All 3 of my kids slept through the night last night. This is huge. Not so much for DD1, she's almost 8. Or, even for DS... he's a great sleeper (not trying to be a jerk). But, DD2 is 3 1/2 and rarely sleeps all night. I wake up with her more than I do the baby. It's usually because she somehow tangled herself in her blankets, or her arm fell asleep, or she can't find her baby. But, I wake up 1-2 times a night with her every day. Last night, for probably the first time in 2 years.. I actually slept all night. I feel freaking amazeballs today. Hump day.... woot woot!
@musicalsilver Now I need a creme brulee torch for Christmas!
It was totally a present to DH a couple Christmases ago (or Birthdays, but same diff). Honestly, making s'mores is the only thing we use it for these days ;-)
Grayson ended up sleeping great last night since we had to give him Tylenol because he was a teething mess last night. But that meant he woke up at 7:30 this morning instead of his usual 9. I wouldn't have stayed up so late watching movies if I knew he was going to wake up earlier!
To really appreciate it though you need to go to the website which is complete with music and awesome. Strangely addicting. ("the website" is a linky for those of you on mobile).
I can't work out like I want to, so that means I just have to be really mindful of my diet. Which means I just want stuff I shouldn't be eating. Like bacon. Not like, bacon and eggs, or a BLT. Just bacon.
@maelara is it chapped? Your bra could be irritating it also . Do you have nipple cream that you could put on it? That's all I got. Hope it gets better soon, sore nips suck!
We are officially in the "I need to touch EVERYTHING phase"... Ugh. I didn't think this would happen so soon! So we are at Hobby Lobby yesterday (and you know how that place is) and Ben is sitting in the front of the cart... I'm squatting down looking at something on the bottom shelf and no more than 15 seconds later I look up to see my child leaning halfway out of the cart (gahhh!! #1) pulling a gazillion postcards off the rack and throwing them on the floor (gahhh!! #2)!! I really thought I had more time before this phase. I'm afraid of what lies ahead of me with this kid!
@funkyphoenix That story reminds me of when DD2 was about 18 months.. we were at the store, she was in the front of the cart. We were down a makeup aisle, and I'd crouched down to look at something on the bottom. I THOUGHT she was far enough away. I thought wrong. I see an arm out of the corner of my eye, she manages to grab a lipstick from one of those dispenser sort of display... and about a hundred tubes of lipstick shoot all over the floor. She hands me the one she has with a scared looking smile, "Um.. pretty momma?"
eta- the age.. apparently all my moments blur together.
I really don't want I be at work...the idea of being off for two weeks has taken over my brain... Who wants to start something when you are abt to be on a break...instead I will enjoy this treat from a student!
I just made those same treats last night!!! Yummy!
I'm mad that my sister wont be coming over for Christmas because her husband does care for me so now my parents have to split the day with all the grandkids. We've done Christmas here for the past 5 years. Also my feels are hurt because she hasn't even asked us to go over there. I would have never left her out even if my husband didn't care for her.
Do y'all read to your baby? I've read to her a couple times, but up until now she hasn't been able to sit on my lap while I hold a book, so she hasn't seen the pictures. And She gets fussy if I'm turning pages instead of holding her. BTDTs, when did you start reading to your older kids?
We've read while playing on the floor on our backs as well. She likes to look at the pictures and hear me talk. But she will definitely let me know when she's over it.
Santa wrapped our Christmas presents, but he had different wrapping paper than my parents. He didn't use the "to/from" tags either. He just wrote your name on the wrapping paper in big capital letters with a sharpie. Looking back, I should have thought that was weird. Not sure what I will do for my kids. Technically I have a year to really decide..
I don't work on Tuesdays but there was a big snow storm again and my office mates stayed late until it was over. We have a small office and they bought a shizzload of beer, good stuff too. So now the mini-fridge next to where I pump is fully stocked with Sam Adams. You bet your ass I am having one while I pump at 1 and 4. Helps with letdown yo. For the safety record I don't drive to work so I'm not a negligent mommy!
@CindyRelluh I need that hat where did you get it!
This is why:
I didn't take this pic but it is from the town I live in...
It's beautiful there. I've always thought how strange it is to come from/live with such a beautiful scenery and how day to day would make it just blend in, where not being from there I can't imagine having such a beautiful back drop to my days....love it!!!
I've got something horrifying to bury in this thread. On Sunday, Tyler and I had sex for only like the 5th, maybe 6th time postpartum. The reason being it hurts so bad. I never experienced this after Lucy's birth so ---TMI WARNING--- I asked him to have a look to see if there was an obvious reason for my discomfort. There is.
My midwife from hell sewed part of my labia to my body. Yep. Sure did. I have a Frankengina and it looked so different that my generally laid-back husband said he thinks we may need to consult a surgeon to fix it.
I think this has happened to a girlfriend of mine. She's holding out until she has another one hoping it fixes itself. I think this is a terrible idea for her. One if it hurts that bad she'll never want to do the deed that makes the new LO. I think seeing someone to redo the procedure is the best option. I would go to someone that is not involved with the practice of the doctor who did it though. That way you're getting a truer and honest thought on it. Doctors of the same practice stick together.
@nursemommy13 I just went back and watched the sneak peek of when it returns and I have no idea where the hell my brain came up with seeing her getting arrested. Now I feel like I'm going crazy lol
I saw it too. So if it didn't happen we are both crazy....
After 13 years together I still find DH to be a hottie. I still like looking at our wedding picture on my desk at work a few times a day. Like I say to my high maintenance kids, he's lucky he's so cute!
Is anyone else's LO keep pushing food out with their tongue? We started oatmeal maybe 2 weeks ago and avocado today, but everytime we give it to him, he sticks out his tongue and it all comes out! Does this just mean he isn't ready yet?
I can see this with some cat personalities, but I do believe that my cat loves me just as deeply as my dog does. Both were rescues I've found myself so maybe it's just a feeling of thankfulness I'm feeling from them both, but my cat is obsessed with me. Always has been.
@seashell002 yeah that's the tongue thrust reflex. Usually it's a sign they aren't exactly into solids yet. Lo does it too, so we've backed off. G didn't do it and acted far more ready at this age. I'm bummed because we were really looking for something more substantial to curb Lo's huge appetite!
Re: The thread of all threads!
One of our friends had a role in Anchorman 2 - even had a speaking part in the commercial! I can't wait to go see it - so excited for him!
ok this put me out of my crappy mood this morning, heart melting! too cute!
