My UO: I think it's irresponsible to drink during the 2 WW. If you think there's a chance you might be pregnant, why do you need to get all tanked up? If it turns out it's negative, you've got a solid month to drink it up before you might be there again, I know the risk is slight, but there is so much rapid development during those early weeks. It just doesn't seem worth the risk to me.
Having a drink or 2 =/= getting tanked. And no, if it is negative, you have 2 weeks to drink before you hit the 2ww again in which you feel drinking is a no-no (give or take, obviously).
My UO- I don't like you. There is something about you that is extremely abrasive and you feel like a troll.
I don't think that's really an UO
Really? I didn't realize folks even knew who I was, much less had developed feelings of negativity for me. : (
I don't have any feelings of negativity towards you. I don't agree with your UO today but that's about it.
Now I am just being totally curious, so correct me if I am wrong, but would the alcohol have some effect on the implantation itself? Again, I have no idea, but it's something I have often wondered to myself when deciding whether I should be drinking or not.
It's a miracle countries that do all those things you "shouldn't" do during pregnancy and 2WW stay populated. You know, like drinking, eating Sushi, etc
My mother occasionally drank before she knew she was pregnant with me, she was 20 weeks when she found out, and I turned out okay.
Yeah totally. I mean that is what I think to myself too like, all those years women drank throughout their entire pregnancy and most babies ended up totally fine. I'm just paranoid by nature and tend to jump to worst possible conclusions. :P

I do not Zumba because I cannot keep up and the music usually isn't fast enough. I can't keep a beat, so I need super fast music so it's not obvious that I'm marching to the beat of a different drummer. Also, I need to spread out. I take up my whole living room when I dance because I throw in ballet moves. Like this:
My very popular opinion - greengirl needs to figure out how implantation and cycles work. Not drinking during the 2WW because you're worried about a fetus is like wearing sunglasses at night because you don't want the sun in your eyes in the morning.

Lol that is too funny! Weird though the music at my Zumba class is usually super fast!
I think it is stupid to spend thousands of dollars to bury your pet in the pet section of a cemetery. I absolutely adore my cats, but I can't fathom spending that kind of money when you can do it yourself (ie bury them in the backyard, use a rock of some sort of a marker or plant a tree in their memory).

Some pet insurance companies cover burials/cremation, so I can see why some pet owners might do that. I think it's the funniest when pets get "alternative therapies" like accupuncture or hydrotherapy. Not saying it's not effective, just that it's weird to think about.

I understand what you are saying, but lots of people rent and do not have a place that they could bury their animal. Also, I think that in some places it is even illegal to do so!

I have a preference to shave my pits, legs and hoo hoo, but it angers me to no end that men and women think other women are gross and disgusting for not shaving. I have female friends that don't and it's not a big deal. It's normal. Its our bodies.
Women didn't start shaving until razor companies starting marketing to them. The only reason we shave is because razor companies told us we weren't feminine unless we did, and that's BS.
Therefore, I'm not shaving my armpits right now. If one person says I'm gross, I'm going to ream them out. I'm trying to teach my DD body positivity and I can't do that if I'm constantly bowing down to societies absurd female beauty standards.
The legs and hoo hoo will still be shaved. I'm not getting TOO ahead of myself here.
::steps off feminist soapbox::
Totally agree! When me and DH first started dating I think I shaved my girly bits like once before I realized it SUCKED when it started to come back. Never again!
Agreed. I will trim, and I'll shave the bikini area for actual bikini purposes, but I don't like shaving it all off. Also, when I was in college I went about 2 years without shaving my legs at all. I was working at a summer camp in the summer where it was considered acceptable (if somewhat untraditional) to no shave and I wore pants most of the rest of the year. It was great! Nowadays I shave year round, but it was really nice to not worry about.

I agree except in the town I live in it is illegal to bury an animal in your yard. My puppy died and I was very attached so I had him privately cremated and I have his urn on my fireplace. I keep things creepy.
All my 'pocket' pets are buried in my Dad's yard. I feel sorry for whoever lives in that house after him and does some major outdoor work. Because you'll be digging up a menagerie of parakeets, hamsters, guinea pigs, some sparrows and maybe a couple hermit crabs.
My dog and cat I had growing up are in urns in my curio cabinet. We have a pet cemetery here, but I keep thinking of the Stephen King movie...

I'd do cremation before burial. But, I'm not a fan of human burials either. Cemeteries take up space.
I'm 100% with KMM on this. I'm not a fan of human burials. It takes up land unnecessarily & costs too much. H & I both plan on being cremated. Our pets will have the same.

My mother drank at least one drink a day through both her pregnancies. My brother and I turned out fine. Hooray for the 70's, when you could smoke and drink and not be judged!
I'm being facetious, but seriously. Why is it when you become pregnant/a parent, what you do is everybody's damn business?
I know, I didn't mean to imply that you are - but even if someone were to catch you smirking/laughing/smiling that could be a real hit to someone's self esteem.
I feel graceful during Zumba, but I know I'm not.
RE: being able to laugh at yourself... I can laugh at myself plenty but this above is another reason besides my sucky coordination that I would not do Zumba. Some women are very Judgey McJudgerson and I don't like that feeling of being looked at/made fun of about dancing. I don't know why, something must have happened to me as a child that made me extremely self conscious about dancing. But there you go.

