My son was never attached to anything specific (blanket or toy) for the longest. Someone bought him a $35 stuffed giraffe his first Christmas that he had no interest in at the time. Eight months later, he decides that giraffe has to be with him at all times that he has a cup or goes to sleep. A backup "Gibby" is going to cost us $35. FML!
The company that made DD's special dog went out of business and I cannot find another Rufus to save my life. I guard that dog with such care.
I'm sorry you can't find another Rufus! :( have you tried eBay? If you will tell me what it's called, I will be happy to help search! I would hate to be in that boat. ETA: @sarahvol131

I have not looked on eBay! The company is Melissa and Doug's stuffed toy division that went defunct. It was a careless sweet just because gift from the father of our Godson. He saw it one day and thought Evie had to have it. She fell in love and its her thing!
What?!  Say it ain't so @SarahVol131!!  My DD has a Melissa & Doug stuffed puppy toy (looks like a golden retriever with a red bow which she has named Vada) that she adores and plays with constantly.  I picked it up on a whim at Winner's before her first car trip (gave it to her for being a good girl part way through the 4-1/2hr trip) and have never seen another one since.  Now I've got to be sure we never lose that puppy!
Actually I have really good news. So while the stuffed toy dept (it was under a different name but owned by M&D) went out of business they must have restructured and are now just under the M&D brand. I haven't looked in about a year or so, but last night I googled on a whim and there under M&D stuffed toys, sub category dogs was Evie's Rufus. I ordered an extra this morning. If you click stuffed dogs there are two pages of stuffed dogs. Evie's Rufus is formally named Bailey the St. Bernard! @kmawb @abichittam

Thanks for that @SarahVol131, my DD has the Sunny Yellow Lab.  BTW Rufus (or Bailey) is adorable!

ETA:  F*ck, f*ck, f*ckity f*ck!! They don't ship to Canada!! So I'm still screwed if we ever lose that puppy!

If you lose that puppy you buy it ship it to me and I will personally ship it to you in Canada!

Thanks @SarahVol131 & @Ylvelill for the replacement puppy offers.  If we ever lose it I know who to get in touch with!  :-*

In the meantime, I'll scour the toy stores here just in case!

Am I crazy for wanting to do an all white nursery?  My house is decorated pretty neutral.  A lot of white/cream/beige and gray.  Lauren's nursery is pale pink and gray and I'm thinking something like this for the new LO.

I think this is a beautiful room! However, I also have to think that a white chair is a really poor choice with postpartum bleeding and baby spit up. I have never had a child rub poop on anything in their nursery, so I wouldn't worry much about that :-)

  • It's 3:30 in the morning & I have been awake for an hour! I just want to go back to sleep!
  • I totally just peed through my pants after sneezing. I was sitting on our lovely z gallerie sofa. I mean, our now wet sofa. Sorry DH!
  • Downton Abbey isn't on Netflix anymore but I just found it on Amazon Prime for free. Woot! I know what I'm doing for the rest of the day and probably all day Monday!

  • Idk how we haven't gotten complaints about the noise level in our home yet. We're constantly blasting music, dancing and randomly singing opera. Our neighbors must hate us haha.

  • There are pics all over my fb of some of my dance friends on their, "Ski, Snowboard, and Salsa" weekend in VT. I haven't seen or talked to any of them since New Years, I wouldn't have gone to VT, I don't have any business skiing for the first time in 15 years while pregnant, and I don't have any interest in being out in the cold for that long. But I'm bummed that I wasn't invited.

In space, your urine floats in your bladder, so you have no sensation to pee until the extreme very last minute when your bladder is full and stretched to it's max capacity.

Thank you. The next time I'm in space, I'll remember that.

Lol random neat facts by ghost?

ETA: if you've seen spice world, then this totally reminds me of how Geri was constantly telling the rest of the group random fun facts haha. I loved it.
  • So after the gummi bear talk this morning, I really wanted gummi bears! I didn't tell anyone about this craving, but my mom magically appeared at my door with gummi bears just a few hours later. I of course had to check to make sure they weren't sugar free. ;)

  • My A/S isn't until 3/10 when I'll be 20 weeks but at my last checkup this past week the Doppler registered the heart rate at 145 bpm, it's always been more like 160/165 before ... I commented that it had really slowed down and my doc replied "Yah, it could be a boy. And you're carrying like its a boy. ". WHHHAAAAATT? Aren't docs supposed to be the rational ones that tell you not to read into little signs? Then I had a biometric screening for my work insurance and they did a blood draw. As I told the nurse taking my blood that story I said, "Aren't doctors the ones supposed to tell you those kinds of things aren't always true?" And she responds, "Well but she's right, it is true for heartbeats." So now I'm pulled between being excited that it's probably a boy and not wanting to get that set in my head bc I don't want to have an ounce of disappointment if A/S shows a girl.

  • My DH's coworker was moving today and asked for help loading/unloading the UHaul.  This is what I was told anyway.

Turns out, it was actually his girlfriends' apartment since they're now renting a house together, but he only has two backpacks of things (not at her apartment).  We got there at 10am... almost nothing was packed and/or ready to go.

All the windows in the apartment were open, so it was freezing cold.  The girlfriend went to get pizza and beer for the guys and apparently got in a fight with the Wegmans manager since she took her underage cousin (who showed up in a car, I think her bf was driving, with an open beer) with her.  She also went out to a derby (wtf?) while the rest of us were packing and moving her crap.  It took over 6 hours to pack the truck... and another 2-3 after we got to the new place to unload it.

I've been frozen since we left home this morning and can (finally) almost feel my toes again).  I should have just ditched DH, but I haven't gotten to see him this week since they switched schedules at work and he's now there from around 4p-2:30/3am.  :(
  • Sometimes I think I would rather have a boy just because it has got to be easier raising a boy to respect women then raising a girl and hoping that other people's sons respect her.

  • I know im being crazy but i hate ALL the baby shower thank you cards ive looked at and im not creative enough to create my own. And theyre so expensive!!
  • I hate my stbx-sister in law for not inviting me to her only sons first bday party today. Ok, I don't hate her but I do think it was very inconsiderate, even though I wouldn't have gone anyway.

    Judge me.

Spring beer batch - a honey ale. I just hate that I have to wait 4 weeks every time before I can enjoy it.

I hate when DH brews - the whole house smells like ass for a day. However, the result is definitely worth it. I really don't think you can go wrong with a homebrew. Do you use a kit, follow a recipe, or make up your own?

  • @alyssa719 what the hell is wrong with that woman?! I hope you broke some of her things while packing them.

This is EXACTLY how I feel about my friend who is getting married and having a weekend bachelorette party in Nashville. I mean, there's no way I'm going away for the weekend and bumming everyone out with my maternity pants and possibly changing my underwear 8 times a day.. but at least invite me so I feel like we're still friends.

I do the first one with a kit to get an idea of the general taste if I'm doing a new type, after that I adjust the recipe to my liking and get everything from a local brewshop.
there are two motivations in sports, which is yours?
