@mandy2696, we tried turning the chair and the dresser inward as you suggested and you're right....it looks way better! Will post pictures once I've done some decorating and painted the birds in the mural. Thanks for the tip!
We're waiting on the crib to arrive but I've bought a few things here and there and made some things to hang on the wall. Theme is Florida-y: alligators, turtles in Navy & green.
Our kids will share a room so we're working on combining versus doing a whole nursery from scratch. DD's current room is mostly purples and greys though it's certainly not a theme and we have mostly white furniture - the two cribs, dresser, and glider. This is my inspiration and I hope to start some rearranging and shopping this weekend!
We just found out that we will be having a nursery! We were planning on a one bedroom with a huge living space but it's being revamped to include a small nursery. I've not thought about themes yet and you all are such great inspiration.
We finished the painting and hung the curtains. The picture of the curtains doesn't look that great because it was dark. This is the fabric that I am using for her bedding. My mom is making it for me. It's going to be paired with a solid gray fabric and a print that is pink with a small pattern on it
@wareagle1220 We tried about 6 different grays before finding one that didn't look blue or purple. We ended up with Valspar wet cement. Doesn't sound pretty but it is all gray with no blue undertones. It's a little dark but not too dark

Thanks! I think I'm going to pick up some samples and just put them in the wall in there and choose one after a few days. Otherwise, there's too much room for error depending on lighting.
@Rachel5130 Etsy!! That one was from this seller:
https://www.etsy.com/shop/mwithm?ref=l2-shopheader-name but that particular style appears to be no longer in production. I'm thinking of messaging them to see if they'll do it as a special request, because I like that font much better than the ones that are currently offered.
ETA: What's your nursery theme? I looked through this thread but didn't see another post from you.
@emak88 how did you do the stripes? Did they bleed at all? I really want to do stripes on the top of our wall, but husband thinks it would be too hard and wants to make sure there would be no paint bleeding.
Just finished painting our nursery yesterday!! Now... I can't wait till our white crib and changing table arrives!! Love these kind of posts! good job guys! Keep it up!!

Cute nursery!
The best way to not get bleed lines is paint one color, dry, tape, paint a light coat of 1st color on the edge of tape, dry, then do your second color. Let mostly dry before you remove tape. This method always gives me clean lines
@dmizak The stripes took lots and lots of tape. We used frog tape (which is green). It works better than the blue tape at at keeping the lines clean. As long as you press the tape down really well it shouldn't bleed. If any paint does bleed it shouldn't be noticeable unless you know where to look. We did the widest stripe first(gray), then the pink and retaped to do the white stripe. You have to make sure you measure and mark where you want the top and bottom of the stripe to be so that you tape a straight line.
All those post are making me think of what I want to do but until I found out I only have ideas and right know I was thinking if it's a boy doing a sports room and I should add that my husband loves the idea or a construction room. For a girl I was thinking of doing some kind of flower or animal room. Nothing has been done yet because it's still a toy room lol.
DH and DS1 emptied the "junk" room to make way to paint to move DS1 in. Woo hoo! Then onto moving DS2. And then we can work on LO room when DS2 is out of it. Small steps but were moving in the right direction!
I'm so jealous of everyone's space! This is literally all I have to work with. Thankfully it is the exact fit for a crib. And whatever I can possibly shove/ hide underneath of it.
I love hearing everyone's plans and colors! We don't find out until Thursday what our bean is but the nursery is going to have a scheme of navy, orange, white, and gray. The trim is white and nursery furniture is going to be white. My son and I have a thing with the "Guess how much I love you" book so an accent wall will have wall tree decals and we are having sillouttes made of the rabbits from the book. The orange kinda ties in the carrots and I'm going with the nighttime palette of the book so that ties in the navy. If it's a girl we are going to glitz it up with a pretty mirror and girly frames.
I'm so jealous!! i have the hardwood installers coming tomorrow for the measurements... i cant wait until the carpet is gone so we can actually start the nursery!
Question for you ladies, since you are all so adorably creative and my creativity seems to have been sucked out of me with this pregnancy...
I have an old desk that I am planning to paint and use as a changing table/dresser for the baby's room. My question is regarding what to do with the chair hole. I was thinking of maybe using it to store some baskets, but I think it will look like I just stuck some baskets in the chair part of a desk... I also thought about maybe adding a curtain, but worry that might look a little silly as well. Any ideas??

In my opinion, the curtain might look somewhat tacky. I don't mind the idea of baskets if they fit properly. Would you be able to find a hamper for dirty clothes that would be a good size to fit there?

I'd say find a nice hamper for clothes and put that under there. Or, since you're doubling as a changing table, have a hamper and trash side by side under there (if you can get 2 that fit). Just make them decorative looking.
Or... get some wood and add in a couple shelves and then use it as storage -- baskets, or whatever. Or if you're feeling very crafty add a door over the shelves or something along those lines.
I agree with @laureljoy91 that a curtain might look tacky.
My nursery has officially been framed out and studs are in place. This building a new room 2 hours from my current location thing is more stress filled than I thought. I just want to get things done!
Can I ask you ladies for some input? Said nursery will not have windows (The horror!) but will be kind of spacious. I know bold colors are out but should I just go with a cream type wall color instead of something like pale green/gray/whatever?
We are going with an 'outer space/solar system' theme with touches of Star Wars. Still have a long way to go. Made the storm trooper lamp, painted the chalkboard wall (and artist friend is coming over next month to draw an amazing mural above the changing table and we are hoping all our friends and family who come to visit will write our DS a message on the wall. Still need to set up the crib, make r2d2 hamper and fix the curtains then fine tune, edit and stage it. So exciting!!!

Eta: painted it to match a color in the crib bedding and updated the hardware. I added crystal knobs to dress it up a bit.