I had never even been to a service in a cemetery before this past December, for one of my husband's aunts. Everyone who has passed in my family has been cremated. I will choose the same.
My mother occasionally drank before she knew she was pregnant with me, she was 20 weeks when she found out, and I turned out okay.
But you can't use this logic because we have new knowledge. My mom smoked during my pregnancy, doesn't mean I'm lighting up. I never wore a seat belt/used a car seat as a child, but I'm definitely not doing that today! Heck, my 3 year old is still rear facing because he's so tiny!
I don't think that abortion should be so readily available that it is used as a form of birth control. I think providing ACTUAL birth control beforehand is a better solution, to anyone who wants it, no matter what their income. And EDUCATION, for crying out loud. (I am no longer on the make abortion illegal boat though, which I used to be. I do think a woman should have a right to terminate a pregnancy. A man has a choice of whether to support his child or not so I don't see why a woman shouldn't either.)

Aww, so sorry about your puppy. No I totally get why you might want them cremated...most vets do it. I personally do not care for cremation, but I'm sure many people don't care for burial and prefer cremation. Plus, you cannot do that yourself. I just don't get why someone would pay a lot of money for burial in a cemetery if you have the abilities (ie your own property) to bury them yourself.
I've always been curious about the illegal thing. I have no idea if it's illegal in my city, but how would anyone know if you buried your pet?

I have another one....I actually really like Rob Pattinson, and I like him in Twilight (hangs head in shame), but I absolutely hate him for the role of Christian Grey. I really hope there isn't a lot of truth to the rumor that he is being considered. It irks me that they would consider casting him because he is just a recent popular leading man, and not because he would actually be right for the part. I'm already afraid the movie is going to suck, and I know it will suck that much more if he gets the part.

LIES! LIES I SAY!!!
I am a very un-coordinated person who despises working out with or around other people, so yeah, I was that awkward girl tripping over herself in the back spinning in the wrong direction. Not fun. I'll just stick to running. By myself.
Zumba sucks! At my gym you can watch them through the window, and they all look silly!
I am an instructor...although, NO really. Zumba is not for everyone. But, it also depends on instructors since they are all different. I tend to be more in line with the more fitness type over dancy type. There are some instructors that I can't follow a flucking thing they are doing.

I'd like to find the girl using abortion as birth control, because she's probably pretty flucking rich.
My abortion in 2004 cost me almost $500. My m/c will probably cost just as much with my medical bills from it. Physically, both were quite painful and I needed prescription painkillers for them.
FWIW, my abortion was d/t a failure of birth control.

False. A man who wants nothing to do with his child can still be made to pay support.

FWIW, have firsthand seen lots of men avoid paying child support. Usually through not getting a damn job. Or getting a job where he is paid under the table. Or just by disappearing.
2. I thought the point of the UO post was to "out" yourself of statements you believe that you knew others would disagree, ie "stir up ***." You guys have been complaining for weeks about how we never have good discussions anymore, you felt we'd discussed all of the controversial subjects. I knew I had a truly UO to share.
3. Implantation occurs during the 2WW, rendering you pregnant, etc, etc. I don't want to drink during that time. I think it's as good a time as any to stop just in case you are pregnant.
4. Yes, I like to drink. I drank a lot in college, not much since I've become a parent. When you have to be up and function early, not so enjoyable any longer! : ) Plus, I'm cheaper now! I see that bar tab come out and I go- whoa!
5. Not a troll, I introduced myself here several weeks ago. I've tried to comment where I have input to share. I've not been struggling a long time to get pregnant, I've never utilized any kind of assistance to get pregnant, so some posts I don't have anything to share.
I dislike maternity pictures. Not anyone who does them, photographers who do them, etc. Maybe it's because I just looked like a fatass who ate a dozen of Krispy Kremes every day until I was around 31 weeks last time. DH and I had a hard enough time "posing" for engagement and wedding pictures. I have a feeling I would think we looked ridiculous. I'm also terrible about getting prints made. I do however love newborn and children photography.

