I gave her watered down apple juie today for the vitamin c. She has been fighting off a cold for a month and I'm grasping at straws now. She actually really liked it and I let her drink it from a cup which went over surprisingly well. I don't think I'd do it regularly but that's because we decided that out house would be pop and juice free until c is older.
I gave LO an ounce or two of water when I was trying to get him to feed every three hours instead of every two. He kinda of thought water was funny (he laughed at it) and we went back to feeding on demand.
i actually asked our pedi about this and he said he doesn't want her drinking water until she's a year old because he doesn't want to fill her up with fluids that aren't nutritious. He also recommends no juice at all because of the sugar content. We're not going to start sippy cups until she's closer to 9 months since he said he wants her off bottles by the time she's a year old, but he said if we wanted to see what she does with a sippy cup, put milk or fomula in it.
We've done a teeny bit of water in a tiny shot glass. I put less than an ounce in, and she spills at least half of it, so that's how I know it's a teeny bit. We did not start until we started foods though. We were recommended it for digestion.

Yep. We're giving water with his food everyday and I gave him a little bit of prune juice when he was constipated. He not a bowel mover so the water is suppsed to help.
DS has had water in his straw cup and loves it. I limit him to 2oz a day.
I didn't give juice to my DD until she was 20 months old. I was worried she would stop drinking milk if I gave her juice. I feel like juice is empty calories.

I give her 2 oz of water in a sippy cup to play with in her highchair. She gets a little bit of it, but she mostly just likes to play with the cup. I'm not planning on any juice any time soon.

Obviously, a post about drinking water is an excellent opportunity for me to AW my son.
