This is probably more for second or third time moms...with your first baby how much caffiene did you drink and do you notice anything with your baby? I have a cup of coffee every morning, and maybe once or twice a week ill have a soda in the afternoon. Do you think I'm causing harm and should stop? Or did you do the same thing and everything is fine?
Re: What is your caffiene intake?

This is definitely a question for your doctor.
My doctor is totally fine if I keep my caffeine intake under 200mg per day. Some days (where I am dog tired or have continuous headaches) I will get close to that amount where as other days I may have a 12oz coke (34mg)
Here is an medical article.

It is definitely a personal choice and a discussion between you and your doctor especially since we do not know any medical standings on your pregnancy or your health.

This. Minus the mocha. I've never been a coffee person, so that helps. My sister drank however much coffee she wanted during all 3 of her pregnancies, and all her babies were pretty fussy, and as toddlers or small children they are NUTS. They never sit still. However, this could just be because my sister and her husband are both really hyperactive. (I'm really hoping for/looking forward to a chill, low-key kid like me and DH.)
Keep it to what you're doing and you (and baby) will be fine. One cup of coffee and soda a day isn't that much.
You're fine! With DS, I didn't drink any at all, but I was always told up to 200mg per day is fine. With this baby, I don't mind have a Pepsi every once in awhile, sometimes a few a day depending on how rough the day is going.
As long as you aren't gulping down red bulls or something, you'll be fine.

With DD, I avoided caffeine entirely in the first trimester and after that had a cup or two of coffee a few times a week. I rarely had any soda. I didn't notice any effects whatsoever with her.
This pregnancy, I've been having one cup of coffee a day. It's the equivalent of about 150 mg. of caffeine. If I'm going to have a soda or other high caffeine beverage/food, I don't have my morning coffee that day.
I had close to none with my son. With my daughter though, I worked at Starbucks while putting myself through nursing school during the beginning part of pregnancy so lets just say I had PLENTY of caffeine when pregnant with her. Probably well over the recommended amount.
My daughter is actually the one that is in AP classes and excels at sports. They both have hyperative tendencies but that's because of me and genetics ( I have so many ppl that jokingly say I have ADHD).
This time around we had trouble conceiving so I had decreased caffeine greatly because I had read that fertilty docs recommended less than 50 mgs per day and we were about to start IVF when we got pregnant. On average I consume maybe 25 mgs per day with decaf coffee and chocolate. I plan to up it a few days a week though since I start 12 hours shifts tomorrow.

I drink 1 cup of coffee a day and that is it. If I don't I get headaches. My doctor said it was ok to drink up to 2 cups of coffee a day.

My doctor said I should keep it under 200 mg, not 300.
I have a frappuccino from Starbuck's once a week, and I have had soda two or three times. I try really hard not to have too much, but occasionally I just have to!

I drank Mt. Dew frequently with my DS 6 yrs ago. Young and uninformed at the time. My SIL drank NO caffeine at all with either of her DDs. We are constantly complimented on how polite and well behaved our DS is. My nieces are complete terrors that no one can stand to be around. It's how they are raised. Not what mom drank. I keep my intake below 300mg but Im honestly not worried.
With DS, I didn't drink ANY caffeine. I wouldnt take zofran no matter how sick i was...Not even a tylenol for headache. He's a normal 3.5 year old boy= he's crazy! He's perfect but darn...he has a lot of energy. He was the worst baby never slept.
With this one, I'm not stressing. I drink diet soda once in a while because it calms my stomach. I take Zofran. The ultrasound only showed one head...so, so far, so good
Meh. To each their own. Many women don't drink it at all, but most doctors will say that anything from 200mg-300mg in a day is completely fine.
I honestly didn't monitor my intake much, because the main drink I have is tea. Occasionally I'd drink a coffee or soda if I wanted one, but I honestly didn't monitor the intake I had much.
(Almost) Anything in moderation.
