  • I may have caved and purchased a shiny new box of Lucky Charms 2 days ago.  It may now be an empty hulk of a box in my trashcan.  Milk may have never had a chance to enter the picture.

I may also be gluten intolerant.  And for that, I apologize to my husband, and anyone who has had to be around me for the past few days (and the next few hours).

So it's not really a FFFC, but this made me think of something I could share:

My mom told me the other day that she knew it was time to ween me off the boob after I made it a habit during feedings to look her right in the eye, grin, and then bite down   ;;)
I almost quit right then and there the first time I got bitten. And then the next time when she laughed at my pain. Little shit.

More confessions: even though I know it's for the best, every time DS gets vaccines at a check up, I freak the fuck out for a moment and wonder if I'm poisoning. Every. Damn. Time. My pedi must think I'm a psycho.

I will admit that I had to ask a bunch of questions before I felt ok with the chicken pox vax. We did give it but we had a nice convo about it with the pedi first.

I hate reading baby shower and name questions on the BMB. It's just my own issues but it makes me feel so anxious. I love you all but save me from myself by not post that ish here. Yep flame away.

I don't understand why it makes you feel anxious? I don't like them because 99% of the time I don't give 2 shits what you name your kid. Like when it's a poll that says which of these 2 names is better? And they're both perfectly fine names. But I'm totally guilty of creating a name-related post. I just felt like I wanted opinions from people here that I'm familiar with and trust more than the Baby Names Board.
It's totally that holy sh!t I'm behind on getting things done feeling. Again not for any real reason other than my own strangeness.
  • My confession: I write lots of posts and comments that I never actually post. I write them, then think no one really wants to hear what I have to say so I just hit cancel. I'm sure it's making it hard for you guys to get to know me, but then did you really want to anyway? Oh dear, now I just sound mopey. *eye rolling at myself*

Also I ordered 5 boxes of GS cookies before I knew if I was going to get to eat them. Today I found out I passed the glucose test! Woot!

  • So uhhh - I just had an epiphany about when this LO was conceived. I have never had normal cycle and we were not trying to get pregnant, so this was pretty surprising for us in general, but hard to exactly date back. If our EDD is correct, we conceived the week AFTER our honeymoon. MIL has been posting a ton of old photos on FB this morning for some reason, including some of our camping trip we took with DHs entire family right at the end of summer. Now for my FFFC: Call it "honeymoon/wedded bliss", if you will, but the first night there me and DH could not keep our hands off one another. We have a 5 year old (was 4 at the time) and while at home we are always very aware of where she is and just how asleep she is when we decide to get it onnnnnn. We are very conservative when it comes to our sexual relationship around our family, of course. Well uhhh-this camping trip, this particular night, we had our own big tent for our family (myself, DH, DD 4, DS 13 months at the time). We somehow managed to very inconspicuously have ridiculously hot "forbidden" sex while in our sleeping bag. In the same tent as our children... For lack of "supplies" and not wanting to make a lot of movement or noise, there was no pulling out or anything of the sort. This camping trip took place the week AFTER our honeymoon. Welcome to the world, little lady!
Haha! This LO was happy birthday DH and momma got new heels sex. ;)
Ours was we're on a road trip out west and challenged ourselves to have sex in every state, which by the end was every night, which coincides with LO's conception date.

  • Re the vibrator discussion, same here, this morning.

I went with my mom today to BBB to finish registering and in the maternity clothes section I made a comment that I needed new clothes but had no money for them, so she offered to buy me a shirt. This was my intent all along.  It's her first and likely only grandkid so she's totally going to spend too much on him anyway but I feel slightly guilty.

  • My DH decided on his very own to help make dinner tonight. And also that he should make something sweet. He made the brownie mix from Trader Joe's, which I've been saving.
He needed help scraping the thick batter out of the bowl right after I licked the spoon. He said I'll take that so you can fix it. I gave him "I'll stab you eyes" he had to say that he'd hold it for me and not eat it for me to give him the spoon. It was like chocolate icing but better. Also I spend a recidulous amount of time scraping the bowl for every last morel of batter - for my mouth.
  • My hubby works overnights and sleeps during the day. This morning he went grocery shopping after work and he got nothing that makes meals, and no cereal, for the second time. I just don't get what he spends the money on. So in irritation I've been scrounging in the kitchen, eating chips, crackers, fruit, basically whatever I could find because I didn't want pasta again.

So my confession is I didn't eat a full meal for dinner, and am ticked at my hubby for it even though I could have made something because he said he was getting stuff for meals and didn't, and he's still sleeping and doesn't even know I'm ticked so I'm just sitting here stewing.
  • I'm making pop tarts for breakfast before my dad picks us up to take us out for breakfast. No shame here. I'm officially a hobbit.

So now for my real FFFC.

I peed on the couch this morning. Just a dribble. I had an unexpected sneeze, and I snissed. Just enough that I had to change, and dab at the spot on the couch. DH laughed the entire time.

**No toilet seats, bathroom floors, or bare feet were hurt in the making of this FFFC.**
Last time this happened to me, DH looked at me and asked, "Do you think we need to get you some of those adult diaper things?"  If looks could kill...

