I am actually adding paint swatches to the walls this week and we are getting new carpeting installed next month. We are doing a very soft chocolate brown on the walls and a toast/tan colored carpet. We already have our crib and changing table and they are espresso. I'll also be buying an espresso glider with soft cream colored fabric. Once we find out the sex at the end of Feb, we'll start decorating!
DH made me a jellyfish lamp for Christmas with a light bulb that changes colors (he didn't make the one pictured below but it is similar). It isn't very bright so I thought it'd be a cute night light in the nursery. Using the lamp as inspiration, I thought we could do an "under the sea" themed nursery.
I still need to buy furniture and a rug and then I will make curtains and probably sheets, etc... I still have a ton of planning to do but DH doesn't even want to start buying stuff until April or May! That's not going to happen! :P I just need to motivate him to move his stuff out of the room....
Wow! You guys make me feel so behind! All yalls nurseries are so beautiful. I haven't done anything besides pick a color theme. Hot pink and aqua with white accents.
We've still got stuff to clear out in the baby room, which used to be an office, but we've made progress. We aren't painting the walls, which are currently a tan color (same as most of the house), so we'll be using color with decorations only.
We plan to get a white crib, glider and bookshelf and we'll be painting an existing dresser the aqua color to coordinate with the sheets. We find out the sex next week, but since we plan to have one more after this and re-use the nursery, we're going gender neutral-ish. (it's still more boy colored, but if it's a girl, I might add in some girly accents)
Working on cleaning out my office today to make the transition to nursery. Have a white crib but no other ideas of yet. Thinking more neutral colors since my daughters nursery was all pink. Love all the pictures!!
We haven't started yet because we have to move DS1 to guest room downstairs, DS2 to DS1 room and then can do LO room. Here a couple Picts of my inspiration and one of the dresser I refinished that will be LO with changing pad on top. Yes I am using the dresser for the time being
These are all really cute! I had a ton of girl nurseries ideas from Pinterest, but we found out yesterday that a little boy is on the way! I'm not sure what I want to do...I definitely want dark furniture. I found an adorable lamb bedding set at PB kids, but it's so darn expensive. I might go really boyish and paint the walls navy. We will see! I'm hoping to clean the closet that's full of all of my college books and paper this month, then get started decorating in February!
For those of you who are feeling behind in your nursery decorating, I present to you, my baby's nursery!
We're still renovating...
This is actually our bedroom, but the whole space under the far slope and along the peaked wall will be the baby zone. We've got an antique dresser to use as a changing table, which I'm probably going to paint or refinish in some way. I want to do something really fun with the wall and slope that will be above the baby's crib, but I'm at a loss at this point.
You have all got me thinking about how exactly I want to make some of this space baby space! I can't wait to see your nurseries all go from inspiration to reality!
DD1: June 2014 - VBM4lyfe DD2: October 2016 DC3: coming May 2019
We haven't purchased it yet, but we will be getting this crib, chair and dresser from Rooms to Go in white. They sell it as a package with a changing pad for $979.99 -- not bad! I also purchased a canvas painting from Marshalls that says "You Are My Sunshine" on it and a cute grey & yellow blanket from Nordstrom Rack. I like to pick up random decor -- not all matchy matchy, but within the same theme/color.
I LOVE this nursery!!! Also..I really want that stuffed kangaroo...

That peak is so fun. I'm picturing fabric draped from the ceiling...
@kinipela7, we are doing very similar colors as you are and will have light gray walls. We already have the cans of paint but have not painted anything yet.
Once I get home and can take some pictures of all the stuff I have for the room, I will put it up on here.
We are doing grey walls, white crib, DH just refinished this awesome old dresser in navy blue and now that we are team pink, hot pink accents... Our patterns will include polka dots and chevron... This is a picture of the crib quilt my coworker made me! It's awesome!
We will find out if its a boy or girl on Feb 3, so I'm not starting any projects until then. We will be buying a home and moving sometime before or after baby arrives. My plan is to DIY some decor projects and purchase items for the nursery now, so it is ready to "assemble" as soon as we move.
I plan to redecorate and rearrange our bedroom since that is where baby will be and I never actually decorated it since I just finished my masters degree in December. I'll probably work on that in a few weeks.

