Another May baby! and successful VBAC

Team green turned Team pink!  Eleanor Alice was born yesterday on May 20th at 12:46am (in Germany).  She was born at 38 weeks, 7 lbs 6 oz, 20 inches long. VBAC success! 

The birthing details:  I started to really lose my mucus plug last Wednesday and continued up through labor.  Since Wednesday, I was experiencing contractions off and on but they would taper off during the night.  The contractions started to get more intense as the weekend went on and I was getting more uncomfortable.  I did my normal workout on Sunday, swimming 1500 meters but had to take it easy a couple times due to contractions.  Once I got home I continued to have more contractions every 4-5 minutes apart.  I ate dinner, sat in the tub and finished packing my bags for just in case.

At 8PM, I told DH we needed to head to the hospital as my contractions were getting stronger.  When we arrived I was only 2 cm dilated.  They had me walk around the hospital for 2 hours.  At the one hour mark I headed back to L&D because the contractions were so intense and I could not manage them on my own.  I was checked and went from 2 cm to 7 cm in an hour.  I quickly hit the transition stage of labor while they had to run blood tests prior to an epidural.  I pooped everywhere, was on all fours, lots of screaming, DH almost passed out...Needless to say, it was very intense!  They got my epidural in right before I started pushing.  I pushed for 1 hour before our DD was born.  

DS2 was born via csection and I really wanted to attempt a VBAC this time around.  I am so happy I was able to deliver vaginally.   

We are thrilled to have a little girl.  With 2 boys already, we were convinced we were having another boy so we were so surprised when she was born.  We go home tomorrow morning and all is well!
