My sister is in town from Texas for my shower and we are going to get pedi's! I haven't been able to reach my toes for sometime so this is sorely needed. I hope the poor girl doesn't run screaming from the salon!
@bluebird2318... DH should learn to build his own machines. DH has been building his for years, he gets all the fancy things, customized, and it saves us a TOOONNNNNNN of money. His machine would probably cost about what your husband is paying, but we we're able to build it for around $1500. And he gets the satisfaction of putting it together himself! DH just built his newest one over christmas, and he is disassembling his old one and selling the picees on ebay to recoop some of the cost! Win-win!!
This, this, this. Blue, I don't know what games you play together, but if you want to get some decent ideas for putting rigs together, visit MMO-Champion. It's mainly a website for World of Warcraft and the like, but about once a month or so they have one of their techy peeps do a list of good stuff for gaming rigs and separate it out by price ("Puppy" and "Dolphin" are the cheaper ones, "Narwhal" and "Unicorn" are the pricier ones, but still way less than $4k).

My furbabies are having a cold war over a blanket. It's been the dog's blanket all her life, but recently the cat started sleeping on it whenever he could. Neither of them is quite willing to evict whichever is in possession of the blanket, so the one who isn't on the blanket just sits nearby and either glares (cat) or sadfaces (dog) the one on the blanket.
Love, love, love you people! I've brought it up to DH once before because I've heard that in the past: you end up paying out the butt for assembly and a name brand (which Alienware is especially terrible about I hear) rather than getting actual value for your money. I wish so badly that I could talk him into it! I know he has some knowledge of assembly because he replaces his own parts on occasion, but the last time I brought it up he said he just prefers the laziness of opening up a box and having it already assembled. Still, I'll check out MMO-Champion and see if I can find a recent list like you're talking about @SoulTermination! Maybe I'll be able to wear him down over time!

I sorta feel bad DH is on a cleaning kick and is running around organizing stuff. I already used up my energy for the day and just want to sit on the couch so I'm just watching him.
Also, he tried to talk me into a Miele vacuum today. Anyone have one?
Uh, I'm watching house hunters and they showed a mom brushing the teeth of what must have been a 4 or 5 year old. They should be doing that on their own at that point, right?? Am I going to have to brush the teeth of my kindergartener?!!?
DD is 4.5 yrs and while she can do it herself from start to finish, I still check to mske sure that her teeth look clean...not a full on mouth inspection but just a look. My kids are obsessed with brushing their teeth so they do a pretty good job. I think most 5 year old should be able to do a decent job by themselves if they are taught and given the chance.

Ok this is my UO.. Two days late. I HATE bare belly maternity pictures. Some people can pull it off but most cannot! A girl that I know got some maternity pictures done and it looks like she is showing off her beer belly. Not cute.
I've only thought about packing mine. I want to get one of those roll out organizers to put all of toiletries in and also use this as an excuse to get a new weekend bag. We travel a lot and I'm always sharing a travel suitcase with DD so I need one.
@pineconey A little late on the congrats but I am SO excited for you and YH about his new job! Fantastic fabulous news
@Stace0616 Same exact boat about baby showers (also live in Twin Cities). Mine was today and my sisters and best friend who were hosting could not make it due to the weather. I had some tears about it yesterday but was able to pull together the food and had about 25 friends brave the icy roads in town to come. It turned better than I had hoped. I hope you had a good time at your shower too. The roads are supposed to remain icy through next week because of the ridiculous cold. Ugh, MN winter can shove it. And Mother Nature too.

Ugh a girl in my Facebook group is talking about using castor oil to self induce before her scheduled induction on Wednesday. Everyone's trying to talk her out of it or advising her to talk to her doctor first if she's so flat out determined and this one mom is like "worked for me! Baby's fine! Go for it girl!" Kills me bc she's like yeah I heard all the bad things that can happen to my baby but I don't feel good so I did it and things happened to be okay for me!
ETA. I feel like there's way too much risk when there are other better proven mhethods. I told her she at least needs to talk to her doc so they know if they need to monitor baby for meconium aspiration but Jeesh....
It's kind of the worst idea ever. When the topic comes up I try not to offer any suggestions, you know, cuz I'm NOT a Dr. I'd only recommend sex because it's safe and the only thing a Dr recommends. That and it'll be a long time before you ever do it again! Might as well.
Congrats @pineconey!! So I had an awesome milkshake last night and really want to get another one tonight... But I already had nachos and pizza... Did I mention I am lactose intolerant??? #worththepain #stinkstankstunk #ihearthashtags

I've had the stomach flu for 5 days... FIVE DAYS. Everything I eat makes me awfully stomach sick, and my belly sounds like a thunderstorm. I've lost 5 lbs in 4 days, and I'm beginning to worry :-< I haven't been at work since Tuesday, and had a workshop today that I had to leave because I got all sweaty and anxious. I know it's gonna make me sick, but I'm eating mango sorbet (?) sherbet (?). Saaaad.

I hope my fatigue isn't this terrible for the remainder of this pregnancy. All I want to do is lie on the couch eating wasabi peas and watching Breaking Bad. In my fantasy world, this would also involve foot rubs.

@bluebird2318 DH says there's a place on reddit that goes into the details of how to on computer building. DH builds his all the time, and the best part about that is he can easily fix the exact part that goes kaput.
@kcp913 I like your line of thought on the ways to cause labor. I may have to take a page from your book!
I got bored today, so I decided I would make burp cloths with cloth diapers. You best believe I will AW the hell out of them when I'm done - I should have four done tomorrow!
I got my dog neutered today. Let's hope this calms him down a little bit! Either way, it needed to be done. We weren't going to breed him anyways. !
I just had my boy neutered a few weeks ago No change still like he ate shroom laced lucky charms everyday
What is back strap
It can take some time for the dog to calm down after neutering. It also depends on the breed/size of the dog/age at time of surgery. My boxer wasn't snipped until just over a year old, and it took a good three months before he really started to mellow out and listen. I have faith that your dog will chill the hell out in good time.

Oh my loving god, speaking of Facebook....this girl I don't even know how I know, has been gushing about her fiancée and how exited she is to marry him-to him. As in her status updates are all, "Baby, you are the crystal blue water in my ocean, I can't wait to spend the rest of my life with you!" Or some shit. Then, "I'm so sick of people always having opinions about my life! I'm cutting everyone off for good if you don't support me! You know who you are! Respond if you support me!" And now today, "The wedding is OFF!!! I will not marry an alcoholic! I'm sorry to those who took time off for the wedding and bought me wedding gifts, I just need to do what's right for me." Who the hell is she?! And yea right, you are so marrying that kid.
thanks for all of the kind words about DH's job! we are so thankful. hoping this means i can actually be done on the 21st of march, giving us 3 weeks of double income.
so- the best part of going to a birthday party is the cake, right? yes. that's the correct answer. well, we went to a monkey themed birthday party for a 1 year old today, and 75% of the food served contained bananas, including the cupcakes.

I need to vent. My H and I bought a recliner yesterday and then I found a better one. So we were supposed to go and return the first one today. He knew I wanted to go and return it but instead he goes and takes a nap. That leaves me at almost 8 months pregnant and 2 kids returning a recliner by myself. I am so pissed off at him right now. Am I being irrational?
Re: Longest Thread EVER! (aka Random Thoughts Thread )
DH invited his entire squad over tonight. I'm less than thrilled, however, he's grilling some back strap so that should be good!

RE: Miele vacuums....I read a Reddit AMA by a vacuum repairman and he recommended Miele above all other brands.
And don't tell me that!! I need him to chill out.
Me too! Hope we got the same Hanes cotton ones
