I'm 99% sure this just worked. Twice.
I haven't felt anything yet (19 weeks 2 days) and was told I have an anterior placenta at my 16w gender scan.
I remember reading a few weeks ago that my baby could see light. "Cool" I thought. I shined a light at myself, nothing happened, I forgot about it. Tonight I decided to try again, and I'm almost positive I felt her moving around in there! I did it before on the couch, and just now in bed. I used the obnoxious light on my iPhone and moved it around. I'm sure I made her angry. (Sorry kiddo, I'll be annoying you for the rest of my life)
I think knowing when to feel for movement might have helped, and maybe the kind of squirming she did to get away from the light is easier to feel than the random kicks/jabs. (who knows)
Anyway, thought I'd share in case you wanted to give it a try!

I think I felt my first kick at the ultrasound this morning. I felt something and at the same time the baby launched back as if he had pushed himself off with his foot. It really helped to see the visual of the baby moving in order to connect that feeling with baby movements. Now I think I've felt it a few times today.
