The only thing I think of when I see a mom with a bikini on is how the hell do they not have stretch marks? My stomach looks like I was mauled by a tiger. I didn't have stretch marks when I was pregnant with my 2 boys but right after delivery they showed up.

This actually makes me really sad. Do you even understand how conceited it makes you sound? Us fat moms don't need your pity by hiding your pretty little body. I'm proud of every extra lump and bump I have yet to get rid of from carrying a baby for 9 months. I don't need you to hide by buying a tankini because you are sooo in shape.

The reason I want to cover up is so if I can help it, moms don't feel that way. My best friend is pregnant and keeps comparing herself to me and the last thing I want is for her to feel bad. We are too hard on ourselves as it is.

You're right. That's super humble. Because my saggy boobs and three times a mommy gut totes is jealous of you in a bikini. Piss right off.

Au contraire. When I see a skinny mom I am even more motivated to lose the last few pounds. Regardless, why would you ever dress to please other people? I do not understand this. You can't help what body type you have, and even if you had to work hard for it, then that's even more reason to be proud of your body (not to mention we should all be proud of our bodies for the miracle of life that they created). Some women are just thinner by nature. Besides, you're not going to look less skinny in a tankini vs a bikini. Might as well stay in your house all summer. :P

@nykkolaughs I know where you are coming from. I've been the recipient of many looks and comments. People try to be nice about it, but you know that your presence makes them feel bad about themselves. I guess no one here feels that way around skinny moms, and more power to you, but I know there are women who do.

@34blondie A couple of times my mom has make a comment about someone gaining a lot of weight (to me, not to the person) and she will follow up with "I hope everything is ok with her health, I wonder if she is on steroids".

My confession - I think since LO is napping decent and consistently being a SAHM of ONE is easier (for ME) than working. (I definitely thought the reverse for the first few months!)

I'm still on Mat leave here in Canada and that could change once I actually start working but right now I am dreading getting everything done when I go back!!

I have a bikini and tankini. I am a small framed lady with insane metabolism. Do I flaunt my body in a bikini to make other people feel bad about themselves? No. So why would I feel guilty wearing the type of suit that flatters my body type because someone else MIGHT feel bad about themselves? That's nuts.

I understand there are women who have had weight challenges, or do have them now. I have had trouble with my stepfather's perception of my weight and others assuming I have an eating disorder. I will not let that effect MY body image. Even moreso now that I have a daughter, I want her to be and FEEL healthy. If that means neither of us are toothpick Barbie women, but have some of our heritage based curves, we will OWN IT.

And it's super conceited to have admitted that you are so thin you won't flaunt it. Own your body, and be happy with it. Don't back-handed weight /shape shame other people with YOUR perceptions of them.

Yes I am sooo lazy during his morning nap I read, have a coffee, workout, shower, feel guilty. Then usually during his second nap I do dishes, prep dinner, vacuum/clean. After I have lunch while bumping. I do feel guilty because I let DH think it is a bit harder than it is.

I just can't get it up for people who are upset that they are skinny. Those people making snarky comments to you are just jealous. Enjoy being thin... the other side of the spectrum is awful. Trust me. I've been on both sides. I'd take thin over fat any day of the year.

But, the difference is... you aren't wearing a bikini because people are idiots. I was that small BECAUSE of the way I ate and because I busted my ass. I totally get what you're saying and people are stupid. But, she was saying she didn't want to wear one not because she didn't feel like listening to comments made to her.. but because she didn't want anyone else to feel badly about themselves. It sounds conceited.

BTW when I lost all the weight after DS1 I definitely wore a bikini to the beach. I worked damn hard and had a c-section and wasn't going to hide for anyone. That being said if anyone complimented me or said something I made sure to say, "It wasn't easy!" so people knew I wasn't one of you freak "good metabolism" people

I'm not naturally thin by a long shot but I can get athletic looking if I try really hard!

Also now when I see moms with itty bitty babies I frequently compliment them on looking great before I even say anything about their cute babies. I've been there and it's nice to try and remember what that feels like for people to say you're doing well post baby no matter what your shape. It meant so much to me when a fellow mom would say something about looking good so I always try and pay that forward.

Since becoming a mother I've finally accepted my body. I don't give a flying fluck how skinny other moms are. I've spent most of my life worry about comparing myself to other girls/women and all it got me was bulimia, a ruined metabolism, and an even worse complex. Trust me most other moms don't give a shit what you look like either. Too busy with other things.

if we are still going on about weight..... I secretly enjoy when I get on the treadmill next to someone that is super tiny and they are walking. Then I bust out running 6 miles at 6.5 mph and my ego grows just a little more.
