  • Maggie watches Sesame Street and really likes it.  We justify it by the knowledge it is "educational" TV.

I let anyone touch her, and I don't make them wash their hands.  The dog licks her, we have dog hair all over our house and she's fine.

I don't remember the last time we cleaned our house.

I let anyone touch DD.  They can hold her, kiss her, touch her hands, whatever.

And I don't make them wash their hands.

Also, I get giddy when my posts get starred.

And how do you star the posts? I've always wondered what the red stars mean and I've been too lazy to ask this too.

Ditto on the touching. My neighbor lady is super nice and we talk over the fence. Sometimes I let her grab DD from me and hold her on her side of the yard. Sometimes I think, wow, she could just run off and I couldn't get to her!

My SIL made food with pot in it. MIL accidently ate some and tripped out for like 3 hours. I took that opportunity to tell Dh that I didnt want Kam left in her care at her house because what if Kam ate food laced with pot. Im glad someone screwed up major in the house because now I have an actual reason not to leave Kam in her care.

    haha that's awesome!

Now though i want all boys because Louie is so amazing, and gender preference is stupid. But when you are a FTM and dont know what to expect i think its normal to be hoping for a certain gender.

That is normal, I agree but I guess I really mean the people who are annoyingly vocal about it and make it seem like the other sex (that they don't prefer to have) is not as great.  Then I wish them the opposite so they can learn to just be happy with what they get.

heck, last Sunday, I let homeless friends at our church hold the babies. They didn't die of germs or strangers.

My confession: despite both of us being fairly opposed to bed sharing, it happens on rough nights. Both babies have stuffy noses, and last night Etta ended up in bed with hubby and I was on the nursery futon with Claire. Related: I am now sore as heck.

  • R recently quit his job to go back to school. While this will be awesome for us in the long run, I can't help but miss the traveling his job used to require. I honestly think it was good for us to have that time away from each other occasionally. Plus, my mom or sister would offer to come spend the night here and there while he was gone, and I miss that. A lot.

Im going to the casino tonight for a bachelorette party and staying overnight.  I cant wait to get $hitfaced drunkee with huge group of girlfriends and not have to worry about being a mom for one night!

Have fun!! We are going to a wedding next Saturday and L is staying with my mom so I plan to get drizzunk. And I rented a Halston gown to wear. I'm so freaking excited.

  • My husband and I don't sleep in the same room most of the time since the baby. He snores so loudly, it makes me really angry to try to sleep next to him. Even with earplugs in I can hear it.

When a situation presents itself where we will have to share a room (aka his Mother stays over or this weekend we have a wedding and will have to stay in one room). It makes me anxious thinking about how I will get even less/worse sleep than usual.

I am embarassed to admit this to people IRL I'm not sure why. We have a great marriage in general (though I do sometimes speak to him disrespectfully and sometimes take a bit too long in fetching his sandwiches)

I actually have one this week!! I still put DD in the top part of the grocery cart when shopping.

I do this too and feel zero guilt.  I think most of the reasons people say to not do it are bs.  It's going to topple over??  The carts I use at my grocer are ultra heavy and sturdy.  I'm doubtful that I could topple it if I took a good run at it. And the top basket is so large it can actually accommodate the entire carrier. We're not talking about the tin can-esque carts they had when we were kids.

I used to do it until one day the carseat almost jumped out of the top.  If my H hadn't been next to her I don't know what would have happened.

  • I don't think mine are super flamey but whatever

If my last name was Pickles I would totally name my child Dylan and call him Dyl. Yes, we've been watching Rugrats in the mornings.

I also love the name Ezra. But my husband would probably never go for it. Side note, Ezra Miller is foxy moxy.

When people come to my house that I don't recognize I get up, close the blinds, make sure the door is dead bolted, and ignore. Sometimes they see me through the window before I close the blinds but I don't care. I have a baby in here and a nutso Boston terrier that is going to try to run out of the house if I open the door.

Remember that cat I was going to rescue forever ago? My husband has now decided that a cat is too much responsibility and if we want to TTC next year we shouldn't get one. I get that..kinda. But I also hope that the neighbor's cat that has been living under our back deck is pregnant and leaves behind some kittens. If one was at our house already he would never be able to say no to it.

Lol, I had a George W. countdown to last day in office keychain. :)

my confession is that I am being a terrible mom today. It is our last day of "summer vacation" (Kindergarten here does split first days, so half the kids go Thursday, half Friday, then all on Monday, so DS1 is home today). DH starts traveling internationally on Monday for basically the rest of the month and hasn't gotten home before 11:30 PM the last 3 nights (which of course then wakes me up and adds to my exhaustion). DS2's naps are whack a doo lately. So, I just let DS1 watch 3 Ninjago episodes in a row and also just let DS2 cry for 6 minutes after he woke from nap #1 too early. I think he is back asleep. Sorry, but I just need to sit for a while and not deal with children. I'll be a better mom this afternoon.

  • I have seen two carriers fall off carts. I'm not sure about toppling but that seems kind of unrealistic but since I've witnessed the actual carrier fall twice I wouldn't dare put it on top of the cart. The manual for my car seat also states not to put it ontop of a grocery cart among other things. I listen to the warnings because they are there for a reason. I am pretty sure most manuals state this and either people don't read them or they don't care.

My confession is we are on a serious budget since we are building a house and I bought a bunch of clothes yesterday and only told H about half the stuff. I feel really guilty for some reason whereas I normally would not.

There is a mouth guard that sort of pulls the lower jaw forward to open the airway like you do in CPR. My hubby got one and it really helped his snoring. I don't think you should be embarrassed. A shared marriage bed is a fairly modern invention. I used to sleep in the guest room a lot because of the snoring. I say being well rested makes for happier partners and a better marriage than one resenting the other for snoring and keeping her up.

Thank you for posting this!  I needed to see that other mom's houses look like mine.  I had a major b!tch fit last night b/c our house looks like a tornado came through every room!  DH just laughed and said it doesn't matter.

  • 1-I am disappointed that the FFFC started so early today and is already three pages long and I am just now posting.  I am trying to be more active on the board because I like the friendship I see among everyone and want to be a part of it but feel like I just can't make it happen.  I thought if I actually was able to make it to the FFFC and UOs when they started it would be a good start.

2-I ordered a Petunia Pickle Bottom diaper bag off of Amazon the other day even though they're ridiculously overpriced, we can't afford it, and we don't need another diaper bag/purse right now (though I did get it for nearly half price).

3-My boss is on vacation this week and thus I do not plan on being that productive today.  Nor have I been even close to productive earlier in the week.

4-DH was sighing loudly early this morning in bed.  I knew it probably meant that I was snoring and bothering him and I should roll over.  I chose not to roll over because I knew he would get up and move to the couch and I could settle in comfortably in the middle of the bed.

Me too on the GWB countdown, although mine was a bumper sticker pinned to my cubicle wall (I worked in Europe at the time) . It prevented people from lining up whenever he made a speech to ask me what the deal was with my president.

It annoys the crap out of me that everyone is so rude about Obama.  He is the president, he deserves respect as that weather you like him or not.  I think the people bashing him saying that they are patriotic are actually being the most unpatriotic jackasses.
