I'm cleaning out mine and DH's closet and taking all our clothes to a thrift store for some extra cash! I carried in 7 of the large blue ikea bags. How the hell did we accumulate so much shit!?!?
It was slightly depressing thinking 'I will never be able to put myself in that again because it will either a) never for right or b) be slightly in appropriate to where with a son running around the house!'
Do you guys think its weird to post selfies on FB before you have surgery? Like, showing you with the compression stocking on, showing you with the oxygen in your nose, showing the IV. I just find this really odd and attention grabby.
Yes. Very weird. My mom's husband posts pictures of himself before and after surgeries... it totally comes across as him wanting everyone to feel sorry for him. Then he refuses to rest and winds up re-injuring himself and posts statuses about that.
I'm not really a shower etiquette follower, I'm all for going to a shower for a second baby (usually a smaller gift though) and all that stuff that some people get riled up about. However, I just got an invite to a bridal shower for a wedding that I'm not invited to. I find that ridiculously tacky. You'll invite me to give you gifts, but you won't invite me to the wedding? I think not.
Yeah, that is incredibly rude. Is this person someone you would have expected a wedding invite from? I only ask because there is the off chance that the wedding invite ended up lost in the mail or she skipped your name on the list accidentally when addressing invites. I just can't imagine someone purposely inviting you to a shower but not the wedding.
------
This totally happened to me. By my mom's best friend's daughter whom I grew up with. I don't care about their wedding, I haven't seen/talked to her in years and she got invited to my wedding on a technicality, but it was suuuuuper tacky to get an invite to her shower knowing (from my mom) that I wasn't on the wedding guest list. But they are tacky people, so whatever.

I knew someone that just recently had a baby and Instagramed most of her labor. She has her husband create a twitter account to update everyone too instead of him responding to texts.
This I can ALMOST understand, but, its still a bit off in my book (in terms of TMI). But this is for an abdominal surgery. Maybe its because this person is just attention grabby on FB anyway and constantly talks about her health problems. Like, for example she told me once she had her gallbladder removed, but, then suddenly that turned in to her actually having an ovary removed? Which, is just weird.
Grilled cheese sandwich with extra butter and extra cheese on thick-sliced homemade bread and a tall glass of Coke. I think I may have died and gone to heaven. Omnomnom!!
I'm measuring 3 weeks ahead of where I am...Guess there will be no need to register for any small clothes for my massive boy!! Haha.
It could be excess fluid! I have a friend who was told she was way ahead and actually had a 7lb baby. Which sucked because she gave away all the nb diapers from her diaper cake thinking she wouldn't need them. Turns out she had a ridiculous amount if amniotic fluid.
This^^ or if they measured fundal height then it could be the position of baby. Ultrasounds are known to be off too or baby could have had a growth spurt and will the growth will level off. I measured 2 weeks ahead with DS and he was born right at 7 lbs.
----
^^this. They just covered this in birthing class last night. Ultrasounds are 2D and our wombs are 3D, so they're not SUPER accurate at measuring the weight of the baby or the fluid levels. They can't measure volume, only length.

Woo hoo! H and I finally made the final decision on baby naming. My SIL wanted us to decide so she could incorporate it into the baby shower and so she could make him some stuff so that sped up the process a little bit. I'm excited
What did you decide on? Did you go back to Jackson?
William Tanner nn being Liam. We came up with it a while ago but we finally decided that was the name. What a relief!

A girl on my IG posted a picture of her smiling, laying in the hospital bed before she got a D&C. I judged the shit out of her.

SIL just emailed me her exam and wants the answers. How do I say I don't feel right without sounding bitchy? It's all very practical stuff she'll absolutely need to know, and just...no. I don't mind helping with papers, reading over stuff when she's done - but wtf here's my the basics of how to be a social worker exam do it for me?!
I think I'm going to play up the sick card, even though I'm feeling better. Or make DH figure out how to be tactful. Lunch went down ok, so I'm going to be reckless and make a mug cake and catch up on Grimm and knit. I dragged out the baby blanket I started for DS, and I've gotten some more work done on it - but it goes so slowly, I feel like we're going have to have a few more kids before one actually gets a finished product! :P
That's weird for her to ask for the answers! I would just flat out tell her no without sugar coating it. Besides, the exam can't be that difficult. I'm a swk major and it's all relatively easy material and common sense.

