  • I confess that I gave up sweets entirely on Aug 2 and have since replaced my sweet treats with booze.

  • Seriously? It is 2 am! I'm only up because i have a baby still going through the 4 month wakeful!

The west coasters don't even stand a chance with this thread.

  • I've got a good one.  The other day I forgot DS1's school hat (he's not allowed to play outside without it) and ran to school to drop it off while DS2 was napping at home in bed.  The school is about 50 metres from our front door, and I did tell my elderly next-door neighbour who was gardening outside.  But, the kid was unattended in my house.  And I wasn't there.

    5 am here.

  • I've recently been bringing dd in bed feeding her for her many motn feedings instead of getting up like I used to. I thought that I hadn't been falling asleep, but more or less snoozing because that's what I had been able to recall.

I just woke up with her in bed and I have no idea how she got there. Also, I now realize how I had lost my cell phone, which I have attempted to use to stay awake, a couple times behind me. I believe it's because I had at one time been facing the opposite way and I hadn't remembered the first feeding. My matress is a super soft pillow top. Motn feeding fail. I guess it's back to waking up and migrating to another room to feed. I was feeling more rested by not actually getting up. Now I know why. It's darn tiring to have a baby wake up multiple times through the night and then get up for work every day. Weekends are great.

But us working moms up for motn feedings and people living in Austalia actually do have a chance.

And Do Jo, as a daughter of an alcoholic, be careful with that. Your statement is like nails on a chalkboard to me If that becomes more of a thing, your lo will be much better off with you eating sweets.

I do this too and feel zero guilt.  I think most of the reasons people say to not do it are bs.  It's going to topple over??  The carts I use at my grocer are ultra heavy and sturdy.  I'm doubtful that I could topple it if I took a good run at it. And the top basket is so large it can actually accommodate the entire carrier. We're not talking about the tin can-esque carts they had when we were kids.

  • I used to be vegan but started eating dairy again when I was pregnant. (I am still vegetarian though.) I needed enzymes to help my body learn to digest those proteins again. I know I will never be able to chug a shake, but the enzymes really helped, and I don't need to chug shakes anyways. I gradually tapered the enzymes off and was doing ok with small amounts of dairy without them. Still with me?

Last night I had alfredo pasta for dinner. Stupid me! My tummy hurts, and I was crop dusting all night and looks like I will be crop dusting this morning as well. I thought this might happen, but ate it anyways,

Also, if anybody remembers, I was a MPI mama. My pedi said sometimes they grow out of it and I could try to reintroduce it to my diet at 3 months. I did and she seemed ok. Let's see if she is crop dusting all day, too.

  • I hate the color red.

Here?s why: We moved when I was 4 and I hated my new babysitter. She had a daughter who was a year older than me and she got to do everything I wanted to do like watch Sesame Street in the living room while eating her lunch (I had to eat at the table). Her favorite color was red and I?ve hated it ever since.

  • I brought DS into bed last night so I could watch the President's speech. He may have fallen asleep in his room but I was lazy and brought him in. I typically lay with him until he falls asleep, if I don't he's awake at 3:30 and runs into our room.

My SIL made food with pot in it. MIL accidently ate some and tripped out for like 3 hours. I took that opportunity to tell Dh that I didnt want Kam left in her care at her house because what if Kam ate food laced with pot. Im glad someone screwed up major in the house because now I have an actual reason not to leave Kam in her care.

Sorry but I totally flame this.

Two weeks ago I was at the supermarket without Ari shopping and watched as a stock boy knocked into a car with a infant seat in the top and saw the seat come falling down. Thank god the baby is ok but seriously... it is not safe at all.

People who say not to do this are flucking idiots. I'm not going to OD my kiddo and I'm not taking the chance that they'll scream the entire way. Mine is that we bedshare and there is stuff all over the bed. He sleeps on a pillow in my arms covered with a sheet and occasionally I cover with a quilt.
i wish i could be joking but my dad is the music teacher at a church so he owuld be mad. we had sex, all the time how bad i know but we dont want to wait and he said GREAT OH KAY! and I was really feeling the wets? down there- too embarsed to say- but he acted like man.
  • We haven't started any solids or purees, just EBF. DS is getting cranky and bored sitting in his highchair at the dinner table, and we're tired of trying to eat with a wiggleworm on our laps. Yesterday at dinner I gave him big slices of cucumber and apple to suck/gnaw on and he was so happy about it.

(Probably only a confession if you're strict on no BLW before 6 months. DS is 5 months.)

I tried to take DS into a liquor store to get a bottle of wine when he was an itty bitty newborn. Turns out, that's illegal here in Oklahoma. They're serious about no one under the age of 21. I was so embarrassed and hormonal, I teared up when the employee firmly told me I couldn't bring him in.

I don't even leave my grocery list unattended in the cart.  If it starts to fly away, I am always able to catch it.  I have faith that I'd be able to get a hand on a falling infant seat.

lol...sorry, I didn't really make a formal announcement about it - just mentioned it here and there.  E's family lives in Belfast (and Melbourne, AU!!!) and we usually try to visit at least 1-2 times a year.   He and the kids are out food shopping with MIL and I am supposed to be napping...

I see so many people do ths and it makes me cringe. Yes, most likely nothing will happen, but you really never know. I always want to say something to people who do this, but I know it wouldn't be well received, so I just go on my merry way.

I wouldn't say unattended. The cart was in between the dairy case and a middle of the aisle display. The mom was looking in the dairy cart and the stock boy was putting this in the middle display. Something he carried fell and when he bent down he almost fell into the cart and the infant seat just fell over.

The mom turned around in a split second to get the seat and scream but honestly it all happened in less than 15 seconds.

  • We came back from vacation and Edie is now a TV zombie.  This entire week, she came home, plopped on the couch, and watch TV for about 90 minutes straight.  Zombified.

I feel kinda weird about this.  But, as that's the time that I have to cook dinner/do laundry/etc, I don't know what I can do to "improve" the situation.  Or if it's even something that needs to be "improved".

4 to 5:30 is Hazel's meltdown time so she watches Arthur, Wordgirl and Wild Kratts so I can take care of Owen's extreme eating needs. Dixee I'm jealous that you don't have to take them grocery shopping. I almost always have to take them.
