Not sure what happened...low and behold from then on DH and I got at least a solid 6 hours every night. She is almost 2 and I can count on one hand how many times she has had us up in the middle of the night.
We always intended DS to sleep in his crib in his nursery, only a few steps from our room, but when he came home from the hospital he was having trouble getting the hang of BFing and waking to eat and lost 11% of his birth weight by day 4. The Pinnacle lactation consultant really recommended we do 24-7 skin-skin time, including cosleeping. We did that, and he was above birth weight by day 10, but so used to cosleeping that it took us until this week (he's almost 7.5 months old) to get him to sleep in his crib in his nursery. Not that there is anything wrong with cosleeping, I loved the snuggle time, but be prepared if you do it that crib transition can go super smoothly or be a complete nightmare. Next baby will be sleeping in their crib.
