The kitten is more interested in the large box the baby tub came in. DH is crushed. I told him it's probably something he should get used to. Kids like the box the stuff came in more than the actual stuff.
@BIRL I feel for ya. We just got a new (to us) car a few weeks ago. Shopping is no fun at all, it took us over a month because i have to shop around so much to make sure I'm getting a good deal. I really hate dealing with car salesmen and all of that, they will tell you what you want to hear and there is something so awkwardly fake about it! The good thing is that when you find something that works, everything happens really fast. I hope you find something you like!
So on FB one of my friends that I've seen once during my pregnancy, and maybe see her once a year, got all butthurt because I didn't invite her to my baby shower. My DH said that I should delete her now. I'm so over it.
I am not even going to post about my baby shower on FB because I know someone will get all butthurt about it. I have ex-coworkers who I haven't worked with in years and never talk to other than on fb that I know have already mentioned to other ex-coworkers that they weren't invited. I am preemptively over it.
@vinny424 We hit some financial snags and its making it extremely hard for us to get a vehicle that we need....its just very discouraging. We've had to rebudget our entire year today. I'm trying to keep a positive outlook but it's getting harder.

DS1 slept for 16 hours last night before I decided to wake him. 101 fever so we pretty much just snuggled and watched cartoons all day (when he wasn't sleeping). Not the birthday I had in mind, but I certainly can't complain. I'm really cherishing our snuggle time before DS2 arrives.
So yesterday was my birthday and it was a huge let down . Me and both of my girls are really sick. I spent the night at the urgent care with my oldest. We can never go out on my birthday because of crowds and waiting lists. My husband tried so hard to make it as nice as possible though. He even made me a sugar free birthday cake with sugar free frosting. It was pretty good for being sugar free. I love that man beyond words. I also received my notice on my birthday that they have scheduled my c-section. I cannot go past 39 weeks. I am praying so hard that I go into labour on my own so I can at least attempt a VBAC. So many emotions.
Anyone hear about ricki lake doing another documentary? This time about birth control.
Yea. I can't get behind to premise. About how birth control is bad for women because it keeps "the man" in control. At least that's what I gathered from the article I read.
@Thomas930 Edit because I posted before I read. Thomas I'm so sorry! Money stuff with a baby on the way is definitely more stressful than when you don't have a 9 month timeline. There's so many daunting decisions to make! And now I feel like a jerk complains about buying a car today. I'm really sorry.

We have opposite experiences @spano41. We make decisions quickly so the shopping goes fast, but the paperwork takes forever. Today the dealer was really backed up, and he even pushed our deal ahead in the finance line, and we were still there five hours. And we test drove another car before that, so total time was 8 hours. Miserable! But I got a car I love at an awesome deal, which is awesome because I really wasn't looking forward to trading in my sporty two-door for a mom car.

Haha, well quick is relative i guess, when you've been shopping for a month a few hours seems pretty fast. Glad you found something you like!
I'm pretty sure this heartburn is burning holes in my esophagus... Really regretting not picking tums up at the store! Anyone know of a home remedy i might have around the house?
@spano41 I've seen a few people say that dissolving baking soda in water and drinking it helps the heartburn. I think it's something like a teaspoon in 8oz of water? I've never tried it, but I know if I didn't have Tums I'd be game for anything with my heartburn!

Yup, baking soda and water. I don't know the exact amount either though!
No worries @biggerinreallife we all have our own complaints and worries and the time line of expecting a baby just adds more car buying in general is stressful in lots of ways.

Things that DH does that drive me fucking bat shit crazy:
opens my favorite bottle of wine with dinner and I can't have any (the smell of it makes me sick now, believe me I've tried to enjoy a glass).
Falls asleep as soon as his head hits the pillow. Complains that I'm tossing and turning and keeping him awake (really fuck face, want to feel the ninja kicking my bladder and the head that's breaking my ribs at the same time)
Gets annoyed with my snoogle because "I have no room to get comfortable.
Finally, sleeps in 3 hours past when I stumble out of bed because "I didn't sleep well, I'm so tired" FUCK YOU DH I've had a total of 3 hours of uninterupted sleep... I hate you right now. I hope a cat farts in your face. X(
Anyone have some advice on how to get two high energy dogs to be able to be in the same room without constantly playing/wrestling?
My mom will be staying with us for about 2 1/2 weeks after Logan is born and her dog will be coming for at least half that time. Our dogs get along great, so great that they will not let up with playing...they could pretty much go on forever. I would love to not have to keep them separated so that my dog can get used to having the new baby in the house and our new routine right away.

@thomas930: do they like bones or peanut butter trick toys? The only way I can get my dog to settle when other dogs visit is give him a bone, then he could care less if anything else is going on. Just have to make sure they aren't overly protective of it. Other than that, my dogs always just play until exhaustion, then play some more. It takes days for them to get over new playmates
Why do my boobs look so good? Then I peed on a stick...
Two things: 1. I had a sip of my sister's beer last night, my first taste of beer (or any booze) in nearly eight months. It was the most crisp, refreshing thing ever and had to be pried out of my hand. 2. We were out for dinner for her birthday (she and my mom are visiting me for my shower this weekend and it happens to be her b-day as well) and I suggested we go to a fancy French cake place for dessert afterward. Initially they were excited, but then jet lag set in and they wanted to go back to their hotel. The cake place was too far out of the way for me to bother going alone, so I made do with a slab of emergency Safeway cake I had at home. But I am going to the fancy cake place soon, damnit!
Both are crate trained and we usually separate them whenever we go to each other's houses....so we have no problems with doing that but I would love to be able to just stop that at some point. She really doesn't have the option to leave her's home because she doesn't have anyone to watch him and she is coming take care of my older kids while I'm at the hospital.
Unfortunately our back yard is not suitable for the dogs to go play and there isn't a dog park or I would definitely do something like that.
We just might have to keep them separated and work on my dogs transition after they leave or alternate each in the main part of the house.
ETA:
@sking72 they would get protective over treats like that. Thank you for the suggestions
I really wish they could exhust themselves. They are both young and have endless energy to keep going. It's been a year with them knowing each other and seeing each other every few months and when they get back together its like party time.

Hello, beautiful ladies! I apologize for being MIA this week. We are in FL visiting family and we had our baby shower yesterday. It was a really great turn out and my hostesses loved the spa gift set I made them. We also revealed the baby's name, which everyone loved. We got the cutest monogrammed burp cloths too! Overall, it was a good day.
@Mamamonzo I'm with you on the Snoogle thing! DH gets frustrated with mine, but I already make exceptions to my sleeping habits for him on a nightly basis (he likes to sleep with the TV on and a fan blowing, neither of which I would do if I slept alone). Carrying an extra 20 pounds around everywhere is hell on my back, so unless he wants to give me a back rub every night he's gonna be dealing with the Snoogle!
