  • I may or may not be drinking more than 1 cup of {ahem, caffeinated} coffee this morning since DD woke up at 4:30am ready to party.  Mama's tired.

    Food police:
    - I had a cheeseburger - cooked to MEDIUM {gasp!} on Monday.
    - I had two eggs yesterday and the yolks.were.runny. {how dare she!?} It totally hit the spot and it set me up for a really good food day - I ate like a normal person!
    - I had half a glass of wine a week or so ago. It was amazing.

I kind of want to have an elective u/s, but MH won't "let" me (for various reasons, some of them legit and with reasons I gave him months before I got KU) - and for a moment I considered doing it behind his back. But I won't....

I'm dreading going to my parents house for Easter because one of my cousins might be there (she never comes to things like this, we are celebrating with a different side of the family but her mom is OOT.) Her boyfriend makes me want to punch kittens, he's seriously that obnoxious. His persona is very Kid Rock meets Eminem. BLECH.

    ETA: added one more FFFC.

I love the phrase "makes me wanna punch kittens" haha It perfectly describes how I feel about certakn people.

  • Hubby and I have been keeping the sex a secret til tomorrow when we have a BBQ to tell family. We were only allowed one perskn to tell each so I told my bff. Well I have no self control cause I told all my friends at school the same day behind his back. They all know not to post it on fb so whats the harm? :-P

This week was our 1-year anniversary, and we went out for dinner.  I had my first glass of wine in 3.5 months, and I picked a really great one and it was spectacular!

  • Add me to the list of ashamed, guilt-ridden moms-to-be...we're having a girl.  And I'm not excited.  At all.  Disappointed would probably be the best way to describe my feelings at this point.  I really, really envisioned my son having a little brother, and I've always wanted boys.  I've just never envisioned myself with a daughter.  I know it's a 50/50 shot, so it's not like I'm "shocked", just thrown for a loop I guess.

Am I overjoyed to be having another child?  Yes!  Am I relieved and happy that she so far appears healthy as can be?  Of course!  Am I grateful to be able to give my son a sibling?  Totally!  But the news kind of took the wind out of my sails, so to speak, and I HATE that I feel this way!  I know that I will love her just as much as I do my son, SO will come around as well (he really wanted another boy too), and having one of each will be awesome!  Just have to get over myself and embrace it!

  • A friend of mine is pregnant.  She has had three appointments so far.  She has not asked her due date and they have not told her.  I kind of want to smack her for not asking.  Isn't that something she should want to know?!  But she keeps forgetting.

She can't go by LMP because her cycle was mega screwed up after getting off BC and she ovulated (by my guess) somewhere around CD 60. She wasn't keeping track though so there's no way to tell.

  • Yep, she's had two.

ETA: the first one they told her she was "about seven weeks" and this last one they said "around twelve weeks". She doesn't even have an exact number how far along she is.

AW - I think you're vocalizing what many women feel when the sex isn't what they had their fingers crossed for.  Of course you'll love & adore her - you just have to get use to having your vision of your family adjusted.  Congrats on your daughter - maybe buy something ultra girly to kick start the excitement?

  • I was mad at my sister earlier this week when I told her we're having another boy. I was stoked, H was stoked, my parents were stoked...and she was super disappointed. I know it shouldn't really bother me, but it does. I might say something this weekend since we'll both be at my parents' for Easter.

I don't even know where to start on picking names. I don't think we'll have a name set in stone until right before the baby's born, if we're lucky. Nothing's sounding right whenever I start putting baby names together.

I've been trying to squeeze my boobs into my old, comfy, awesome bras...but I've grown nearly a cup size and just can't do that to my poor boobs anymore. Guess I'm going bra shopping this weekend.

Don't feel bad.  I keep having a feeling this is a girl.  We go for an elective ultrasound tomorrow and I'm worried what my reaction will be when/if they say boy.  To begin with I wanted another boy, but for some reason I have it in my head this is a girl.  It's normal to have a preference and be disappointed. It all goes away though.  You'll love her just as much as you would a boy.

  • this is probably a weird one, and I'm NOT trying to bring up the BF/FF debate again (its really dead guys, I promise)

Since we won't find out what we are having until the baby is here I'm entertaining ideas that it might be a girl.  We *tried* for a boy, but that doesn't always work out.  I would LOVE another little boy and I think I might even be a little dissapointed if it ends up being a giirl.  hopefully the joy of just having the baby here will overshadow that.

The weird part is that I just cant imagine myself breastfeeding a baby girl.  probably because I've only ever nursed DS but I feel like nursing a little girl is weird (but a boy isn't) no idea why I feel this way. pretty out there huh?

    Yep, she's had two.

Seriously!? On my u/s pictures, the gestational age of the fetus is printed at the top, and with every other u/s picture I have seen it's been the same. She could at least figure out her EDD based on that, right?

