This totally or if its one of your first few post. I don't really mind one way or another but I think that is because I have only been here for about 2-3 months. But some ladies have been on her forever and it's a bit of a slap in the face if that is your first-ish post

I've been on here for a while, and honestly, to me, it's not a slap in the face so much as it is just annoying. It just makes me wonder what kind of people have this line of thinking:

"OMG! I GOT A BFP!! I BETTER LOG ON TO THE INTERNETS SO I CAN INFORM THE STRANGERS! THE STRANGERS NEEDS TO KNOW!"

All this word for word. OP-you seem like a smart girl and have been nice around here. If you hang out and "meet" us, we will be completely happy for you, regardless of when you get your BFP. If it is someone who NO one has seen on a TTGP board, why on earth are we supposed to make a big deal

Let's be real- If you're a newbie, and have not been posting on the board long- do you honestly think anyone is going to give a hoot if you got a bfp?

Likewise, if you do not know anyone on the board, why do you even have to post it? Why do you care what others are going to say? Complete strangers? I just dont understand it.

If you're a newbie and got a bfp- post it on first tri- not here.
Get your boards straight- it's a simple and easy as that.

TRYING to get pregnant- means TRYING. 1st Tri means PREGNANT.

If you know noone, and noone knows you- move on. A BFP It's very exciting- it is. But the excitment should be directed where it belongs.

First rule of a parent-Stranger danger. Hopefully this is a lesson learned

Don't be scared...I don't think you meant the question to start trouble, but there are people who say very similar things because they want to stir up the board.

Just lurk around here and you'll see pretty quickly which posts get flamed and are seen as annoying/unnecessary. Don't ask us about your chart every 5 minutes, post daily OPK updates, ask us to keep you from peeing on something, ask something that's already been answered in the newbie post (have you read that? At the top of the board and in some people's signatures), etc.

And don't feel the need to defend yourself perpetually if someone takes you the wrong way. We like a little backbone around here Big Smile

When someone posts a drive-by BFP, I normally just ignore them and not post anything nasty. But with the post earlier today, it did seem like she was rubbing it in everyone's face that she only had to try one month to get pregnant.

OP- Good luck to you and hopefully you learn a lot on this wonderful board

Honeybee2813 & ClemsonBride07 - I agree with the two of you 110%, so much so that everytime I would say something someone on this board would take it the wrong way or say that I was rude/ignorant, etc... when they don't even know me. So, I left the board for awhile and got a lot of great feedback elsewhere. I think thebumpies need to realize that we are all here to get prego and we should also be here to encourage people and help them to conceive. I don't post much on here b/c I have yet to figure out how to "shadowbox" someone elses' post or even how to privately im someone. It's not b/c I am antisocial but b/c I can't figure stuff out and I have never felt comfortable in asking anyone on here b/c no one seems to care... therefore, if you want people to post more then some of these people's attitudes need to change. Just a thought, go ahead and call me a biotch or say that I am trying to pick a fight but as of now, I am calling it like I'm seeing it and for the last couple of months, this is how it's been going.

If you are intimated by opinionated people, want everyone to tell each other exactly what she wants to hear just for the sake of being nice, can't handle a snarky comment or defend yourself if need be, then I agree with you when you write that this board isn't for you.

This board IS the place to be for many people because we like it just the way it is for the most part. It's not for you and that is okay.

However, you are not going to have any success in changing anyone's attitude. How presumptuous of you. I doubt that anyone here cares that those who are too intimated to post, don't and I am positive that no one is going to "change her attitude" to make that happen. Just go back to your other board if that is where you are most comfortable.

_Brianna_H - I am not here to change anyones mind but I think a large majority of bumpies are too clique. I am a very opinionated person but I'm not bitchy, there's a difference.

On a side note: Thank you for the directions to shadowbox and im. I will do my best to remember how to do this stuff since I don't do it often. All I'm saying is that we are all here for support and for open discussion and I hope we can all get along.
