  • We finally bought this LO a car seat. Shit just got real!!!
  • I just woke up choking on acid reflux!!! Sooooo hot I know!!!! Immediately chewed tums while still choking, and drank water in an effort to get rid of the taste. Then I Inhaled a pack of fruit snacks...no luck. Drank more water, tried to suck a cough drop cuz that's this closest thing since I obviously had to pee immediately, bad idea!!! The cough drop mixed with the fruit snacks blahhhhhhhh and then I gave in and went to the kitchen to find some life savers from Xmas and chewed them!!! Still not 100% but doing a little better!!!! ;( Also now wide awake!!!
I go after plain bread when it's that bad. It helps it doesn't always completely clear it but it's better.

@FarmBoysWife don't forget to let us know when the hooves have crowned!

I got the run down of the state of my cervix today. The Dr said that there is no way I'm going 40 weeks, and to expect a baby within 1-2 weeks. Here goes nothing! Also, it sucks having to collect every single drop of pee for this test. I had to rush my shower because I ended up having to pee in the middle of it. And all I want is yellow cake with chocolate frosting. Why don't bakeries make cupcakes like that?

  • It's 3:45am here, and I just did the laundry, and ate and apple and some tuna. Still starving, and feeling like now is probably as good a time to do more organizing in the nursery. Also, I might make some eggs.

  • I have only recently discovered that whenever I go to the grocery store this late in pregnancy, it does NOT matter how few things I think I am getting, I NEED to take a cart instead of a basket. Those "one or two things" quickly turn into a bag of grapefruit, + milk, + heavy laundry deterent, etc... (not the wisest thing for an almost-9-month pregnant lady to be carrying around!) After a couple miserable shopping trips, I wish I had figured this out earlier!

And @bandteacher... I cannot stop laughing at those gifs! I think you made my day. (Especially the car with 10 feet of snow on it...)

  • Happy Valentine's Day, M '14 ladies!

This is my second ever V-day with MH, and I'm sick. I caught it from him; therefore, when he asked me what I wanted today that was "special", I told him I wanted all the things I've been craving for the last week and haven't gotten: a Cherry Dilly Bar, a Taco Bell freeze with all the flavors in it like sand art, a slice of Casey's sausage pizza (that I will probably take an hour or more to eat because my throat hurts too much to swallow peanut butter) and a cup of crushed ice. I will probably add some of that peppered Tazo tea someone mentioned to me yesterday...

I think he thought I was going to say things like chocolate, flowers, and a steak dinner. No. Not only am I carrying your baby, but you gave me the first cold/flu I've had to deal with this year because I've been super careful about not being around sick people because of the baby. You are going to get me the things that are going to make me feel better, not chocolate and dead plants. Until tomorrow, when all the valentine's chocolate goes on sale. Then you're buying a fuckload of it. Because I love you. <3

  • OH and on another note... someone talk me into cloth diapering... I go back and forth every week.  Here's a sad confession...

really the main reason I want to do it is because I've heard how it prevent blow outs .. but the main reason I don't want to is because they take up so much space in a diaper bag ...

    lol

I understand those are pathetic reasons.

All the other reasons kind of even out... I don't care about the costs, the cleanup with disposables seems easier but I'm sure I'll get into a routine, I honestly don't care about the impact on the environment (eh, at least i'm honest), and really I don't even care about the cuteness lol...

Just do it!! They really don't take up that much room in the diaper bag and they really do a great job on blowouts. Other than a few extra loads of laundry I can't imagine clean up being easier with disposables at least for the first 4-6 months until you start solids. Just toss it all in the wash and you're done!

  • My almost 2.5 year old just brought the Doppler to me and said he wanted to hear the baby! We found his heartbeat and DS told him hi and that he loved him and then when I said we were all done we needed to let him sleep he asked me to bring the baby home! I just pray he's this nice once we do bring the baby home!

