So very tired of hearing "Oh, you're so going to pop soon!" NO. You were 5 times my size at this point. I'm just not meant to have a big belly! I'm measuring exactly right and I have a tiny belly.
this from work colleagues, one in particular who is just a busy body full stop:
"How long are you having off for maternity leave?"
"3 months and cannot wait!"
"3 months?! Is that it?! Your going to find it awful coming back after such a short time - I had over a year off with mine and still couldnt bare leaving him. Why dont you take the full 9 months? Surely you could find a way to manage money wise if you tried. I cant believe your only taking 3 months!"
The tone of voice she uses is like I am going to be doing our little girl some sort of injustice. And then to tell me that surely I can find a way to manage money wise 'if I tried' - Really woman? Who the H do you think you are?! Dont you think that if I could afford to take the extra time off I would but obviously, as I am not, it means I cannot afford to. I do not need you telling me I could do it if 'I tried'.
I want to punch her in the face everytime she says it - And I will point out she has had this conversation with me several times now - Maybe she thinks by keep bringing it up she will convince me to her ways. You know, seeing as her keep bringing it up is suddenly going to make money start growing on trees!
This thread is therapeutic! I am tired of the dumb comments, mostly coming from women. You would think my own kind would be more supportive. My one coworker continues to tell me how BIG I am getting. Um, hello? There is A BABY in there. Sheesh. So insensitive.

"I bet you're hoping for a boy this time": Um, well, gee, truth be told actually I think a girl would be easier since we have the clothes, toys and the behavior type down pat, but what we REALLY want is a healthy baby, period.
"How are you feeling": TRICKY QUESTION! If you say "fine" then they go on to ask a list of questions "Oh, hasn't the difficulty breathing or sleeping hit? The heartburn? The this or the that???" and if you say even one little thing "Oh, well, you can't complain - it will all be worth it in the end." I KNOW ALL OF THIS!!!!!! Don't ask if there isn't any way for me to answer without getting a mouthful back. Save it, thx!
"I can't believe you guys are having another! You have to be crazy at your age!": Well, TY for that vote of confidence! Interestingly, these seem to be all of the same people who have been riding us for 6+ years about how our daughter "CAN'T" be an only child. And while we may be 40, we're super active and if you don't know our age (not being full of myself) you would NEVER guess how old we are - we look and act 10 yrs younger. Both of us. And guess what, news flash!, we both WANT this baby and we both are intelligent enough to realize that when the baby is 10 we'll be 50....and WE are OK with that, sorry that you aren't!
"You'll probably wind up on bed rest.": WHY would you say that? And, do tell, why would you even think that? I've gotten that from at least a handful of people and I can't for the life of me figure out why anyone is thinking this...let alone saying it to me! Lol
I'm so sick of people telling me that it's only going to get worse. I'm aware that babies don't sleep through the night, I'm not an idiot. I know I'm going to get bigger and the heartburn will only get worse. Also, I'm tired of hearing all this from MEN!!!! You do not know what it's like to be pregnant, no matter how many kids your wife had!
"Oh are you having twins?" nope, theres just one little guy in there. *person does a double take at my stomach* "Really? Are you Sure?"
No, I'm not sure, I'm a freaking idiot. Oh and by the way, thanks for making me feel like a fat whale of a cow since I'm so massively huge that I MUST be carrying twins. Sigh. Sorry, I usually don't let people get to me, but the above scenario has happened every.single.day. this week. The "are you having twins" question by itself is not so terribly bad, but when I say no, please just leave it at that.
I am so tired of people asking me when I'm due and when I say January they say wow you have a long way to go. January is not that far away so no I don't have a long way to go just three months.
Oh you can?t wear heels anymore.?Really?Doesn?t the fact that I am wearing them and walking just fine prove that in fact I CAN wear them?
On that same note if you tell me something is bad for me and I tell you my doctor said it was fine your response should not be ?Oh he was wrong to tell you that.?Unless you are an MD shut up.
FWIW I am rocking some super cute 3 inchers today!

I am tired of hearing I DON'T look pregnant. Just today I had a lady ask me if I wanted a boy or girl... When I told her we were expecting a girl and that I was almost 6 months, her eyes bugged out.
Thankfully that's all I've dealt with. If I had people telling me I couldn't CD or BF, I'd be really upset with them!
It amazes me what people say! I've also had some people say "You are taking 12 weeks off for maternity leave?? You will definitely be ready to come back by 6!"
First of all, I already HATE my job, so any extra time away from that place is a blessing. Second of all, I am having a BABY. What on Earth makes anyone think I'm going to be ready to leave her at 12 weeks, let alone 6!!??
