I have another AW...remember that position I applied for and got rejected? Well, the manager's boss liked me so much she referred me to another branch for the same position and they hired me!!! Yay! It's only like a dollar raise, but that will help when I have to go on STD and only make 65% of my pay!! Yay yay yay. It's been a weird year. I can't wait to tell them I'm KO :-P

Yay! So happy for you :) you go girl!
  • @literachick, we find out on Sunday so I don't know yet. The tech put the sex in an envelope and we are going to find out at dinner with our parents on Sunday. (We had a small cake made)

  • @LiteraChick At our 1st ultrasound she texted DH & made sure he knew to get her a copy of the picture. Our kid looked like a fish at that point! I love her, she has a good heart but she stresses me out sometimes. She's going to have a rude awakening when this baby arrives and there's nothing we can really do to soften the blow.

Also...found out I have an anterior placenta and I'm so annoyed that in addition to my late a/s, now I'm going to have to wait...indefinitely? ...to feel anything. ::pouting again::

    Right there with ya :(

  • Thank you. Reading that made me cry all over again. I'm a big snotty gross mess!

  • DH is stressed about a financial issue and his awful attitude has my anxiety through the roof. I wish he'd chill out.

Can I just vent here that dh's friend from work, who are we are friends with outside of work think it's 'ha ha' funny that she stole our boys name because she 'couldn't think of something else' (she had the baby a few days ago)

I am just furious. WTF - who does that to friends? She doesn't even care about the name - we have wanted it for YEARS and I'm frickin due in July, yet she uses it anyway

THIS is why we don't share the name with anyone, but he told her a few years ago in some sort of conversation and she threatened this whole pregnancy to 'steal' it - just so so not funny

  • thanks ladies :) yea we're keeping the name

she says it doesn't matter because she's moving to another state next year anyway

So I guess you're not a real friend then ARGH!!!

I told dh she is NOT coming to dd's b-day party (they came last year) as it's 2 weeks before our baby with the SAME FIRST NAME will be born *sigh*

I am totally being bitter and twisted about this and refuse to buy her a present for the new baby which I normall would do.

  • I'm a little grossed out by my ticker.  Cheesy baby?  Yes, I know it has a function, but ew.

  • Today is day 4 of traveling this week. I'm tired of fast food, airports and turnpike rest stop bathrooms. My husband works all weekend and I'm pouting that I'll be on my own with my toddler. I'm tired. We shall be visiting relatives both Saturday and Sunday so I can have help

  • Am I crazy for wanting to do an all white nursery?  My house is decorated pretty neutral.  A lot of white/cream/beige and gray.  Lauren's nursery is pale pink and gray and I'm thinking something like this for the new LO.

I love it and was thinking of doing this also. It's so peaceful and classic.
Funny Friendship Ecard: The doctor said I needed to start drinking more wine. Also, I'm calling myself 'the doctor' now.   Funny Confession Ecard: I have a constant internal battle about whether to be classy or give zero fucks.

I, on the other hand, am day-dreaming about my trip coming up in March. I can't wait to go eat all the sushi by myself. And sleep. Oh, sleep. I've missed it so.

The whole week that the apps compared LO to a "mango covered in cheese" was gag-worthy to me.

Thanks for the tip about the free glasses! I'm not in the mood to help my husband out right now, but I also don't to have to pay for glasses out of pocket.

My son was never attached to anything specific (blanket or toy) for the longest. Someone bought him a $35 stuffed giraffe his first Christmas that he had no interest in at the time. Eight months later, he decides that giraffe has to be with him at all times that he has a cup or goes to sleep. A backup "Gibby" is going to cost us $35. FML!
The company that made DD's special dog went out of business and I cannot find another Rufus to save my life. I guard that dog with such care.
I'm sorry you can't find another Rufus! :( have you tried eBay? If you will tell me what it's called, I will be happy to help search! I would hate to be in that boat. ETA: @sarahvol131

I have not looked on eBay! The company is Melissa and Doug's stuffed toy division that went defunct. It was a careless sweet just because gift from the father of our Godson. He saw it one day and thought Evie had to have it. She fell in love and its her thing!
What?!  Say it ain't so @SarahVol131!!  My DD has a Melissa & Doug stuffed puppy toy (looks like a golden retriever with a red bow which she has named Vada) that she adores and plays with constantly.  I picked it up on a whim at Winner's before her first car trip (gave it to her for being a good girl part way through the 4-1/2hr trip) and have never seen another one since.  Now I've got to be sure we never lose that puppy!

I absolutely *love* this.  My friend (who's never had children) told me that white plus poop handprints don't mix (thanks for that one), and the actual opinion that mattered was DH saying he's not a huge fan of monochromatic... which is basically him saying he hates it.

Actually I have really good news. So while the stuffed toy dept (it was under a different name but owned by M&D) went out of business they must have restructured and are now just under the M&D brand. I haven't looked in about a year or so, but last night I googled on a whim and there under M&D stuffed toys, sub category dogs was Evie's Rufus. I ordered an extra this morning. If you click stuffed dogs there are two pages of stuffed dogs. Evie's Rufus is formally named Bailey the St. Bernard! @kmawb @abichittam

PS It looks like Vada is the first on the list!

Thanks for that @SarahVol131, my DD has the Sunny Yellow Lab.  BTW Rufus (or Bailey) is adorable!

ETA:  F*ck, f*ck, f*ckity f*ck!! They don't ship to Canada!! So I'm still screwed if we ever lose that puppy!

I was in line for lunch today (catered, it's employee appreciation day here) and I had my hand on my belly and was talking to a friend and mentioned I was feeling LO.. this chick I don't like at all got all excited, and touched my belly, to which I replied:

I know we're supposed to be looking at your face in this pic, but the light is making it seem like your boobs are glowing and I can't stop looking at them instead.

Took the words outta my mouth!

Nope, I don't think you are crazy!  I am doing something similar to this photo: grey, white, silver and mint green.

On a side note, I follow the blog where this photo is from and I am a huge fan of Veronika's style.  I love it!
