So ladies, a few people have mentioned changing OBs and it got me wondering about your experiences. I have been toying with the idea of changing mine but I am a bit heistant since I feel my current one knows my history and I'm worried I want to change not because she was a bad doctor but because I had a bad result. So tell me, after your m/c, did you think about changing ob's? If so, why and did you actually do it? I'd like to use some of your insights for another piece I'm thinking about.

My doctors are awesome awesome awesome. They, and most of their staff, were amazingly supportive during our loss. Also, both of them seemed just as interested as I was in finding out why this happened...again.
I didn't even consider changing doctors.

I changed OB's but only because I went and get my medical records and found out I had a perigestational hemorrhage, a sack of fluid, and several other problems with my pregnancy that he never told me about. Also, I was alway rushed in and out and I was not a fan of that.
I went and had a consultation with a new OB and loved her. She took time to go over all of my records and said she will do everything in her power to make sure I have a healthy pregnancy this next time around.
GL with your decision.

That is a good site to go to in order to read reviews on a Dr. you are looking into going to.
I am changing Doctors! I have an appointment with the new Dr. on Aug. 17 and I'm really looking forward to it. The practice she works for has 8 doctors, all of which handle high risk patients.
My experience with my OB was ok, but it was just the overall experience and how my case was handled. I just felt the her office, as a whole, handled things very unsympathetically nor were they pro-active about anything. My Dr. would send me in for tests but never give me results. Then, when I asked her questions she'd give me vague answers that I ended up having to find the real answers to from my regular Dr. and the internet (lame). I explained all of this to the new Doctors office and let them know whichever Dr. they assign me to, I need one who can give me straight answers to questions.
All in all my original Dr. is a nice person and I never had problems with her or her office before. I got the feeling the whole m/c thing was not something they dealt with enough to show some sensitivity. It is probably a great practice for those with successful pregnancies.
I'm planning on staying with mine if I get pg again since they know my history. I already see a RE for fertility assistance, so I don't need to go back to the OB until I actually get a bfp.
I'm actually a little concerned, because our company is switching insurance carriers in January...and as of right now, my OB / hospital is not on the "in network" list. I petitioned HR to have them added...I'm just hoping they do get added so that I don't have to find someone new.
I did change OB's after my losses, but there were lots of complications. They told me that there was nothing wrong when I was having problems and after I lost the baby they told me that they knew it was a "threatened abortion" and that they just didnt want to tell me and worry me. WTH? I also had never seen the high risk dr only the nurse practicioner, and I was high risk.
It was a big mess. I would say change if your dr is neglecting your care, not if you just didnt like the outcome.
I haven't thought about it at all! My OB's office was great with me going through the whole thing. I was at a radiology office for my last u/s and they saw me right away in the OB office afterward. I went straight there.
I would strongly think of why you want to change...if the doctor and the staff are good...???
After my really good f/u appt today w/ my ob (see post), I plan on staying with her. I am, however, going to try very hard in any subsequent pg to only schedule my appts w/ her. During this last pg I was pretty much seeing a diff dr from the practice each time and think that the continuity of care could have been better (I was still satisfied though that I was having good care - I was being seen by both the obs and peris).
