  • Work is really slow today. So I have spent 99 percent of my time on the Bump. I think I'm going to logoff and do a Bump Detox for a few hours.

We'll see how long this lasts.

    Stop.

Dammit bump! This is all I've been working toward! WTF, I can't be gold anymore and I'm not going to get badges for all my love tits! I HATE this place ::tantrum and storms out::

  • No but really. What's it all for then, if I can't at least get a little sticker for my accomplishments?

This is going to ruin my whole day, Jessa, lol.

@ghostof5letters I totally just searched for the SOA thread so I could tell the OP that I've watched a few more episodes and I'm now to episode 9 of season 1 and starting to enjoy it. Well it opened straight to your post of "Opie was my favorite and until he DIED!" Ahhhh!! *Facepalm* I can't believe I opened the thread. LOL I should have known better!

  • My son was never attached to anything specific (blanket or toy) for the longest. Someone bought him a $35 stuffed giraffe his first Christmas that he had no interest in at the time. Eight months later, he decides that giraffe has to be with him at all times that he has a cup or goes to sleep. A backup "Gibby" is going to cost us $35. FML!
The company that made DD's special dog went out of business and I cannot find another Rufus to save my life. I guard that dog with such care.

  • DS isn't attached to anything in particular. I actually find it kind of sad.

I USED to feel that way. I kept trying to make him attach to something because I thought it was cute. Now it's like, "guard that thing with your life unless you want to fork out $35 you don't have." My mom had a scare the other day where she lost Gibby for a little while so she is buying a back up to keep at her house. I just know the day is coming that it happens here.

I'm sorry you can't find another Rufus! :( have you tried eBay? If you will tell me what it's called, I will be happy to help search! I would hate to be in that boat.

  • Every time I eat something it always manages to fall on/in my cleavage. EVERY. SINGLE. TIME. Especially if it's in a semi-liquid form. Banana pudding? Yep. Ranches dressing with carrot sticks? You know it. A spoonful of cereal? Mm hmm. I'm such a klutz

While driving a few days ago, I dropped almost the entire contents of a corned beef reuben with sauerkraut into my cleavage and on the belly.  Don't you know, I had my BF hold the wheel while I fished it all out and stuffed it into my face.

(I don't usually do crazy messy while driving, it was a hellish day of running around, and this was a case where the baby made me do it). ;-)

I've loved Tiggy since day 1

My DH does that stuff... he put one in my car... and now the damn thing keeps freezing me to death.  He views this as "success".  I'm so glad we bought out house with central air and am afraid what will happen if/when it fails.  Our house will be an ice box... not joking.
  • I'm am totally going to do a big fancy SS AW post about my baby's sex after my sex scan. And Yes, it is a sex scan, they don't do anything as sophisticated as an actual A/S at my doctor's office. You only get a 20 week ultrasound if you want to find out the babies sex. So there! And I don't even care if my AW post gets turned into a GIF party. I deserve a GIF party for having to wait until March 10th. :-)

I'm going to try really hard to not let LO get so attached to any one thing. It seems like a tantrum waiting to happen.

  • Also...found out I have an anterior placenta and I'm so annoyed that in addition to my late a/s, now I'm going to have to wait...indefinitely? ...to feel anything. ::pouting again::

It really is. My DS was attached to his pacifier until he was two. Not only was it bad for his teeth but, he took it everywhere and I just knew it was germy. I took it away one day and he lost his mind. It took a while for him to end the attachment but I'll never forget how long my baby stood over the trash can looking at his "paci" that had to go bye bye. It was depressing. For both of us.

  • So, I have a student who's been interning for me since September. She's a great kid and we have a good business relationship as I like to have with all my employees. The other day, I was in a bit of a slump because it was just a hectic day. At the end of the day, she and another employee of mine were helping me close up. The intern then very politely asked if I was ok because she noticed I had a hard day. Keep in mind, it was the end of the day and everyone else had gone. So, I thought it very sweet of her to ask and she also just happens to be a very caring person. However, today, apparently the other employee approached her at some point and told her it was disrespectful to ask me or any supervisor that kind of question. I found out because she came and apologized to me for saying it.

I'm a little insulted that my employee thinks I would feel disrespected by that. I could understand if she asked in the middle of a meeting with a client or some other important time but, it was the end of the day and we were leaving. Maybe I'm wrong but is that a disrespectful thing to say to a supervisor? Especially if there are no problems between you and the supervisor? I don't see that being more than a caring question.

I certainly hope it's not disrespectful. I have never heard of that. Like you mentioned, if she had stood up in the middle of a meeting and called attention to you it would have been one thing.

I ask my supervisor (and she asks me) if everything's ok if something seems off. I would think it would be a sign of someone being observant and caring.

I thought so. I guess I was shocked to know that that might be a thing elsewhere :/ hm.

I don't see why that's inappropriate or disrespectful at all. It sounds like your intern is a nice person who cares about others. How terrible!

I have not looked on eBay! The company is Melissa and Doug's stuffed toy division that went defunct. It was a careless sweet just because gift from the father of our Godson. He saw it one day and thought Evie had to have it. She fell in love and its her thing!
