I thought about having a cd player in the nursery for soft lullaby music, but wonder if in the long run baby will become "needy" of that and not be able to sleep without it.....thoughts?
Nope, no music. We did get one of the bears that plays the "whoosh whoosh" meant to imitate mother's HB. We don't want to encourage any sleep props that can't be easily taken on vacay, other's houses, etc.
A CD player is nice to have, even if you don't use it as a sleep aide. DD loves music, so we listen to it often when we are playing in her room. We've never used it to put her to sleep, though.
We have one in there. It wasn't when she was an infant...I had it at work with me. In February I was laid off and brought it home and we put it in there. We started using it around a year I'd say. She can definitely go to sleep without it though...she spends plenty of nights at both my mom's and my inlaws.
