Not trying, but not preventing 3 months....actively trying, 1 month. It was a total of 4 months. I had some girly issues since I went through puberty so we thought it would take longer. God had other happy plans for us.
Married since 3/20/2010
Expecting Baby #1 on 6/9/2012
Our first cycle, sorry. To be fair, I had been temping/charting for 6 months before actively TTC. I also got very lucky on my BFP cycle by catching my ovulation date with OPKs and reliable CM.
A little over a year. Since about Sept 2010. Ironically, I was supposed to be scheduled for an IUI later this month when my period was supposed to show up.
I got pregnant on the first cycle. Honestly, I think it took me less time because I was on no birth control prior so I didn't have to wait as many cycles as some ladies. Don't give up hope. Everyone is different and there are lots of options these days if things don't naturally happen! Good luck!
Don't give up hope. It really isn't as easy as people make it sound. Having all the fertility tests done to me and DH, having a course of action if we didn't get PG naturally and knowing several people who have had fertility issues, IVF cycles etc. I find it amazing people actually get pregnant in a bedroom at all! Lol
Don't worry and don't stress too much. I did that too. Then the one month I was sure AF was coming (I already had wine and junk food on hand lol) there was my BFP! Good luck and good thoughts to you!
3rd Anniversary: "Hon, I think we should start trying in a year. Be ready."
4th Anniverary (9/1): "Alright, let's do this." Quit bc.
9/15: What I learned later was implantation bleeding
9/21: No AF. BFP. "BABE! We're totally pregnant!" - shouted from toilet as test immediately turned. lol
Freakishly lucky, and that isn't lost on us. We think that God probably wanted us to try earlier, but we thought we had more important things to tend to. lol.
A little over a year with #1, 3 cycles with #2. I have a short LP.
Have you read Taking Charge Of Your Fertility by Toni Weschler? They have an online community that was great while TTC #1. It's been a little slow lately.
A month for my first pregnancy (which didn't complete), and then about three months for the second pregnancy. I feel very lucky in that respect. I was flipping out trying to get pregnant after a miscarriage.
July 3rd, 2012 ~ Hang in there sweetheart, we can't wait to meet you!
We spent about 7 months not trying, not preventing and another 7 months actively trying, temping and using opks. We found out we were dealing with mfi and were told our chances of getting pregnant on our own were not good, probably around 5 percent. My husband started taking fertility blend and 3 months later I found out I was pregnant.
4 months... but we were extremely lucky! I hadn't had a cycle since June so when I got a positive in October we must have just had really great timing. My cycles have always been weird so tracking and temping was not used for us. I should say that we were just not preventing pregnancy more so than trying. It is a whole complicated longs story here... but bottom line is that we were married in May and decided we wanted a baby in June so we stopped using protection. I have not been on BC for 2 years now though.
10 cycles. We already started seeing an RE and were told we had a 5% or less chance of conceiving in a 2 year period. That same day I got a BFP. It was seriously the one month I was not counting the days from ovulation to AF, simply because we had a freakish storm and didn't have power during the week leading to AF. Have hope, and relax. I started going crazy with not using any lube, putting my legs up after, and all the other "tricks." The month it happened, I wasn't worried about any of those things! I do recommend using OPKs if you are not charting or anything, but do not have intercourse right away, as it only indicates pending ovulation. Try for the next day after the positive.
This is my first pregnancy. After a year TTC we had a work up at the RE- I had been charting and ovulated fine, my hormone levels were fine, and my husband was fine.
The RE started us on Letrazole- we were supposed to try for three cycles before moving on to IUI but I conceived on the first cycle. Now I'm just hoping for the little one to stay.
I definitely agree with folks above who advise charting. Also get a workup done- my anxiety level dropped a lot once I was seeing an RE and I knew I was on the road to being treated.
We had been actively trying to conceive for 2 cycles, but I had gone off the pill 2 cycles before that. DH travels alot for his job and the month we conceived he was out of the country for 2 weeks, right when I thought I would be ovulating. Turns out I ovulate late because he came home and that did the trick!
To all you ladies who tried for so long I cant imagine what you must have been going through! I was already worried when it didn't happen the first month. lol
I stopped birth control pills in March 2010 and started charting to avoid. We started trying to conceive in August 2010 while charting and using OPKs. We had some testing done after about 6-8 months and everything was fine with both me and DH. I knew I ovulated later in my cycle, day 18-22 usually, but my hormone levels did not indicate PCOS. The Dr. did offer me Clomid to see if she could reign in my ovulation but I didn't want to go that route unless absolutely necessary. We just continued charting and using OPKs.
We got our first BFP in July 2011. Sadly, that ended in an early miscarriage. Again the Dr. offered me Clomid but I declined. We got this BFP in September 2011.
For reference, I am 30 and DH is 29. Remember, it can often take a healthy couple up to a year to conceive. I know how frustrating it can be but try to stay positive.

I got off BC the first week of October, found out I was pregnant on November 2nd! We were very blessed. I'm thankful because DH is out of town during the week, so we only see each other on the weekends.

I prefer their software vs. fertility friend.
