Oh, and one of my doctors said that a little caffeine could help with braxton hicks or uterus cramping later in the pregnancy. I think that's what he said.
I agree with those in the camp that caffeinated coffee tastes different than decaff...it's the same (only, IMHO WORSE) for soda..I cannot drink caffine free diet dr pepper..it gives me WICKED heart burn, but reg diet dr pepper doesn't...which I kinda wish it would b/c it'd make it easier for me not to drink it, lol
I'm just jealous your starbucks did that for you!! I asked if they could do half decaf and half reg iced coffee and they said they only have regular iced coffee and wont do it any other way! I settled for regular but its cool they did that!
My Starbucks won't do a decaf iced coffee eiher BUT they will do a decaf iced Cafe Americano. It's more of an espresso so it has a strong flavor but I love They told me that since very few people order decaf coffee they don't brew very much of it.
I can't believe you can actually taste the difference between regular and decaf!
I can. Decaf is gross. I finally just gave in and switched to Gatorade. I have not had any caffeine with this pregnancy as of yet. As the weather shifts from 115 to something a bit more reasonable, I may sneak back on the coffee.

As long as I'm not smoking crack or beating my child, if my husband ever tells me what I can and can't do, he's getting punched in the_dick.
Wow! When I'm not pregnant, I do what I want. While I am, it's half his kid, so I take his opinions into consideration. Even if I think he's being over cautious, I'll live. It's not just me he's concerned about.

But it is a cup of coffee. Seriously. Even the march of dimes says you can have one occasionally.

Ha I know, I know. Luckily, I don't miss it, so I don't feel like I'm giving up anything. Regardless, I still feel like he should have an opinion because it's his kid.
I didn't mind decaf until I was pregnant - I usually preferred half caf for flavor, though. I had some coffee cravings my first trimester, and decaf made me puke like crazy. Half caf too. I had to go fully caffeinated. I have coffee maybe once every other week - either a grande Starbucks coffee, or two cups of Huddle House coffee (I LOOOOOVE Huddle House coffee! It's the only thing on their menu they do well, though.)
Caffeine is fine in moderation and if my husband ever tried to control what I ate during pregnancy (while I was puking my brains out for 7 1/2 months), he would have been slapped.
FWIW, yes I can tell the difference between regular & decaf coffee. I usually only have a little caffeine here & there but I'm extra trying to avoid it this time since it can exacerbate pre-term labor symptoms.
Um...decaf espresso doesn't taste any different from regular. At least, it shouldn't. I think you're being kinda silly.
A woman's life is nine parts mess to one part magic, you'll learn that soon enough...and the parts that look like magic turn out to be the messiest of all.

He gets an opinion. However, I'm not a child, and he's not my father. He doesn't get to tell me anything.
Re: No Caffeine
I'm drinking my 2nd cup of coffee right now.
