Music player in nursery, are you doing it?

I thought about having a cd player in the nursery for soft lullaby music, but wonder if in the long run baby will become "needy" of that and not be able to sleep without it.....thoughts?

Re: Music player in nursery, are you doing it?

  • yes I am they sell a crib cd player i put it on my registry at BBB...
  • Loading the player...
  • Nope, no music.  We did get one of the bears that plays the "whoosh whoosh" meant to imitate mother's HB.  We don't want to encourage any sleep props that can't be easily taken on vacay, other's houses, etc.

  • Yes we got the CD crib player-my sister always used a lot but it was necassary for the baby to fall asleep
  • A CD player is nice to have, even if you don't use it as a sleep aide.  DD loves music, so we listen to it often when we are playing in her room.  We've never used it to put her to sleep, though.

  • This is a good post. We haven't really thought about it, however i love the sleep sheep like PP said imitates the HB.
  • We will be putting a CD player in there, but I mainly plan on using it for my sanity, particularly when I'm up at night nursing... I need my music :)

  • I bought a $10 radio/cd player at wal-mart and i plan on having it in the nursery to play music in there occasionally.
  • We have one in there.  It wasn't when she was an infant...I had it at work with me.  In February I was laid off and brought it home and we put it in there.  We started using it around a year I'd say.  She can definitely go to sleep without it though...she spends plenty of nights at both my mom's and my inlaws.