How can you not know (or forget to ask!) your EDD!? Crazy.

My friend swears that info isn't on her pictures.  I don't know if she's ultra spacey or what.  I would need to know these things but she doesn't seem to care.

  • Wednesday was a long and tired day so we stopped at Dairy Queen and got a burger and fries.  Decided against the blizzard, though.  Yesterday we found a new restaurant and I ate a delicious greasy burger and french fries.  Inlaws are coming for lunch today and we're taking them back to the restaurant and I'm getting me some chicken and waffles...It's so bad for me with so many calories and I simply don't care.

I have only gained about a pound so far, it's ok, right?

  • More then once this week, I've had multiple cokes!  They tasted wonderful and I have zero guilt.  It was still under 200mg a day, but with my last two pregnancies, I really limited it.  With #3, it's all about keeping my sanity.  I don't have the time (or energy) to be crazy about non-issues!

    Another FFFC:

I have 3 pending friend requests on FB. I've denied all 3 at least once before, they keep requesting. One is a friend of my mom's from when I was 1-5 years old - we were neighbors at that point. I don't care to have her as a FB friend because we haven't seen each other in 23 years! The others are people I went to HS with, that I wasn't friends with, but I was polite to everyone so I would make conversation if in a position to do so. But by their standards, this means they should be my FB friend. No. Don't people get the hint if they are ignored on FB?

I have people who do this.  One woman in particular.  She is my husbands coworkers wife.  I have met her a few times and really can't stand her.  She sends me FB requests all the time and then has her husband text mine and ask why I didn't accept.  At one point I gave in but realized she is crazier then I thought and defriended her.  A week later she had a new screen name and was up to it again.  She has done this with a few of DH's other coworker wives.

  • My first FFFC.

    1) My cramps aren't going away so I'm going to the doctor in about 30 minutes. I'm sure everything is fine but I just need to see my baby to know it is.  I started crying and now I can't stop. I'm being ridiculous, I know. I've had a lot of second tri losses from friends and family lately so I'm on edge.

2). I've had olive garden 4 times in one week because I NEED carbs. I get capellini pomodoro and minestrone so it's not that bad but every other meal I've made is carb ridden too.

I door dinged someone at the grocery store on Tuesday. Like I opened my door, a huge gust of wind flung it open wide and bam! hit the car next to me. I've never done that and my heart just dropped.....FFFC I started the car back up and found a new spot. Very far from the first.   I'm waiting for someone to call me bc they got my license plates or saw on a security camera. Feel so guilty. (hangs head in shame)

  • I had a glass of wine after dinner. It was glorious. The husband had the rest of the bottle, which was entertaining because he rarely drinks more than a glass as well. It was fun laughing at my buzzed husband and the hilarous things he would say. Some kid was selling door to door chocolate turtles and he went on a 5 minute convo with him about how he might have to buy him out cuz his pregnant wife loves chocolate. Poor kid.

Has she displayed and previous behavior that would mark her as the type to possibly fake a pregnancy?

I just find it very hard to believe she won't ask her due date, that she hasn't been told her due date, etc.

It's easy to fake a bump pic, just poke your belly out! And she could have grabbed an ultrasound pic off of a google search. Did she tell you she was pregnant after you announced you were?

Sorry I don't know how to edit down a quote.

I told her I was pregnant after her first ultrasound showed she was several weeks behind me.  Originally she got a positive test after testing frequently for five weeks because she was "late". When she got her BFP she swore she was already nine weeks pregnant and that she was one of those people that wouldn't get a positive test because her body didn't produce enough HCG.  I don't think she's faking.  I just think she's clueless.

So I'm planning to make DH hit a McDonald's on the way so I can get some chicken tenders and fries to eat on the way there, then play the pregnancy nausea card to get out of eating Passover dinner.

But you know what.  Two of my best friends are pediatricians.  They talk all the time about other pregnant doctors they know who drink 4-5 cups of coffee a day.  If doctor's are doing it...Embarrassed

  • I have a good one this week! We moved yesterday (all.day.long.) and celebrated the first night in our new house by opening up a nice bottle of wine I brought back from Napa recently. A few sips wasn't going to cut it after the day I'd had, so I measured out 5 ozs and savored every minute of it. It's funny--because my doctor is fine with it, I eat lunchmeat occasionally, but she's anti any amount of wine, so I felt like a criminal sipping that Cabernet! But it was soooo worth it!

Judge awaySmile Sometimes you just need to be out after bedtime. Trust me I would rather have the LO in bed but when both parents work, things still need done and sometimes cooking on a weeknight is out of the question.

And now that it is nice out we have been running/walking most nights so DD isn't going to bed until almost 9- Gasp- And that would also be my FFFC
