Blood in stool after 5 weeks on neocate....Help

Hi,  I am physically sick to my stomach....My little one just turned 4 months old and was put on alimentum which didnt work and then 5 weeks ago on neocate........Did beautifully on neocate and then today in her bowel movement there was a little spot of red stringy blood........I am waiting for a call from the pedi........I am panicking..........What is next    I thought neocate was the cure-all....Please if you know anything about this let me know.......

I am at my wit's end......Scared of what will happen next.....I dont think there is anything else.......

    no     no diaper rash......gaining weight, eating well, playing and sleeping through the night......it was just that no blood for 5 weeks and today saw some  and am afraid the neocate isnt working......seeing Dr. on Thursday......Thank you for your reply

    These are all good things.  It could just be a fluke.  Sometimes when they're teething the excess saliva irritates their bowels--that can cause a little bit of blood in the stool.  Try not to stress too much.

    My LO is has been on Neocate for about 10 mos now and has done wonderfully and is now on the Neocate Jr. Call Neocate and speak to the nutrition specialist but also your dr. Neocate is great when you call them. See what they say bc they know the product and your dr & you know your child so between all of you, you can get to the bottom of it.

    Dont stress over it. Keep an eye on how much blood do you see. Since he is gaining weight and a happy baby its all fine. My dr even let me bf my little guy with a few strings in his blood, as long as he was gaining weight and healthy and not a lot of blood. We are on alimentum now.

    As others mentioned, it could all be fine (especially since baby is happy).  But if need be, there are other formulas you can go to with even more broken down proteins.  Hopefully you can stay on neocate because the Rx formulas are $$ (if your insurance won't cover).
