We had our lawyer ask the Peruvian authorities for any updated medical files that might be available for J. They said they don't have any but that he could check with the orphanage, in case they had something they haven't forwarded yet.
He did, and received a response from the orphanage along the lines of, "We don't have any medical information beyond what's in his official file, but please send this updated picture and our best to M and the Serious family."
OMG!!!
So the orphanage knows that we want to adopt J!!! And, it seems from something else that was said, that so do the Peruvian authorities!
This means that even tough our paperwork's not yet been submitted, they know that we met him, M knows him, and we are rushing to get our paperwork finished so we can adopt him. Which means that if another family requests to adopt him before we are able to submit our paperwork, they know we are busting everything to get our request in as well. Which means that they might wait to make a determination for a month or two, until we can officially submit our intentions. Which means they'd look at all the families requesting, and make a fair decision as to which family they think is best for him (and if the other family is Peruvian, they will likely get the referral, and we know this, and it probably is in his best interest). But we'd get a fair shake, which is all we want.
OMG!!! YEAY! And, of course they know how great M is doing from our post-placements and the fact that he calls the orphanage on a regular basis to talk with the kids and his caregivers there. And they know we won't sit on our hands about any medical issues J may have; I mean, M had his surgery within a month of being home.
OMG!!! This might actually happen! I'm starting to believe it will. (That's dangerous!)
Oh, and the picture of J? He's still so adorable, it's heartbreaking! He's grown! He's so much taller! Oh my! He's so cute! I can't wait to see him again and throw my arms around him!
Re: Wild Day

I am thrilled for all of you!!! Hopefully this moves quickly and he's home where he belongs SOON!
Oh! And I just found out that my husband's FBI clearance came in today's mail! I guess it really was just a routine check.