Totally ate like 10 mini-frosted donuts and finished the bag...in front of DH.  #sorrynotsorry

  • I returned the car seat my mom got us for Christmas at Babies R Us #1, then took a used bouncer to Babies R Us #2 for the great trade in. Then re-purchased the same car seat for $50 less. Ha! $50 on a Babies R Us Gift Card!

    This is excellent.

My son may or may not have been conceived when I was bent over a chair, dressed like a pirate.

This child may or may not have been conceived when I was drowning my sorrows in booze because I was depressed that my son was turning 2.

I will see your granola bar in the bra for 7 hours and raise you a cheese ball in the bra for 10 hours.

I don't use "I will stab you eyes" when I'm warning my H off taking my food. I will actually look him in the face and calmly inform him that I will kill him while he sleeps.

    Oh you made my morning!

and hey hey no shaming my husband has good reasons for no coffee... i drink too much soda lol... my caffeine intake is at its limits.. plus if i had to choose one ill choose the soda i guess! Though ive been craving a mocha lately.
It's one thing if it's your choice not to drink coffee because you drink to much mountain dew.  But he won't let you. Oh, hellz no.
And it's not him I choose to shame. It's you, for seriously saying my husband won't let me and being fine with it.
For reals, yo.  I'm a pretty old-fashioned lady in a lot of respects, but if my husband ever even insinuated that I "wasn't allowed" to drink coffee, shower by myself, cut my hair or whatever I would laugh in his face.

FFFC:  People who use "LOL" in place of/as frequently as punctuation make me feel like this:

FFFC:  Most of my emotions can be summed up in Steve Buscemi gifs.
I'm currently sipping on a french vanilla capuccino...it's yummy so my DH could suck my dick if he had a problem with it.

Also, if I ever use "LOL" know that it is not me but an imposter. I am not a thirteen year old girl.

My FFFC (on Saturday) is that I went to the gym this morning and there was a new guy there trying it out. His wife was with him but not dressed to work out so my dad (the gym owner/trainer) asked why she wasn't trying it and she responded with I'm 14 weeks pregnant... Normally this would not bother me because I know working out (especially crossfit) is not for everyone while pregnant, but she made me ill because she was at least 250lbs and obviously wouldn't exercise pregnant or not.

Also, when my dad pointed me out and told her that I was 6 months pregnant I felt way too proud of myself haha sorry not sorry.

I am aware that it is intimidating, I was once an out of shape beginner also. I was not ill because she did not want to try crossfit, I was ill because she used pregnancy as an excuse to not try something that she obviously wasn't into.
  • I have always had what I thought was an irrational fear that if I ever started going to a gym people would judge me in their heads.  Never thought to worry that they'd shame me out loud too!

I'm not quite sure why it's awesome that your dad publicly shamed her, regardless of who she is or what she looks like.

ETA: Now I'm going to be checking the tri boards for a vent from someone who had some dude publicly call her out because his super awesome daughter is 6 months pregnant doing crossfit but she wasn't.
My dad didn't publicly shame her, he was just pointing out to her that we can modify workouts for pregnant people if she did want to try it but she still didn't. It's totally her choice as to whether or not she wants to start working out, but using pregnancy as the reason not to is what gets me.

Isn't it recommended to not start a rigorous exercise routine after you're already become pregnant? It's one thing to continue something your body is already used to. But to start doing Cross Fit at 14 weeks pregnant, I think that would not be advised. My doctor suggested I continue to stay active by walking, things like that, but not to start anything new and rigorous that I wouldn't be used to.
My doctor also said don't start a new exercise routine while pregnant, just do the things that you had done before.  So did my doctor from my last pregnancy.
I guess my problem is that I don't see the pregnancy modified versions of the workouts (there's another pregnant woman at the gym so he just goes ahead and writes out a modified one for both of us to do) as "rigorous." But that is compared to the normal crossfit WODs which are awful...I guess in comparison to other types of working out it may be. She was there to "check it out" though so yes we tried to convince her to do it, we try to convince everyone to do it, but I guess she either got scared or maybe didn't feel like it was safe once she came in.

I think it's very likely that she heard from her doctor that she shouldn't start doing a new exercise program while she was pregnant.  A lot of us heard that.  So maybe she felt like saying that she wasn't going to because she was pregnant was a perfectly valid excuse.  Just because you don't see them as rigorous, doesn't mean that every pregnant woman is going to jump up and do them because they're with their husband who is trying it out.
She was there to see if it was something that she was interested in (maybe her doc told her to become more active) but she wasn't planning on actually jumping in today like her husband was. We were simply trying to show her that it can be safe for pregnancy and convince her to try it out. But maybe we should have just said ok and left it alone. I was still proud of myself for being there to show that it isn't dangerous and believe me I've felt anything but proud of myself at the gym lately
  • @RedInLove I admit that first part is insensitive, but she said she couldn't do it because she is pg, well she was pg when she came in so I don't think that was really the reason. And I'm totally cool with people not wanting to do it, I know it can be intimidating, but I don't like when people act like pregnancy is a handicap.

The second part sounds bad until you realize that I am the owner's daughter and a trainer and lately I'm the fat, winded person questioning the workouts around all the "gym bunnies." It felt good to be used as an example today.
