Trying to Get Pregnant

Another Temping Question

This morning MH left early for work, at 5:00am.  Normally I temp at 6:30.  While I DID wake up while he was getting ready, I DID NOT get out of bed, or really even move around much I just layed there awake for about 15 mins then went right back to sleep and temped at normal time.  Do you think my temp should have been accurate?  From what I have read, it's the moving around factor that should be avoided before temping and not necessarily just lying there awake for a few mins.  TIA, and I apologize if this is a repeat.

EDIT: I ask because I would really like to believe my temp spike this morning.  My whacky crappy Target therm has been giving pretty flat readings lately and I was beginning to think it couldn't go any higher than 98.20.

Re: Another Temping Question

  • I ddont honestly know but i wouldnt think it would throw it off a ton by just laying there. Im also at 9 dpo using the target thermometer and had a spike today as well. Fingers crossed this is bith our cycles

Thanks.  Yup, fingers definately crossed!  And FWIW, i'm switching to the Mabis thermometer next cycle (if I need it).

  • Generally you need at least 3 hours of uninterrupted sleep. It's possible that your temp today was not affected if you woke up without moving around and went back to sleep- but who knows?

Over time, I realized that my temps aren't too affected if this happens to me, but everyone is different.
