  For now, I am so exhausted I can't even think or type straight :/
