  • Of all days for them NOT to call a snow day, had to be today. The roads are an effing mess. I got stuck trying to get into the school driveway, along with a bunch of other people. I shoveled before I left, and less than an hour later... you can't even tell and my car is buried. Dumb.

I don't feel good at all. My head is pounding because of all the congestion. And Grayson decided today was the day to wake up an hour earlier. How can you be upset with a baby that had a huge smile on his face when he wakes up? But the poor kid still had a nasty cough. I need to find all the cold meds and take a nap with Grayson later today. Laundry will have to wait today :( Oh, and we have a foot of snow outside!

  • What is your little ones room temp set to? I have the upstairs set to 72 at night, but when I come in to get him in the morning when he wakes up his little hands feel cold :( I sleep with covers in 72 and feel like I'm leaving him too cold at night without them. I have him in footed onesies. Thoughts?

We have our house set to 71, but the nursery seems to get colder than the rest of the house. I put her in a warm footed sleeper and then a halo sleep sack and keep a space heater turned on low in her room. Otherwise I wake up and her hands/ears are icy. I have a space heater that shuts off when the room gets to a set temp.

We have the therm set to 70 but we also have a space heater in her room set to 80 (plus a warm mist humidifier) because DH insists she sleeps better when it's warmer in her room. I think it's too hot (feels like the Caribbean) but I don't see what harm it can do so I don't argue.

I second the space heater that shuts off. Grayson's room is in the basement with ours and it gets cold so we got a space heater and keep it at 75. It's kicks on and off when needed to maintain the 75 in there. When it's not as cold as it has been we keep it at 70.

  • We all have colds, my head is killing me, I got my hair highlighted by a diff colorist yesterday bc my guy is on vaca and I don't like it, a week later and that bitch AF is overstaying her effing welcome, and today DH and I have an appt with a marriage counselor bc things have gradually gone to shit. It's a multi layer and very complex situation and I just hope we can make it through. This is not our first rodeo with counseling and we do well for a while then back to crap. This time its some of the same things as well as a very serious "new" problem on DH's side. Not really new but he finally was brave and honest enough to admit that he has a pathological lying problem. Something I've known but has never been admitted. From the beginning of our relationship there have been lies- big, small, and everything in between. He basically has created a false identity in his professional career which explains why he always keeps me so separate from it. Hearing the extreme amount and depth of his lying was so shocking and kind of scary. I don't know where this leaves our relationship as the foundational trust had been broken over the years but I do love him and worry for him as a person. Normally don't share such personal of info but I needed to unload this somewhere.
  • Oh @funkyphoenix, I hope you all can work things out! My SO has pathological lying tendencies too and he's been working on it. But there is always doubt in the back of my head and I'm always doubling checking to make sure everything equals up to what he's saying. It's hard but you have an awesome support system here! You can always shoot me a message on here or Facebook if you need to vent. Hugs to you and Ben!!

  • @Steamboat1679 Thank you.

@CL8BadB Thanks lady. From what I've read this does typically result from low self esteem. I think a lot comes from that as well as a rough childhood. It's almost like he can't control it. There are so many lies in a day that it is shocking. Obviously, the work ones are to make himself appear cooler, more fun, more interesting, etc to his colleagues but his lying to me is not for those reasons and is destroying our relationship. One example is him saying he was tied up at work until late yesterday but truthfully he was at a happy hour. That's just one, everyday example... I've said that if we are ever going to work he must seek counseling but we will both initially go as well since I have no idea how to handle this.
  • @colieann31 is he in counseling or anything? And thank you. It's nice to hear that others can relate although I'm sorry that you are going through this.
  • BEDMAS= Buy Every Damn Milkshake At Sonic??
But we don't have Sonic! *tears* Still, better than truth, which is, we just pronounce it as bed mass.
Sonic is great in theory and in commercials but their food never looks like what they show in those commercials. I wanted a Sonic so badly around us and talked about how I'd go to Sonic all the time.  They put a new Sonic in about 10 minutes from my house and I went often for the first month and then stopped.  Their texas toast breakfast sandwiches always look like someone stepped on it and their slushes arent as good as Dairy Queen's arctic chills.
I am going to get flamed for this, aren't I?

  • @funkyphoenix, no he's not unfortunately. I have brought it up during a fight we were having but he brushed it off. He definitely has a problem and this is basically his last chance to get his shit together or Grayson and I are gone. We've only been together for 2 years but this has been a big problem. Makes me sad to think that I could be a single mom if he doesn't figure his shit out.

  • @CL8BadB I think he does think he will "get in trouble". We have had a million discussions about this and I always say that I don't give a shit just don't lie. When you lie, yes, I have big problems with it. I used to go to HH's often after work. Not a big deal as long as its not an everyday thing and you don't lie. Early in our relationship he would go to HH's and get wasted and not come home until late at night, so we had some issues then. Again, it was about lying bc he would say I'll be home by 7, my phone died, I had to take so and so to his car, blah blah blah. Lies lies lies.
  • @Zigspective That kind of went through my mind and scared me. I kind of feel like "Who is this person? Do I know you?" The fact of always being kept separate from something so important (he is extremely work and money focused) is extremely concerning.
  • @ kames12 thank you!
  • @colieann31 I'm sorry. I hope he works on it. I've given my H and ultimatum. It's get help and work this out or we can't be together. We have to build trust again I need to learn to respect and like him again.
  • @tiffletons518 I only gave you a love tit to help keep you on the leaderboard. Sorry your neighbor has horrible timing with the snowblower, hope LO is able to sleep through the noise.

  • @smpeachy Ben does that too, even in his car. He can push backwards but not forward. He can sort of army crawl backward but not forward. In his mind, he wants to go forward and when he goes backward he gets upset and sometimes cries. It a lot of FUN. Lol.
  • ((Hugs)) @funkyphoenix. I hope counseling helps you both!

  • @riansmommie Ha! Thanks! Well, she either gave up and shut it off, or it died. Either way it's a temporary win for me :)
  • @funkyphoenix I hope it works out for you both. I hate lies! My husband lies about the dumbest shit and it really messes with your head. Good luck! Let me know if you ever need to vent.

    Thank you, girl!

  • I have a sonic tea nearly everyday. Half sweet half unsweetened with extra ice. Their ice is awesome.
  • OMG. We got 14 inches of snow yesterday so I haven't left the house since Monday night and probably won't until tomorrow am. DD has decided that this is the best time to decide not to nap. She did all right yesterday morning but the afternoon and this morning have been a joke. I evidently fail at staying home with my kid.
