Boob question

So I'm about 37.5 weeks now and due March 1. Although it looks like I'm most likely getting induced on Feb. 24 because of GD. But that's a whole different story. Anyway...I've been taking pictures of myself every couple weeks to keep track of my growing bump. And I've noticed that my boobs haven't really grown! They look almost the same size as pre-pregnancy! Is this normal? Should I be worried? I just kinda figured my boobs would be huge by now. Anyone else have this happen to them or have any thoughts to share?? I guess I'm just mostly worried about being able to breastfeed. I don't want this to effect my supply.

I should also mention that my belly has grown normally; I've gained about 20 lbs so far.

  • And you're obviously bored. Thanks for the helpful commentary.
    Your boobs are obviously broken.

  • Everyone, and even every pregnancy is different. Mine have grown more this time than the first time, but neither time have they grown enough to warrant a new bra. I had no trouble nursing my first.

No, you shouldn't be worried. It won't change anything anyway.

  • I'm bored, I'll answer. I've grown a little, but mostly just because my ribcage has expanded. Everyone expands in different places, plus everything I've ever read said that it doesn't matter what size your boobs are for breastfeeding. Boob size is not the determiner on if you'll be able to breastfeed.

And you obviously don't know how to type "does breast size affect milk production" in Google.

By the way, the answer is no. You're welcome.
Pretty sure any question EVER asked on this website has been addressed on multiple websites and can be Googled over and over again. Go troll on someone else's post if you wanna be a twat.

  • My boobs definitely don't get huge in pregnancy...sadly. I would like to experience huge breasts just once. They definitely feel heavier and fuller (and I think look a little nicer), but I haven't changed bra sizes this time around or anything.  The only time I noticed a significant increase in breast size was when my milk came in with DS...they settled back down pretty quickly though.  It just depends on your body. I wouldn't worry about not being able to BF at this point.

    LOL...same here!

  • I wish, I can't fit in any of my pre-pregnancy bras, ugh I miss them! But that said I've seen the most increase in band size because of my rib cage expanding. The ladies haven't grown too much bigger than pre-pregnancy, but they feel heavier.

Seems like this is a weight post hiding within a boob post.

But where would it hide? She said her boobs haven't grown.

  • But to answer your question, the girls went up 2 sizes in the first tri, and have stayed the same ever since. I'm waiting do my sweet just got a boob job milk jugs to come in.

Hi, welcome to march14. To answer your question boobs size does not matter in milk production. Also, the word is "affect" not "effect"

    you are welcome.
I still cannot get it right

While we're correcting each other, you forgot to capitalize the "Y" in you. And you forgot to put a period after the word "effect."

    You also are welcome.

The lack of period and capitalizing a letter does not change the meaning of the sentence, yours does.
You clearly understood the meaning, since you answered the question. As did everyone else.

You needed a picture to tell? Do you wear a bra? Have you grown out of your bra? Breast size has nothing to do with breast feeding. Change in breast size has nothing to do with breast feeding.
Well it was the pictures that made me REALLY notice. I've bought a couple of larger bras, mostly because my ribs not the cups. But I do still fit into most of my pre-pregnancy bras.

  • I'll play nice and answer.  I think I've been snarky lately so I'm going to try to make my karma right.

Whether or not your boobs are growing, you're bobbies are working hard getting ready for baby.  Size doesn't affect milk production.  You could be a AA cup and still provide enough for your baby.  I wouldn't worry about it.

Thanks for playing nice :) Seems a lot of us are feeling snarky lately, myself included. But I was asking because I was genuinely curious.

    I really have been feeling snarky lately!  I'm so damn uncomfortable and everything irritates me.  And I have no filter anymore.   8-}

    I'll play.

My boobs have grown two cup sizes (one in the first tri, and another in the second tri), and my milk started coming in around 20-ish weeks. That being said, one of my girlfriends has tiny boobs and hers barely grew. She gave birth in December at 37 weeks, and up to that point, her milk hadn't come in. But although she had an epi, c-section, and her baby spent some initial time in the NICU, she was able to breastfeed like a champ right from the get-go. So, really, you are normal, and you will likely be able to BF just fine.

Because comparing boob sizes while pregnant is as useless as comparing how much weight has been gained/lost.
I have no shame in saying that I just watched your horny boo boo gif for about 5 minutes straight. That said, my post was a failed and miserable attempt at me trying to make a joke about how OP is complaining about her small boobies. It was supposed to be like "But where is there room for a weight post to hide, if her boobs haven't grown big enough for it to hide in?". I lose.

  • @rockopera Everything you said, plus the fact that I have no idea who she is and it took me like, 1 minute to Google her question. (Even though I already knew the answer from googling it myself many moons ago.) I'll take this question seriously when I see her participating in threads and offering support to other people.
Gotcha. Guess we have to be best cyber friends for you to take me seriously. I have posted numerous times in this board and others, and I don't require your validation in order to ask a simple question.

And since you "googled it many moons ago," it must have been a concern of yours at some point or at least you were curious. So don't judge me for having the same concern.

    P.S. Blow me.

  • Awwwwww, I LOVE how some of you feel the need to acknowledge me wherever I post, it really does make me feel all warm and fuzzy inside :D

On another note, people shouldn't NEED to be your best friend to ask a question, would you spend 8 months kissing strangers arses before you asked them the time?

Maybe it's time people really did grow up and realise "The Bump" and the rest of the world does NOT revolve around them!

@Jasi, don't worry too much about the bitchiness on here, it's generally just the same few over and over who like to stick together and cause drama where there was none before (yet accuse YOU of doing it instead). There ARE still some decent people lurking on here too :D

  • Argh!! I have to ask. Do people not read anymore?! There weren't many pregnancy books that I read cover to cover but OF COURSE I had and used them as reference material when questions like this came up. Who knows better than a bunch of internet strangers what's normal and what's not? Doctors. Midwives. Books into which decades of scientific research have gone. GRUMP GRUMP GRUMP.

    Haha... Thanks :)

And I'm not worried; the bitchiness doesn't phase me at all. At least it provides some entertainment for me while I neglect the pile of work on my desk!
