I have bought DD 2 Christmas dresses, both in size 6 mo, which is the size she is wearing now, so I am seriously considering buying another dress in 9 months, just in case.
@jancandance One of my dearest friends just had a baby in September and I feel so incredibly horrible for saying it, but she's just not cute. I'm sure she will be, her parents are adorable, but her? Um, not so much.
I think every baby is really cute! I've never been able to not look at a baby and not think they were adorable! I am a sucker for babies though- I love them all!
I haven't gotten past the first page, but I'll admit I thought my baby was an ugly little alien for the first six weeks. MOTY here, right? Now I think he's cute, but I can't tell if he's really like Gerber baby cute or not because I'm obviously not impartial and few people will tell you that your kid is ugly to your face. I'll remain blissfully unaware of my baby's possible not cuteness.
I am secretly really happy my younger sister is now a week overdue with her first baby. She was all whiney with her perfectly healthy pregnancy towards the end that getting to work was hard (duh) and she was nervous about her water breaking at work so she complained enough to get a note from her doc getting her out of work at 38 weeks. I told her it was dumb and she would be bored at home. Plus I hate that it makes pregnant women look weak. Plus she was talking to her older sister who was just 12 days overdue with her second in flipping JULY when it's hot and I still went to work until the end. And now she is calling me every morning saying she is bored. And I am being good and biting my tongue not saying told you so, but it's getting really hard!
Also you aren't supposed to bribe kids- especially with food or TV. Sometimes I do all three simultaneously. "Graham if you get your coat on and cooperate you can eat M&Ms and watch 2 Thomases." Mom of the year!
I'm in the "afraid my baby isn't cute club too". As his mother, I'm convinced he's the cutest thing to ever exist and that is all that should matter.
My lovely mother used to love to remind me what an ugly baby I was. She thought it was ok since the thinks I "got cute later".
My mom is constantly saying how I was a frog and my sister was a potato...thanks Ma
My LO used to make a face in her sleep that (I thought) looked like Walter Matthau. I'm sad that she doesn't make it anymore, because I really loved it.
I'm reading these right after my son projectile spit up over my chest and bed, so jealous.
I've got a spitter too! And a drooler.
Yesterday on the subway after work I was a little zoned out with L in the ergo and the lady next to me tapped my shoulder and said 'Excuse me, I think your baby is throwing up on us'.......
I am hoping that hubby takes this new job offer, so we can move far far away from his family.
I really wish we lived hours from my mil...she just does things without thinking about how she may be stepping on anyone's toes. I feel like constantly shouting that you are the grandma, I'm the mom.
FFFC... It's a half day at school today and i am secretly hoping that some of my students don't come in because i just can't handle their behaviors today!

I won't lie, I thought my baby looked like quagmire for the first couple days of his life, his face was just gigantic compared to the rest of his body. I think he's super cute now but I do wonder if that's my 'mommy eyes' or not.
For what it's worth I've always thought the baby in your avatar (which I'm assuming is your baby) is really adorable.
I like my moms' group pretty well, but it's annoying the cr*p out of me that there's this undercurrent of intense jealousy going on about babies' sizes. People like to humble-brag about how big their babies are and what a pain in the a$$ it is, and they are very obviously jealous when someone else's baby is bigger.
I'm particularly sour about this because my baby is generally the biggest one (he's wearing 12-18 month clothes at 4 months--maybe he's Paul Bunyan or something), and NOTHING I can say will make these people anything but resentful of the fact (I compliment their babies on their size--they act like I'm being insincere. I reference my own big baby--they think I'm bragging. I compliment their babies on something else--I'm implicitly acknowledging that my baby is bigger, which is a no-no. I don't say anything--they think I'm a snob).
Who cares how big a baby is?? I love that my baby is big because it's just one of the things that makes him him, but he was never a tiny, easy-to-carry bean size like most of them, which I bet has its own perks. Anyway, it's weird. It's like competition in reverse over who is the thinnest.

Thanks!! Here's a pic of him where, at the time, I thought he looked like an alien (and sometimes Truman Capote and other times Churchill). Now I look at the pics and think he was kinda cute. (I think I just miss him being so small because he clearly was an alien baby.)
My husband was the complete opposite of me. He was shocked (and a little hurt) when I told him I thought LO looked like a little alien. At the time, he thought LO was so adorable and now he looks back at the pics and laughs about how not cute he was.
As for the funny looking babies, mine looked like Wallace Shaw, the little hobbit from Princess Bride. So cute in a bald funny voiced old man way. He looks just like his brother did though and now DS1 is a damn handsome little fella, as in girl toddlers are always like throwing their diapers at him he's so good looking. So have no fear if you have a grumpy old man or alien baby.

Haha first, that baby is hella cute. Second my hisband was scandalized when I told him too! Haha. Now he thinks its hysterical.
I bought a Galaxy Tab 3. I don't really need a new tablet...but I justified it because my Nook Color (that's 3 years old) will no longer hold a charge.
My husband thinks it's "our" tablet...bish please. I bought for me. haha
Lol. My husband couldn't stand sharing an iPad with me so one day he just bought me my own.

Me too. Our Christmas pics are tomorrow and I had to buy her a 6 month dress and Christmas pjs. Pretty sure I'll have to fork out another 40$ in 9 months for Christmas.

I have a baby on the smaller side and this past week both MH and I kept going on and on about how much she's been eating and how heavy she feels. Well fast forward to her 4 month appointment and our 'heavy' girl weighed 12.5 pounds.
I give all you moms with the bigger babies huge props because apparently I have the arm strength of a T Rex and 12.5 pounds feels heavy to me. I'm ashamed.
Well I guess another confession is that I think my son is freakin adorable! Lol
I'm in the babies are cute camp, I think all your lo's are cute! Seriously I've seen pics and I don't know what u guys are talking about! Besides, I thought it was already decided that june babies are the cutest babies?!

FWIW I have what is probably an 18-lb baby by now and I STILL have wimpy T-Rex arms. I have trouble lifting him. Don't be ashamed!
I groan and say, "You're such a big baby!" every time I pick up my 15lb LO. He used to be in the 97th percentile for length and weight but now he's dropped to 50th so I don't know what I'm groaning about anymore, but I still do.
My confession is that for no reason whatsoever I prefer to have my mom babysit LO, my MIL is a perfectly good person but I'm just not as comfortable when she watches her.

We are driving to Charlotte for a regional tournament for soccer. I fully intend on being wasted one of these nights. Yes it is a trip for my child but I don't care.
I wish I liked my husband's family more. I really want to, I just don't. It makes me feel like a bad person. In my defense we have been together almost 7 years and they really only started being nice to me when I got pregnant. I guess it just doesn't feel genuine and I'm constantly annoyed by them.
My kid could have come out with a tail and he would have been the cutest thing in the world. Infertility has really grounded my judgement on other peoples kids.

I played in competitive soccer leagues for my entire childhood. Now I know why the parents were always so fun! I cant wait for M to start playing soccer!
I side eye all the moms who talk about their baby hitting milestones early or whatever. And about how great and perfect their 4 month old is. Seriously talk to me about what they can do once they are older. I'm not impressed. I don't believe any of it. And I don't think everyone's baby is that cute. Signed, Jaded 2nd time mom
I don't rush my kids to hit milestones, they'll do it on their own.
I'm currently letting dd sit on my kitchen counter eating chocolate chip cookies DH made. She lives on fruits and veggies, so I'm getting her sugared up in hopes of an early nap time.
