What have you purchased so far?

As far as baby related items go what have you purchased if you're buying anything new?
We got rid of pretty much all of DD's infant/newborn things when we moved across the country because we didn't think we'd be having another so soon so we pretty much have to start from scratch lol.

So far we got a cubical organizer and we ordered the crib the other day and it should be here tomorrow. We were going to order the crib and rocker together but IKEA was sold out of the crib I wanted so we went with our backup option which was more expensive than my first pick but I still love it. I've also ordered 7 cloth diapers so far. I'm hoping to pick up a few bedding items and a couple more diapers next week once we find out the gender.

  • Only clothes and the halo swaddles. My BFF is giving us her RnP and swing so that eliminates some of the things we find necessity

  • We have pretty much everything from DD1.
I picked up a few new outfits and a couple matching outfits for DD1 and the new LO. I also bought a blanket that we are basing the nursery off. Our living arrangement is going to change next month and then I will do the nursery.

  • Absolutely nothing. Pgal brain sucks. I am even nervous to be maternity clothes. My clothes are starting to be uncomfortable. If everything goes well at my appt next week I will have to break down and buy at least some pants...

BFP #2 (5/18/13) due 1/26/14. Grow baby grow!
    Its a surprise! Team green!

  • Lol yeah I think I'm just a planner and since we live in a really rural area most things we want we have to order online. I don't want to get to the end and be stressing on if it will all ship in time. Can't wait to find out the gender to buy the first outfit though. :)
  • Nothing new so far.  My father, out of the blue, offered to buy new diaper covers and prefolds for this baby.  I gave our smaller ones to a friend in need and had been planning to purchase new ones, but it is really nice to get to remove that item from our budget for this baby.

  • A few outfits and I picked up a breast pump, couldn't pass up the sale, but other than that nothing. I'm still trying to figure out what I want to do for the nursery and we need to get DS's big boy room set up.

  • Just scored enough newborn and 0-3 outfits to last us the month baby boy will be wearing them, including shoes, socks, and hats. I'm a little less anxious now.

Lol well then I don't feel like I'm the odd one out who has already purchased a crib or anything big. :P
  • I already have all the big items because my older boys have outgrown them, all I really need is the basic supplies like nursing supplies, new pump parts, some gender neutral outfits etc.

  • A rocker for the nursery, a couple of hippo onesies I found at Gap Outlet, some really nice college themed burp cloths that I found half price at a flea market, the pink booties I bought to reveal sex to my DH, those halo sleep sacks from zulily, a hippo baby book, and my mom ordered the fabric for her bedding this week.

  • Nothing yet, but if we find out the baby's sex this morning (at an elective U/S), I'll be picking up a couple of small things this afternoon.

Otherwise nothing. Got confirmation it is definitely a boy... I'll probably buy the crib/dresser in the next couple of weeks.

  • Absolutely nothing! After our u/s on Saturday, I might not be able to resist ordering some cute things online (found the cutest elephant prints on Etsy, which I think will be what we do in the nursery if it's a boy ... possibly if it's girl, too).

  • FTM -- I'm buying things that are on sale...or off Zulily to avoid doing it all at once! We find out the sex of baby on the 21st -- AND we're moving - so both of those have held me back some!

I have gotten a baby carrier w/ infant insert, a few maternity shirts, 1 pair of maternity jeans (going to buy black dress pants today though), a couple different onesie's/sleepers/outfits, and we've picked out the nursery set -- but waiting to order until we buy our new house!

  • I've been handed down a few things from friends (extra Boppy, nursing cover, toys from family that I know I won't need for AGES...) but I wasn't planning to buy anything until after my a/s. If I know my mom is throwing me a big shower, should I wait to get anything until I see what everyone gets us? My family is big on getting moms the big stuff (crib, carrier, stroller, etc) and even though I feel guilty "letting" people get that stuff for me, it's just kind of our tradition. Is that rude? I'm feeling inadequate compared to the other FTMs who have already made so many big purchases! Sigh.

We've bought the crib, changing table, and bedding set. I also found some cute neutral clothes at Target when they were having the baby clearance event.

EDIT: None of these things are set up and all of the clothing is packed away in my hope chest. The crib/changing table are actually at my parents house, and won't be coming back to our house until October-ish.

If that's what your family does, I don't see anything wrong with it.