WHAAAT?! That's sick!!
She is definitely the type to be attention grabby but even then that bothered me. Yay! I lost my baby and now I'm getting a D&Cso let me post a picture of me smiling before my procedure. She's a fucking idiot.
I feel like such an ungrateful bitch for wishing my shower was sooner. I'm gonna be 37 weeks and 6 days pregnant. I really wanted it not to be so close to my due date just in case I'm super uncomfortable. I feel like being that far along at my shower is just gonna be super uncomfortable and all I'm gonna do is sit around and not mingle with the guests.
@deidremaria I hear you! Mine is around the same time and I'm worried about that too. I'm also worried about having to sort through and organize everything, wash clothes, put together baby gear, buy baby gear.... Seems like a lot to do within a few weeks.

EXACTLY. And with everyone saying that I should wait until after the shower to shop it just makes me feel like I'm procrastinating. And it doesn't help that I agreed to a gender reveal shower so I'm pretty much kicking myself for that too because most of everything I want to do (as far as artwork for the nursery) is gonna have baby's name on it.
Tuna should never be served warm.
Also this....
Zero control over these ass clowns
That's too funny. My cats know to run like hell if they get caught on the kitchen counter. The only counter in the kitchen they're allowed to put a paw on is the one they use to get on top of the fridge. The bathrooms are a whole different story.. I have no control over that insanity.

Oh they know better, and run like hell when it's DH. Me, they could give two shits. The white one lays in my sink in the bathroom while I'm showering and getting ready! Your picture is too funny! Just this morning I found one of my "top of the cupboard" decorations knocked onto the floor, which means they have finally figured out how to jump from the counter to the fridge to the top of the cupboards!

Girl, we can complain and be total brats about it together... They are planning mine 12 days before my due date. I'm super appreciative because I really just chalked it up as a loss and figured I would get no shower, but I can't help but be like Really? I can't help but imagine planning it so close and then me having to be like "oops sorry" and all the work is down the drain...
Slightly judging a "friend" on fb. She posts pics all the time of her 4 month old "watching" tv. She also posts 5,000 pics of her daughter basically looking the exact same in each one every day.

Score: I've been sorting through totes all day and came across extra wedding favors that had Lindt truffles inside!! Was going to save one for DH, but baby had other ideas.

Karma!!! If he wasn't wasted he'd totes be able to enjoy the chocolate! Boo ya!
@BiRL I finally met my SO's best friend's girlfriend last night (yikes, what a mouthful). She has a 9 month old and actually had some great advice for me. I haven't been around a small baby in such a long time! It's hard to believe I'll have one of those soon!!!
I may have to go steal some of DH's Pepsi, feeling awful about not getting crap done today. Trying to cut back on my sugar and carb intake in case I do have GD, but... sometimes there's just no helping it. *facedesk*

I told DH if I ever get like that slap me!
@pineconey she's the wife of DH's friend that he doesn't really talk to anymore. I don't really know her (it's that kind of fb friend) or I totally would!
Had a lovely day in DC with the mid-50 degree weather with DH! Suppose to snow storm and be bitterly cold starting tomorrow. Hope you all had a great day!
So DH and I realized that we only need an additional $500/mo to be able to not stress about groceries/health insurance once my unemployment runs out. Which is much less than expected, but still making me want to sock away a good year's worth of that.
Unfortunately, our sectional which we got for free from a friend, is a total piece of crap, and when DH and I sat on "the bad side" this weekend, I heard the wood frame start to crack. Awesome. My mom is looking at couches on Craigslist for us and keeps coming up with "budget" options that are $700+ and it's killing me to think of spending that much money on a piece of furniture that our baby will inevitably poop, pee, puke, draw and rip. Especially since every time I see something over $500, I get sad and think "that's another month I could stay home with James".
And this is on top of me desperately needing a Lazy Boy for nursing/sleeping. So I'm already trying to find a decent deal on that. All of our furniture is just ridiculously uncomfortable (save our mattress) and I can't sit down on it for more than a couple hours without my back killing me. Which seems more important? Couch or recliner?
