Large family dinner early in the evening, then back home before the crazies are on the road, and then a movie night with DH when the kids are asleep. We'll celebrate east coast NYE here on the west coast to still get sleep
Hubby works 2nd shift in a maximum security prison. And he's on guard for nye so LO and I will be in bed sleeping or nursing! That's fine because I have no desire to go anywhere. But I will be drinking some Pinot noir.
One of our friends is having a "kid friendly" NYE party, with one celebration at 9pm and another at midnight. It starts at 7 so we will probably go from 7-9 and then head home.
We have a close couple friend coming over like we've done in the past. They also have a 2 year old and an infant (2 months), so it will be low key and kid friendly. There will be wine.
FWIW, she's a bumpie turned IRL friend and our DH's happened to click as well!
I'm sure I'll be nursing around midnight. DH and I are planning to order a mountain of Chinese food and watch some movies. We might see if some friends with a 4 month old want to come by and join us.
It's our wedding anniversary, but I don't think we will be doing anything fun this year. Just the usual pumping, nursing, trying to sleep when the baby does. (
We're actually going out. I can't believe it's happening! I don't think I'll really believe it until I'm there, drinking champagne & talking to real, live adults.
I am making some yummy appetizers (read: heating up -- they're from Trader Joe's), getting some good wine, and will be spending it on the couch with DH and kids. We may have a couple friends stop by before they go out somewhere but I am not jealous in the slightest.
We always have a Chinese take out and a few bottles of apple cider. DH's birthday is new years day so he always gets one present at midnight. DH will also do the backdoor coal run tradition.
Spending it at home with LO, DH, Anderson cooper and Kathy griffin. Maybe a glass of wine (not two) had my first hangover headache man does that suck! All off of 2 glasses of wine, but I also hadn't had a lot of water to drink that day and I'm a big lightweight now :P
My mom is flying in from Chicago to visit me for the first time since I gave birth. It will be over a month since she has seen little Elle. She's grown so much

@loolaide how many bottles do you plan on having ready? I don't know why I can't figure out how to do this if I want to have a couple drinks. The other night I was going to have a couple glasses of wine after we gave LO a bottle but I didn't have my pump so I ended up feeding since I got so engorged.

I'm planning on nursing and pumping right before I start drinking and also having 8 oz ready in the fridge. I know I won't need that much but I had a couple of beers at brunch the other day and the 4 oz I had out for that wasn't enough. I think my pumped milk tends to be more foremilk, so it's not as filling.
I have some in the freezer that I could always defrost (takes maybe 20 minutes) if he's crazily hungry, too, and I'm not opposed to pumping and dumping to make up for any of it, since he's so young.
So how many feedings do you think that will last? Because Ill probably end up with 5 or 6 2oz bags and I also plan on BFing him right before I start drinking. Also, how much should F offer him at each feeding? 3oz?
Sorry, this is my first time doing this.. and I'm extremely nervous
I'm so lame. I had half a beer a coule of nights ago and felt like crap. So I just picked up some sparkling cider, but I doubt we'll be up at midnight.
We're going to order Chinese food and do a whole lot of nothing! My DH is thrilled we don't have to go out for New Years this year and I'm too exhausted to care to be honest. I plan on having my first glass of wine since finding out I was pregnant! I can't wait to see how tipsy I get from it and how miserable I am when she wakes up to nurse. Whoo!
@ansleyturner, I think it'll last two feedings for my son, based on what he had last time.
Generally, assume they'll drink an ounce an hour. However, since this is at night, up that a little (they usually cluster feed at night so they can sleep longer). If you have the same experience as I did and your LO drinks more since your pumped milk has more foremilk, up that a little more.
The 12 oz that you have should be enough for half a day, so I wouldn't worry about running out. But you might use more than you think you will based on the oz an hour rule. Offer 2-3 oz a feeding and, if he's still hungry, offer more in 1 oz increments. Also, make sure you're familiar with paced feeding to mimic the flow from the breast (hold him upright, hold the bottle horizontally , burp every 1/2-1 oz, make sure the feeding lasts about 20 minutes), otherwise, he could gulp down more than he normally would.

Probably not a thing. Hopefully, we can get the babies to sleep and get some couple time. I'm EBF, so I don't even know if I'll be having anything to drink. DH is really skiddish about me having even a sip... even if I Pump 'n Dump.
On our way to the doc appointment I asked DH if he would go to my friends party in the city. He thought I was nuts... However, Doc says I'm 4 cm, 100% effaced and wanted to keep me because my cox are 2 min long. He let me go since I live so close and told me to walk. Hopefully, I'm in the hospital for NYE!