But if you feel guilty, I don't see anything wrong with buying some things yourself. In our circle, the grandparents to be usually buy the nursery furniture. Though I think we'll probably buy the nursery furniture ourselves (crib, comfy chair to sit in, dresser) and register for everything else.

  • Blackout curtain, another sound machine, another monitor, hangers, a closet organizer, the Boon lawn, twig, and flower for washing and drying parts.

  • One picture on our trip for the nursery, a rug for the nursery, and tonight we are ordering a crib, tomorrow we are checking out a dresser. I already know which bookcase I want too, and the decorations for the nursery. But I need to paint first.

  • My mom bought me a Baby Bjorn and my dad bought me a pair of infant shoes.  DH and I haven't bought anything baby-related ourselves yet.  We just moved so we're trying to get settled before we bring in anything else.

  • I bought some things over the holidays to pile away [I love Amazon holiday sales] - Moby wrap, baby food maker, and something else. Bought an Ergo on Zulily a couple of weeks ago, but that's it. We still have the crib we used for DS, and it's solid - so we'll use that again. I'm waiting to buy bigger things - car seat, clothes, shoes, bottles - until my PgAL brain can settle and I can feel like this is truly real. Getting there.

  • We have all of the big things I really just need to buy girl clothes, blankets, swaddles and decorations for the nursery. My PGAL brain is hard on me but this week I bought curtains for her room and three tops and two bottoms online from Carters.

My mom gave us some things she had from my nephew. So we also have a crib, changing table, high chair, bouncer, pack n play, and jogging stroller.

I've seen these at friends houses but didn't know what they were called. Thanks for this I found them on Amazon! So cute.

  • I honestly still don't feel "pregnant" yet since I can't feel anything moving yet. I hadn't bought anything until this past weekend when I picked up a onesie because I felt like I *Should* buy something.

  • Just some diapers that have been on sale...nursery set is ordered too. :)

  • So glad to see so many other people who haven't bought a thing, I was starting to feel bad!  I think after our a/s next week, I'll be more excited about shopping - and I'll have DH pick up everything from storage so we can start going through it.  I'm a little nervous that so much of it is going to be ruined from sitting in storage.

  • Nothing for #2--we won't know what we'll need until we know if it is a boy or a girl.  However...I saw a really cute girl baby girl outfit at Target and I'm going to go buy it today.  But I'm also going to buy a baby boy outfit to even it out.  Both will stay in my desk drawer at work until after Sept. 13 (so DH doesn't know ;) ) and I'll return one.

  • We have a few clothes and whatnot (most of which have been gifts from my MIL and SIL already!). I've been a bit of a book buying machine... I think it's the hazard of being a pregnant teacher! Yesterday we also got brave, and bought a crib, dresser, change table, and mattress - my PgAL brain is a little freaked out, but we got such a good deal, we couldn't resist!

  • We haven't got anything yet.  We figure we've got an easy 4 months yet (but more likely 5) and there's no rush.  We're doing our research on cribs, strollers etc so we'll probably start buying things in a couple of months.
  • Nothing of import, but I did get this adorable vest, which I think can work boy or girl, on Wednesday. DH's crazy summer schedule ends TOMORROW (hip hip hooray!!!!!), and we'll have some time to actually talk these things through. He has said he'll take on the stroller and car seat purchases which completely overwhelm me, so I'm going to try to let him do that (When we first started dating, 13 years ago, he was so incredibly terribly cheap. It is the one thing that I tried, and mostly succeeded, to change about him. I think I might have a little PTSD still, but I know he won't cheap out on the important things!)

  • We've only bought a few small things. I bought some hangers for the nursery (10 pack for $1!), a couple of books. My mom bought a little stuffed monkey, and an adorable little robe when she was out of town last week. Our Sears has a really good sale on pack and plays right now, and my mom offered to buy me one, but I panicked a little so we didn't buy it yet. I have been doing a lot of online "window" shopping and researching though!

I'm in the same boat as you. DH has looked at some things, but I am too nervous to. We will probably start after our A/S if everything looks ok.
  • I bought an ergo. But I bought that to use with my daughter right now too. So nothing really for new baby yet. I did pick up a new maternity sweater and a pair of shorts.
  • We are hoping to move within the next month; we are just waiting on our paperwork to finish up.  I refuse to buy/get anything big until we are actually in our new house and I can do some measuring and such.  I have bought a few books to read and a onesie (Father's Day gift from baby to my husband).  In the meantime, I am happily bookmarking and wish listing items I like online.  I can't wait to actually get started!