Baby boy's bedroom will replace out current guest room, so there is 100% nothing done yet. Eventually, we'll move that stuff down to the basement (and hopefully find the money to finish it, so FIL has somewhere to sleep when he visits!), and then we have to transition our daughter to a "big girl bed" because she still sleeps in the crib.
The room is grey right now, which would be fine, except I feel like it's too dark. I don't know what color we'll paint. I haven't even started to look for inspiration. The crib is white and the glider is white with green cushions.
DH won't let me do anything until he gets home but I have been buying stuff. We are doing grey pink and chevron. I have a grey and white chevron rug on the way, we are going to do grey walls, pink curtains and sheets and these decorations.
We're waiting until after our a/s on the 21st to start doing the nursery. However, I did at least clear the room out. I've attached a few pics of what I like right now. I am for sure getting the white crib no matter boy or girl. If it's a girl then I want the Owl set with room colors. If it's a boy I have a couple options to decide between. Choices, choices.
@otter1103 we bought an unfinished dresser and matched the green to the fabric we used for curtains. We stained the top and knobs to match the espresso on the feet of the crib. @kinipela7 we used a light/medium gray from Lowes. We had painted it months prior to learning we were pregnant and we were using it as an office. I will look tomorrow to see if I have any left in the basement so I can tell you the color.
Ahhh I can't wait to get started! My husband is designing and building our crib and dresser. Our office is so full of junk I can't even envision anything! Boo
Well, we started but my husbands job requires him to travel frequently, so we painted! Haha
We also ordered everything, it's just waiting on him to move an old dresser out, and build all of the new stuff. And than it's just decorating from there
The purple walls are actually more of a lavender. The lighting in my house blows so it's looks like a greyish purple.
I love nursery threads! I'll have to live vicariously through you all this time as we're reusing DD's nursery. Also, we're building a house and right now we're not sure if house or baby will come first; it's going to be close! It's hard for me to decorate when I'm not living in the space.
All of the pictures so far are amazing, ladies! Can't wait to see them progress.
I'm still toying with options, but I want to keep the wall color and pictures that are currently in the room.
My dad is building the cribs for me, and they'll be painted white--this is the picture from the woodworking plans.
My mom offered to sew bedding if I can find fabric and a pattern that I like, which is amazing since I need two of everything! So far I've been playing around with the bedding designer function on babybedding.com and these are my front-runners. I've gotten the wall color as close to what we have as possible--I think it's a pretty good match.
If I go with the second option, I've actually found a glider that I can order with the floral fabric. I'm a little concerned it'll be too matchy-matchy, but it's nice to know there's an option.
The only other furniture I plan on having in the room is a low dresser--my dad will build that as well once the cribs are done. I'm a lucky girl to have such handy parents!
We haven't started yet until we find out baby's sex but this is DDs room. I'm still so proud of it! We did everything ourselves. The "Lucy" letters were even hand painted in Guatemala. It's still one of my favorite rooms of the house.
I found a beautiful piece of furniture today that I'm going to use as a changing table. So whatever we do has to match this. I'm thinking light blue/teal walls with some gray and white chevron print thrown in the bedding and curtains. I'm pretty sure I'm having a boy ( doc pointed out what could be a penis, but he won't confirm yet, says too early), but if it turns out to be a girl I'll throw some pink in too.
Our nursery is finally empty. I just moved stuff out last week. Soon we are going to rip up the carpet and put wood floor Laminant down. My best friend is going to paint it for me:)

@jaybee11 I love the fabric on the second crib! If the glider seems too matchy, maybe you could get the chair in a coordinating solid color and an accent pillow in the pattern?
I love all the pics! Here's what my DDs room looked like (big girl room) just barely finished. And since I can't take an updated photo -because they are sleeping now- here's a sleeping photo of my DS.

That would be awesome - thank you!!
I finally found the time to take some pictures of the fabrics and other things I have for LO's room. I put them into a collage. Here's what each item is:
- Middle picture: Inspiration for the room. It's a hand painted elephant print from our honeymoon in Thailand. It will hang above the crib.
- Upper right: Elephant soft knit fabric that I will make into crib sheets
- Center right: Chevron fabric that will be used for the crib skirt and window valance.
- Bottom right: Curtain fabric
- Bottom left: The start of the rag rug that will go in front of the crib (I have a long way to go...)
- Center left: DH will use this pattern to make a custom dresser/changing table for the room
- Upper left: Example abacus that will go above the changing table. The balls will be in the same colors as the elephant print and the wood will be darker, not white.
- Background color: The wall color (Stonewall Jackson from Dutch Boy)
The crib is a dark cherry/brown color and all the other wood will match.
I just settled on a theme so I haven't started yet but it'll be woodland with this color palette. Boy or girl
I love the woodland trends that are out there now! If I wasn't doing elephants, it would be woodland creatures. Some of the cutest fabrics are woodland creatures, IMO!

Our daughter's room, 2 years ago. I'm very excited to do a gender neutral theme this time around:) I'm thinking a "You are my sunshine" theme.

Yes:) I found cheap frames with different sizes and textures, painted them white and used scrapbook paper.
We also ordered everything, it's just waiting on him to move an old dresser out, and build all of the new stuff. And than it's just decorating from there