So it's ok because they are criminals? (They are evading a court order, so that is the proper term.)
And comparing abortion to raising a child or not is where I get off that boat because you are comparing apples and oranges and it's already pissing me off that you even went there.
I lied. Abortion is not a way for a woman to get out of supporting a child. What in the ever loving f'uck would possess you to say that?
OBV I don't think it's okay for a man to flake out his kid. I think they are worthless pieces of sh!t. But it DOES happen and they leave mothers or expectant mothers high and dry.
What I'm saying is, if a woman gets pregnant and has a boyfriend or significant whatever who she thinks is going to help her, then he leaves, I think she has the right to be afraid that she won't be able to take care of the child on her own or provide a good life for the child and choose to do whatever is best for her. Not saying they are doing it to get out of raising a child (though I'm sure some do) but I don't blame a woman one bit if she thinks she will not be able to do it on her own, or doesn't want to. I don't see how this is a radical viewpoint. Isn't that what a woman's right to choose is about?
I don't think that all women take abortion lightly. I wouldn't. I don't think I would have one but that's beside the point. But maybe it's just because of where I come from. There was a lot of teen pregnancy and yes, there were girls around me who had multiple abortions. Forgive me but I would think that after having to make that very difficult decision once, you wouldn't want to do it again and would take necessary precautions so that you didn't. That is why I said some use it as a form of birth control. And like I said, if BC was easier to get in all forms and/or cheaper, and women were more educated about it from the time they got their periods, this COULD make the need for abortions because of accidental pregnancy go down in general.

Agreed 100 percent. I find most maternity pictures to be tacky and awkward. Especially the nearly naked ones. I don't think any child would grow up and want to see pictures of their mother wearing nothing but a sheer scarf draped over their lady parts.

With the exception of the bolded part because those women are exceptions not the rule, I'm pretty sure about 98% of the US population agrees with you.
I have no personal experience, but I think the vast majority of abortions are extremely painful, both physically and emotionally, and are not taken nearly as lightly as you are insinuating. There are, of course, exceptions, but I think in this case they are EXTREMELY rare.

They are. It's like how people will claim everyone on welfare has new cars and cell phones and is abusing the system. No, those people are the exceptions and far from the rule. But let's make it more difficult for those that truly need it because a handful of people abuse it.
Where I was from, when I was younger, those cases (abortion) were not the exception to the rule. That is why I said it the way I did. That has been my experience with people I know having abortions.
GM, on your other post, I get what you're saying, but I still stand by my view that if a man can choose whether or not he supports his child that he helped create, then a woman can also have the right to choose whether or not she carries a child and supports it the rest of its life. Basically I support a woman's right to choose. That's it. If you don't like the way I state my reasoning, then sorry. I would think that a supporter of women's rights would be glad that I support them as well. I still think that providing birth control and education will lessen the need for aborting accidental pregnancies- to me, this is a more crucial part of the whole situation.

This and this. I'm a perfect example. I've had an abortion. It was something that was physically painful to go through, especially because I had to do it alone and pay for it when I had NO money. It's the same pain as a m/c. I ended up being evicted because I got behind on my rent because of it.
I've been on 'welfare', and I never had a fancy phone and a fancy car. I still had a house phone in like, 2003. With an answering machine, LOLLLLL.
It's quite insulting that people who've NEVER had to go through life w/those types of experiences think we're having all the abortions and free gub'ment stuff on purpose.

I had an old friend from HS that treated abortion like birth control. It's disgusting and a large part of the reason why she's now an 'old' friend, but I still don't agree with limiting access to abortions within the first trimester. Just because one person has a horrible relationship with it, doesn't mean that choices should be limited for anyone else. For most people, it's an extremely tough and devastating choice, and making it more difficult to get one just makes it that much more difficult for women make the choice that's right for them.

I never truly believe anyone that says they "know" multiple women who have "used abortion as birth control". Not understanding how birth control or your body works is not the same as "I'm just going to have sex and if I get pregnant, I'll just have an abortion... or several."
You sound like you truly believe there are a lot of women who think getting multiple abortions is easier than just using d*** birth control in the first place. There are many factors (both legitimate and lame) that prevent every single teenager AND adult from using birth control effectively every single time. It's disgusting to perpetuate falsehoods like this, but you've likely convinced yourself it's true.

Re: UO
I don't have any feelings of negativity towards you. I don't agree with your UO today but that's about it.

RE: being able to laugh at yourself... I can laugh at myself plenty but this above is another reason besides my sucky coordination that I would not do Zumba. Some women are very Judgey McJudgerson and I don't like that feeling of being looked at/made fun of about dancing. I don't know why, something must have happened to me as a child that made me extremely self conscious about dancing. But there you go.
I had never even been to a service in a cemetery before this past December, for one of my husband's aunts. Everyone who has passed in my family has been cremated. I will choose the same.
I guess I will throw a UO out there.

We had our first cat cremated and she is in an urn in our home too.

Unfortunately I feel like only a small amount of people agree with me where I live. Guess I failed at UO today :-p
FWIW, have firsthand seen lots of men avoid paying child support. Usually through not getting a damn job. Or getting a job where he is paid under the table. Or just by disappearing.
1. I know what plan B is.
Agreed 100 percent. I find most maternity pictures to be tacky and awkward. Especially the nearly naked ones. I don't think any child would grow up and want to see pictures of their mother wearing nothing but a sheer scarf draped over their lady parts.

I have no personal experience, but I think the vast majority of abortions are extremely painful, both physically and emotionally, and are not taken nearly as lightly as you are insinuating. There are, of course, exceptions, but I think in this case they are EXTREMELY rare.

I don't support gay marriage.
