Speaking of pee, I have to pee so bad right now, but I am afraid if I stand up this baby is going to plop on my bladder and I might not make it down the hall. Wish me luck. Here I go...
@LiteraChick no burn, I literally had no idea I had anything wrong. The nurse that called said if I'm still peeing a ton, that might have something to do with it (I am) and if I have back pain as well (I do).. they're giving me antibiotics to get rid of it.
eta: they found it through routine pee testing.
This happened to me once about seven years ago. I went in for anxiety and got a call back two days later that oh PS you have a UTI. I had no idea, no burn or anything. The abx did give me a terrible yeast infection (TMI). That's the only time I've ever had a UTI.
@aliletz - Uristat helps with the uncomfortable burning when ya pee feeling. Be careful though, it turns your urine bright orange and it's a dye so don't wear your fav skivvies. I used to get them every other year or so until I learned the trick of peeing immediately after having sex. Hope you feel better soon!
Thanks for mentioning this! I told our ER patients this all the time because some of the poor girls were miserable with recurrent UTIs. They always looked shocked, but it's true!! It'll help, I promise!
Just had a too close for comfort encounter with the stbxh at our dentist office. Thoughtful wife that I am scheduled our appts on the same day and luckily I remembered it. I called ahead and the nurses all secret agent style helped me dodge him by telling me to wait in the parking lot til he was gone. Broke my heart when I saw him walk to his car though. Divorce sucks.
Also, can't help but think he asked for the same secret agent crap as I did.
I am having second thoughts about our name choice. this stuff is hard, yo!
We had originally decided on Madelyn Ann (MN is a family name and will be used no matter what). But everyone (including myself) is shortening it to Maddie. I don't hate the name Maddie, but it's not what I fell in love with. I have also slipped up a couple of times and called her Lexi (the girl name we had picked out for DS). These two things just make me want to revisit the name board. *sigh*
@literachick totally always pee after sex. I've heard horror stories!
@zerozeroone funny, they actually said my last sample came back off as well... That was two months ago. But yeah since the symptoms are also pregnancy symptoms the nurse said most pregnant women don't know they have UTIs.
@allietz I had the same thing happen! My OB just called in a prescription for antibiotics and the pharmacy called to say it was ready. I was like..."for what?!" Had to google! And I've had UTIs before so it was extra confusing to have different/easier symptoms.
@abchittam I'm going through the same thing with the same name! We want her to be Madeleine, but we ruled out Madison so she wouldn't be a Maddie and because its so popular. Now we keep calling her Maddie. Doh! We still love the name though...hopefully we can come up with a few alternates to take to the hospital.
@missquela - we aren't going to rule it out just yet. I think I just need reassurance that I'm either making the right choice or need to change it. DH and I have such a hard time agreeing on names that I don't want to settle. We settled on DS's name because it was the only thing we could agree on, but this is my little girl and I NEED it to be perfect! it is also our last child. Too much pressure!!!
When do people usually take prenatal classes through their hospital? There are all kinds of "sign up early these classes fill up!" Notices on our hospitals website
I've been wondering that too..... I think it suggests (on my local University's website) about 6 months. I know you can tour hospitals too, but that's depending on how often they do them (mine is once a month)
Good call. I think I'll try and get them in within the next 6 weeks then.
I have another random thought. I rapid fire ate 2 handfuls of cheezits then fell asleep on the couch still wearing my coat with my phone in my hand (I was mid bumping).

I've never even had a UTI (that I know of), but have always peed right after sex for fear of getting one. I have to pee often enough (even while not pregnant), I don't need it to burn when I do go!
our shower drain has been backed up.. DH stopped at lowes to get a snake for the drain, he came home with a ginormus one and a smaller one.. he just came in to show me what he found.. didn't even need either snake.. a freaking 24inch mass of long brown hair roped together hanging off the screw of the lid.. i want to vomit, thank god he can do that because i don't have the stomach for things that are down the drain.... gross.

Uristat is one of the more amusing meds I've taken in my life. After being on it and being amused by the color of my pee enough to exclaim it to the entire house (what can I say, I'm a child), when my baby brother asked for a drink, I made him a warm glass of orange koolaid... his look of uncertainty was PRICELESS.
*ahem* yea, I know I just lost all maturity points for that one.

Our class is actually this SUnday, we're going for their all-day intensive course. April and May were filled, but wouldn't have worked for us anyways- I teach on Saturdays and March was the only date where class was on a Sunday. They recommended 2-3 months before delivery, so we're a tad ahead of it, but we registered two months ago to get the date we wanted.

I'm glad you mentioned this! I was able to register tonight for the only class our hospital offered in our time frame. They only take the first 10 couples/people that register and the next class would extend past our EDD.
My 18 month old DD hasn't been sick since we did 4 days of hard time at the children's hospital when she was 10 weeks old for RSV. Now all of a sudden she has a wet cough and wanted to go to bed early tonight. I don't know if it would be overreacting to make an appointment with the pediatrician tomorrow or what. Probably, right? She just coughed a few times and I can tell she's awake although quiet.
I always struggle with when to call the pediatrician. You can call and get their advice and see if you need an appointment. DS has had an off and on cough and runny nose for a few weeks now, but otherwise he seems fine. He coughed a lot last night, I'm still holding off on calling the pediatrician.

Yuck! This is why you put the hair on the wall until after the shower and then throw it away.
NEVER IN MY LIFE has a Thursday felt so much like a Friday until today. My kids are being so ridiculous and it just really seems like today should be it for this week!

DH just got a job offer that would increase our quality of life greatly (less stressful job, more perks, tons more family time, normal work hours, no call outs, etc)but it'd be a bit of a hit financially and slightly less job security. He'd also have to work 5 more years in order to max out his retirement(to 55 instead of 50). We'd have to make some lifestyle changes to make up for the lost income and I'm freaking out over the whole thing. Our a/s is this afternoon and I'm thankful he brought all this up today so I'll have something to obsess over instead of the health and genitalia of our baby.
MOTHERFUCKING FUCKITY FUCK. Sometimes I just hate the people I work with. I work in an office at a University and pretty much run the department. I put a sign on my door that says, "closed for lunch", I am sitting at my desk watching Chicago PD and stuffing my face with spaghetti and people start coming in. Before long I have 6 people hanging out in my office talking to each other and over my tv show. I have faculty members asking me questions. I have grad students asking me questions. I delegated something to my GTA and he is filling out a form and for every single box he is asking me what to put in it. Uhhh, I could have done it myself by now!! Shut up! So, now it is 20 mins after my lunch break is supposed to end and my 40 min show is still not over. I am pissed and extremely happy that I am turning in my notice at the end of this month. Self centered, disrespectful bastards.

And that was a love it of support, Zarkarella. I can relate- before I left the FT gig, my office at the university where I teach was glass on all sides and next to the main door of the building. It was atrocious.

They just walk right on past that closed sign, don't they? No one gets that I AM NOT GETTING PAID during the lunch hour. If someone wants to give me $14, then I will talk to them during lunch.
@LiteraChick a newborn session gone wrong...who knows my friend sent me this as I'm having my first son after 3 girls and told me this may happen when she does my newbie session.

Updated. Made it. Barely.