I just scored a sweet bargain at Babies R Us!  I've been wanting the Britax B-Agile stroller and we didn't get it at our shower (we figured, it's pricey) so I've been deciding when to buy it....

Just realized that Babies R Us is doing a trade in promotion... a friend of mine kindly gave me her expired car seat for a trade in.

    SO! I got the stroller ($209.99) - amazon price match ($35 off) - 25% coupon ($43.50 off) = $131!!  Score!

If I can hunt down another friend with someone that I can trade in I'll be able to buy the extra car seat base ... I love bargains
  • Who are our vets? We have an issue with kitty constipation. It's only one cat, so we don't think it's environmental but it's been 24 hours and he spends 45 min in the box trying to go.
I'm not a vet but I've had a lot of experience with kitty constipation. We added the pureed pumpkin that @kirotea mentioned to his dry food.  We also got a cat water fountain to help with dehydration- sometimes cats will drink more from running water sources.  This all helped in the long term but he was old and it got really bad and had to go to the vet and get an enema. If your cat is straining a lot and seems to be in pain, I would bring him to the vet.  He was also put on medication (lactulose) daily to help.

Ugh. I made this mistake the other day, and I was lugging a basket that was too heavy.  And then DH called.  I learned my lesson.

Like PP have said, running water sources will encourage kitty to drink more. (Something in his brain's wiring makes them enjoy it better.) When my furbaby had issues, I gave him a little tuna that was packaged in olive oil a couple times like it was a treat, but it definitely helped get things moving. He was back to his old self in a couple of days. It definitely helps that he can't resist human food, and was more than willing to chow down. I would call a professional vet though, and ask before doing anything. These were my Dr. Google remedies a couple of years ago.

  • I wish I was contracting as regularly as I've been pooping today. I'm at the point were I'm running to the bathroom to go and nothing is happening. Maybe the full moon will bring me my baby.

I have a little foot trying to come out the side of my stomach a la Alien style. Pretty sure I'm bruised on the inside right there.

The bottom of my ribcage legitimately feels like someone is holding a candle to it all the time now. On top of lung kicks and bladder punches, I'm having the time of my life. How about you? :)

  • @FarmBoysWife I'd do the same if I didn't have older kids. I'm sure they would be complaining.

My ribs feel about the same

  • All this full moon has done is made my child act like she's on something. She hasn't moved this much the whole pregnancy.
Like @kirotea said my stomach is internally bruised. Luckily she's dropped otherwise my ribs would be out of commission.

  • My legs have been super restless the past few days. I'm worried my iron is low, and I'm worried about anemia. When they drew my blood like 2 months ago it was on the low end of normal, so they didn't prescribe me supplements or anything. I don't know what to do except talk to my Dr about it on Tuesday.

  • This morning I commented to DH that I had the "morning lightning crotch " to which he responded to by making lightening crash sounds effects a la episode of thundercats where they crash on the earth. So that was kind of amazing:)
  • DH and I fished poop out of the bathtub together last night…so romantic!  Potty training is glamourous!

  • @somerisles can you stack coupons with the 25% trade in discount as well? I have a $5.00 off and a 20%off buy buy baby one.

Hmmm I dunno! Worth a shot though

Anyone else as seriously annoyed as I am with the stupid Subway-Fritos commercial? It's not a catchy tune! Stop airing it every commercial break!

Yes! And the sandwich doesn't even look that good!

Anything having to do with Fritos is not good.  Gross.
  • @FBW i'm sorry you've had a rough morning. I hope he apologizes at least!

On another note- why on this fun bump day does my nesting decide to kick into full force? Ughh

  • Ever since that question was asked about boobs shrinking in late pregnancy, I've been wondering if mine have... I think they might have! :-( Don't hate me - I WISH I had remotely nice sized ladies!

Mine complained when I woke him up last night (accidentally) because I couldn't get comfortable. Why are they getting more insensitive here at the end?
Its like they are tired of being pregnant. Because they have gone through so much.
