We will cook a nice dinner at home, and have a couple drinks. I've saved a nice bottle of red wine given to us as a gift to open tomorrow night. I usually make it til midnight and watch the ball drop so hopefully that happens. Then go to bed. Exciting stuff here! H works the next day so I don't wanna be hung over whatsoever being alone with 2 kids all day.
We always have a Chinese take out and a few bottles of apple cider. DH's birthday is new years day so he always gets one present at midnight. DH will also do the backdoor coal run tradition.
Whoa.. What's a back door coal run? It sounds dirty...... Lol jk
The man of the house takes a piece of coal from the fireplace and goes out of the backdoor around the house and then in the front door, before returning the coal and burning it. It is to bring good luck to the home for the new year.
No idea where the tradion originated from but my Grandfather used to do it and DH started to do it when we got our first home.

I really want to drink but DH still has shingles and I'm the only one who can take care of baby. I have no tolerance and also don't want to be hungover.
