My winter coat doesn't zip anymore either. I am so mad about it and I refuse to spend money on a new one so I walk around with it wide open. I have been meaning to go check out goodwill or Salvation Army but can you even wash a jacket? I always dry clean mine but that is like $20 to take it somewhere and I'm cheap.
Yes, you can wash them. I wash my kids once a week.

You have to be careful if it is a waterproof jacket, though. If it has goretex on it you have to wash it in cold water and don't dry it.
Once a week??!?! I can't even wash my own underwear once a week.
LOL- They stink after a week of recess and playing outside every day. Sunday nights I do a load with their coats, snow pants, hats, gloves and scarves.
I'm so frustrated right now..my DH missed promotion (and a massive pay raise) by 2 points this month. Can I go cry now?
NOOOOOOOooooo!! omg, that is so frustrating to miss it by so little. Yes, go cry, but not in front of DH because I am sure he feels shitty enough about it.

You can totally wash a jacket! I used to even wash my down coat...I just washed on the hand wash/delicate cycle in cold water, then dried on low heat for 2 cycles to fluff it up.
Of course, if it says "dry clean only", you'll want to ignore what I just said.

Thanks I hate the military some (most) days. This now makes 11 months waiting for the magic computer system to decide he gets promoted, doesn't matter that he's been doing the job for a year now. I'm going to go bake a cake now to drown my sorrows in..
Ok, I'm gonna let my inner mean girl show and attempt to control the internet. Ready? Ok, good.
Can we come up with some kind of signal or something to let other RTT thread users know when it's us giving birth? Someone pointed out that the most recent birth announcement was that person's first post on A14. Ever. Now, people can post where they want. I personally don't get posting a birth story on a board you've never commented on, but whatever. People can get their jollies however they'd like. But as much as I'm very "y'all come in, everyone's welcome!" about the board, I feel like I'm gonna be kinda busy in the month of April, knowwhatImean, and I don't wanna spend time reading through a bunch of strangers' birth stories. I know a bunch of us are on mobile, so here's my proposition: when I go into labor I'll ask @WifeofaComposer (my LB) to put "BiggerinRealLife is in labor!!" or something like that as the title. That way my name is there and y'all can know it's me, and not just another post titled "Baby [insert name here] is here!!!!" You definitely don't have to do this, but I thought it'd make it easier for us to find each other while were all in labor and/or nursing.
THIS IS NOT MEANT TO MAKE ANYONE FEEL INSECURE ABOUT THEIR POST COUNTS! I have a really good memory, and if you've posted on the board even a handful of times I will be so happy to read your birth story and celebrate with you. I can just see a lot of birth posts coming in from people who have legitimately never posted here before, and I'd rather save my celebrating for the A14 ladies I've gotten to know and love.

I'm on board with that @BiggerinRealLife even though I'm not an RTT regular. I'd say I'm an A14 regular but RTT semi-lurker.
Can I just say that I don't think we should limit who we deem the regulars are solely on who does and doesn't post in the RTT? Not saying that we do that, and those who post in the RTT are usually regulars outside of here, but just.. I don't know. It seems like there's a bit of that attitude sometimes.

@SlSchuerg oh I'm not saying only RTT people are regulars at all. But it's either post it in here where lots of people come and the thoughts are random, or make a new thread and REALLY try and control the internet. It's just a suggestion, and I'm feeling snippy today.
And I don't think RTT people think we're the only regulars. But it is kind of a group within a group, and since we all kind of treat it like an ongoing Facebook status update, we've gotten to know each other better than we may have gotten to know others on this board who are regular but don't post in RTT.

Some lady who is trying to sell something to my office something came in and told me my face has gained weight. Ummm.... Thanks? I am blown away. Torn between a TP or a cry (even though I don't care that much).
Has anyone had something like a back "facial" done? I really need someone to look at my back, it is so riddled with volcanoes and DH won't do it.
Katie, I don't know what salons you have near you, but I did a "Caribbean Back Treatment" at the Aveda Institute. They did extractions first, then a scrub, a mask, and oil free moisturizer on my back. It was amazing and it was cheap!
@BiggerinRealLife I didn't think your post was snippy at all. I think it's pretty much the same thing as when all the anatomy scans were happening, and some of us may or may not have cared as much if so-and-so was having a boy or girl because they're not an active participant of the board. Having a group weekly announcement helped with that a lot since you could check for the name, find their comment and love and reply to the comment, and now you're being proactive in making sure that doesn't happen when all of our little ones start arriving. Nothing wrong with that!

Soo if we don't have LB, should we put our sn in our own post title? Lol feel kind of funny saying "tferr02 had baby boy", however I completely will to get some extra love

I didn't get BIRL's comment to mean that regulars are only people that post in RTT. She was just suggesting to put your name or your LB's name in the thread title to announce a birth so mobile users know who the thread is about. Just food for thought not a request to make you question if you are a regular or not. It just helps you and everyone else not miss any of the exciting birth announcements of people you have come to know in A14 as a whole.

Most spas can do exactly that - a back facial... They typically include an exfoliating scrub/wash, mask/peel, moisturization, neck and shoulder massage, and blackhead extractions. I've seen them on several spa menus when looking to book a spa treatment for myself. I hear they feel wonderful. Enjoy!
I think the person @jellysparkles wants to block posted in UO as usual. If it's who I think it is, it's a poster that usually has posts full of condemnation and rude remarks. She thinks she's right about everything.
@LoriMc12 I wasn't trying to imply that I perceived her comment that way or that's what she meant. But when she said, "Can we come up with some kind of signal or something to let other RTT thread users know when it's us giving birth?" it just reminded of a few times when I've seen different statements made, like how @toothpastechica brought up that some people requested being an active RTTer as a requirement/preference for their LB. Not that I have a problem with how close everyone's been able to get by utilizing the somehow anonymous, yet conspicuous RTT. It's actually pretty impressive how easily it is to get away with casually talking about someone without them having any idea (ie sex swing thread).

Good looking out! I am going to have to do some research. It's killing me.
Decided I'm busting out the pasta roller this weekend. I've been thinking about fresh pasta and homemade sauce all week. It's time I suck it up and give into the craving.

I wish I was smart enough to figure this out.
Her name begins with an L...
And it may or may not remind you of Sisimama's screen name... :-?

I'm so tired this week! I'm reading everything, saying hi!! And going to go hit up the UO to see what the heck is going on. Anyone else just dead tired?? When did this come back???

And that signal simply meant the suggestion of putting our screen names in the thread title. Really, who isn't more interested in being paired up for LBs or being in the know with news of people they recognize on the board? The RTT just happens to be one of the ways that has made it easier to recognize and get to know some of the many awesome ladies on A14.
I also find it impressive that the RTT is right in front of everyone's eyes but feels so hidden at the same time.
